Kenny's wry smile is visible despite the dimmed light of the sunset. "Wouldn't want a man to die without his own personal weapons now would I?"

He walks into the merchants store then emerges with all your belongings which he hands to you.

"Any more last requests?"

arthur makes a bit of a show of thinking about it and checks over his weapons closely, one by one, and toying with them a bit, all the while looking and acting nervous

well, none that you are very likely to grant, as if they were, then they would no longer be last

Kenny snears.

"Heh! Hope you're ready to head to that big saloon in the sky pardner!"

He walks down the street about 30 or 40 yards then turns around. "How's your aiming runt? Hopefully you aim better than you plead for your life!"

He puts his hand near his revolver, but does not touch it, as though waiting for you to make the first move.

"Draw!"

Arthur smiles to himself and places the rifles off to the side leaning on the rail of the saloon, as kenny walks away he mutters to himself

my aim is just fine, probably a whole hell of a lot better than yours

arthur places his revolver in its holster and returns to the middle of the street lining up kenny with a couple things nearby, as kenny places his hand near his gun arthur cracks his neck and smiles, when kenny yells "draw" arthur simply stands for a moment and as he brings his left hand accross his torso he brings his pistol up, catching the hammer with his left hand, cocking it, and pulling the trigger in a single fluid motion he fires twice at kenny's right shoulder so that it will make the arm a useless peice of hurting meat

Perhaps Kenny had too much to drink. Maybe old age was getting to him. Whatever the case, Kenny the Kid draws a fraction of a second slower than you. Your bullet flies through the air as Kenny draws. As Kenny is pulling the trigger, your first quick fired shot hits his gun as he shoots. Due to your bringing the gun up so fast, the 2nd shot misses completely. However, the first shot was enough to severely lessen Kenny's lethal aim. The impact of the bullet causes Kenny's aim to be just a hair off of his targert: your head. You feel the piercing heat of a bullet impacting your ear. As you reach up to it, you feel nothing where your ear was supposed to be. Another shot shoots the gun out of your hand. A third hits your armor, and knocks you to the ground, knocking the wind out of you. Kenny saunters over, laughing.

"That'll teach you to play hero! Sorry if I 'pierced your ear'. Haha. Looks like you'll bleed to death in a few moments. Well at least I can tell Pinnelope you won't be messing with HER plans anymore. Now that you're gone, I'll go collect my pay from her and be on my way."

He turns and heads toward the school house, as the sun sets.

aurthur regains his breath and claps a hand to his mangled ear to slow the bleeding, he stands slowly, wavering a little while the adrenaline began its course through his veins, he blinks a couple times and retreaves his rifle, removing his hand from his ear he takes aim on kenny's retreating spine and fires, not bothering to see the results of his shot arthur ducks into the bar and runs to the back, he quickly tears off a peice of his poncho and wraps it around his ear, he winces at the pain, but it would heal eventually, he tears another two strips wraping the first over the other one and the second around his neck to slow the blood flow to the wound

damn, i liked that ear

The bartender rushes in behind you. "I can't believe you're alive! Kenny left you for dead, he never leaves anyone alive unless he is SURE they're gonna die. Your one lucky rascal. You need anything? He looked like he was heading for the school house.........but why?"

After a few minutes you stop bleeding, grateful that you had decided to wear the armor. Kenny never bothered to check for it, and thus assumed you would die since he shot you in the chest.

arthur smiles wryly

yeah, but thats what the oven door was for, but it seems that the school teacher is behind all of this mess... yes, you can, a good sized glass of water would be nice

The bartender returns with water.

"The teacher? Ms. Prim? But why? What in the world would she want to do all this for? She just got hired, she wouldn't want to be out of a job so quickly would she?"

is her first name pennelope? because that who he's going to see, to collect payment
