Just for the uninitiated, do you want to go through the details of what the Military scan is, and how this applies to all races and defence etc, and then how Xan cloaking works now, appoco?

How the military scan works? It gives you a sheet that has a list of all ships that are visible, with columns for fleet 1, fleet 2, fleet 3, fleet 4. Doesn't give ETA, destination, mission, nor name; just pure fleet content. Obviously, cloaked ships (the basic xandathrii ships) are invisible there, although, you can see xandathrii pods, structure killers, and all-targetting ships (a niche here).

Original Xan cloaking thought worked differently - they would not be included in the number of ships inbound (and thus you could get attacked by 0 ships), nor would they be displayed in a Unit Scan. The only time you could see cloaked ships was through a Military scan, but even then you didnt know what was going where (unless you were lucky, and the fleets had different numbers of uncloaked ships and you could work it out like that ).

Cloaked Xan ships *do* show on Military scans - the purpose of bringing them back was to have a scan that showed Xan ships :-)

Also, only the killers (apart from the all ship, if included) are hidden from unit + fleet scans, pods are shown on all scans.

Ah yeah, true. I was talking holes into my heads. It's a full list of all ships in the game, and a number for each in each fleet? Does it have 20% interference?

What about the number on the status screen?

Military scans are 100% accurate.

Galaxy status and overview and so on only show the uncloaked ships - so be warned, incoming from Xan players may be more than you think it is!

Are the fleets shown in military scan in somewhat random order or can we always just reckon that "Fleet 1" is base fleet, or does it shuffle them always? (Ie. each time you scan, different group of ships is given different column on the scan, instead of given the same column by default; which would eventually help you figure which of the fleets is the base fleet).

The fleets on the military scan are shown in the same order as the fleet page.

The random issue was a bug where I forgot to specify an order when retrieving the fleets from the database, so it outputted them however it felt and gave the impression in some cases that people were being attacked by a base fleet of another player

Be warned, some people (like myself) have renamed their fleets Gamma / Beta / Alpha etc, to add confusion to mil scanning
