Re: boredom
Helenistic empiricism???
So you then, take every thing at its face materila value? Take events as they come?
Try nihilism or disillusionment sometime- they tend to be a nice accompaniment to apathy.

Re: boredom
We seem to be replying to each other a lot tonoght Leshy? An agenda of disagreement? or general discontentment perhaps?

Re: boredom
Try meeting my mother- its terrifingly boring; the boredom renders your mind numb- incapable of coherent thought.

I dunno, but I think it would be worse if you were bored and didn't know you were bored. I think there are a lot of people who are utterly bored with their lives and don't even know it. At least if you know you're bored you can do something about it, whereas if you don't know it then you just have to suffer indefinitely. I'm reminded of this:

An individual is furthest from being conscious of himself as spirit when he is ignorant of being in despair. But precisely this--not to be conscious of oneself as spirit--is despair, which is spiritlessness...

But then Kierkegaard always did look on the bright side. :xmas:

1) The fact that you understand everything I say, supports my theory that your vocabulary is just as good, if not better than mine.
2) I like being able to express myself in a clear, coherent manner. I find "my long words" often covey my feelings, thoughts and ideas in a better fashion than if i had not used them.
And seeing as text is the primary form of communication amongst my virtual peers- why not?

Well that told him. Anyway, that aside; I think death is the ultimate in boredom. That`s REALLY boring.

We've been trough this soo many times! Communication is the basis for intellectual liberation! Thus my feeble attempts at improving my underworked mind shouldn't be treated so harshly! And have I not toned it down just for you???
Do you not remember that first day in our former alliance channel?
