NoS Merger Announcement

IN RESPONSE to 1up's clear domination of the round so far, NoS has come to a decision to help stop round stagnation, and has merged with a smaller, though highly motivating entity which is hoped will bring increased co-operation to semi-active players, whilst brewing something already considered to be highly influencial in Planetarion today.

ON BEHALF OF NoS (Novus Ordo Seclorum) we are pleased to announce today that, pursuant
to resolution adopted at the meeting of the High Commanders of NoS, held on July 31, 2005, NoS will merge with Beer, effective August 1, 2005. NoS and beer are hereafter to be considered one and the same as both are now wholly-owned subsidiaries of the NoS alliance.

This beer-merger is as much an idea as it is an institution. It is based on our philosophy that people are basically 'good' and want to help make planetarion a better place. The trick is to provide a fun way for them to do that. People like to drink beer, socialise and generally have a good time. In our human society, beer is a conduit, or catalyst, for making that happen. As a unified alliance of beer drinkers our potential to affect positive social change is enormous. It will also open an interesting dimension into 'unit' scanning in future rounds.

Over the last few days, the leaders of the alliance have had extensive amounts of pub-meets with members on the proposed merger. The membership concern requiring a compulsory solution for beer consumption was put forward for a membership vote, and is now to be enacted. This, along with other feedback received from both HCs and members, is being
reviewed by both parties in the context of advancing the beer-drinking and general intoxication of players in NoS.

HENSEFORTH, NoS will take over beer's existing 'business', such as its intoxicating nature and general recreational enjoyment. Beer will now take an official active role within the alliance to enable NoS increased flexibility in making decisions, also helping to make any planet look like a really attractive and attainable goal. It will also improve synergy among our different segments within planetarion, such as mis-timed fleetcatches, the recalling of wrong fleets, increased member-abuse and overall ineffectiveness and inefficiency while increasing
overall enjoyment and participation for the duration of this round.

Queries were put forward to one of the most prolific score-losers : Drunk Roiding. Nearly 3/4 of players who lost a substancial amount of fleet have admitted to being impaired or influenced by those who were visibly impaired or are either frequent heavy drinkers (alcohol abusers) or alcoholics (alcohol dependent). We believe strongly that if everyone within NoS is consistantly intoxicated nobody will give a damn if they lose their attack fleets nightly, nor will Nadars announcments of his bodily functions have the same devistating impact.

UNDERSTANDABLY, this merger can do only good -- and lots of it. Additional alcohol within our members' body, mind and spirit can only result in a more rapid development pace towards a more enjoyable round. Right away, the biggest issue will be selecting the best beers to
endorse. This merger is expected to be positive for all players of all alliances, within the first
night of 'combined operations'.

Our merger with Beer though will not include its newly created, and more unethical sister group Vores Oel version 1.0, we could never condone anyone having access to our Beer and our creating skills, yet hopes it finds the improvement it seeks. I think that is a little unjust. Insofar as I know, NoS HC did what they thought was best for their members- is this not the grounds on which an alliance should operate?
