because he has something to say ?
and after all were listening to you too !
Quote:

no because debate is good, GD is for that.. thats why its called General Discussions
Quote:

the point being dont need to find out who he really is or anyone who posts on here is, those opinions, comments and stories tells us that, this is discovered over time and is worth the time to write and reply to do that.
some posters are almost likeable immediately, others have more prickles than a porcupine, thats what makes the discussions more fun and interesting, different views, on one thread you will be in disagreement, on another you may agree with a poster.
i'm fairly new to GD but i do enjoy it for the above reasons, maybe your husband does for the same reasons, after all, a one sided view of the world leads to all sorts of trouble and sometimes wars.

Re: Wife problems
Technically Proteus should have found the link to her blog and only circulated it to a rouge crowd of internet marriage counsellors* who would then go about helping travler and his wife live a more fulfilling life together. But he didn't, he gave the link to us and then we proceeded to mock her for being fat and insane. That's because we're bad people. I will see you all in hell! But hey, hey, hey, pig said nice things though. Some kind of fatty solidarity thing I expect.

It's more about some people love to talk, and think that in order to be popular they must put forth every single little bit of dire crap that goes on in there life onto the internet, either via blog (which is the most popular), or say forums.
It's also a way of gossipping too. Putting in your blog all the gossip you heard, and all the personal stuff you wouldn't tell someone in person, yet feel the need to put out on the web because you see everyone else being this stupid and doing the same thing. I used to have a blog on yahoo, then I realized after a week, that it was retarded and no one really gives a shit about my life.

She obviously doesn't know what sarcasm is, dispite claiming she was a smart ass and loved sarcasm.
I finally got LMBO too...it's a lame ass substitution for people so repressed that they think swearing is a sin, dispite there being absolutely no proof in the bible that that particular word is evil, and the word ass is used frequently referring to donkeys. If the word ass is so evil, then why's it in your most sacred and holy book.

No, she's writing that Yahwe is "right barking mad" which apparently makes him the old uncle sitting in front of the fireplace with a gin, telling crazy stories that everyone laughs at. I'm not sure if I would consider that a good thing, were I him.

Re: Wife problems
Yeah, Deffeh is stating what I meant (and giving comparative examples too).
I've been involved in conversations with people on IRC (some in PM, some not) about their various private lives with girls they like, or significant others. If they then linked me to said girl's blog or diary on the internet, and I posted these IRC logs, I think you'd agree I'd be a bit of a knob.
Laughing about her mental blog without her knowing is fine.
Finding her blog on the net and s******ing at the horrible background and colour scheme is fine.
Posting comments on her blog anonymously is fine.
Linking her back to GD (to this thread) is NOT fine.
It's on the same level as us having a conversation in the pub, me complaining about a girlfriend, then one of you recording it and sending it to her.

He didn't post the blog. That's the difference. He posted an excerpt and then people specifically went to find it to **** him over.
Sorry guys, but any of you who think that this is comedy genius have gone down significantly in my opinion of you as decent human beings.

Anyone that felt the need to post on the blog with comments et al clearly felt they had something to prove and it was their time to shine on the internet

Yes because im well known for that.
You're all (unfairly) making the presumption that he posted simply to be an attention whore, and as such that its his fault. Despite his posting style ive never known him to deliberately post in that manner so accept his thread at face value as 'what do you think?'
Perhaps my trust in GD was profoundly misplaced but i had felt that if anyone located Horn's sisters blog or that of his parents they wouldn't link back to it and basically copy/paste spam every odd posting horn had ever made, because he is, you know, batshit insane (horn i love you).
It was little more than the juvenile character assassination id expect from the worst tabloids or bandwagon jumping forums. We may as well be done with it and call her a paedophile. There was no argument, no thought, no discussion; just lolshesfatandoddlol.
Pretty much everyone who still laughs at what happened was either a member of tpe or found tpe funny. Well tpe was actually a pile of shit, and you should all be thankful the forum was reset after its timely demise.

I'm not sure if I'm not just vastly different to you but that's actually pretty funny from my perspective.
Maybe because I don't moan as much as the average person about people in my life to the internet, or to anyone really, that makes me think people who do should be outted in hilarious ways.
This carebear brigade thing is really getting me down

Yeah but if we don't stop the witch-hunts noone would post stories about their emotional and sexual dysfunction; which lets face it is what we're good at.
I mean i was going to say/link how i accidentally came across* a tribute to a DEAD but utterly hot 15yr old on youtube. But now im afraid some sell-out clown will link from the forum to YT and make me feel all insecure about dead women.
*only joking, i mean honestly, honestly, really nothing happened. But can you imagine. Personally i blame the internet, its made me objectify females to the point where their mere existence is a triviality.

I didn't really see this as a witch hunt. Travler copied the blog, and a quick search found the source on yahoo's 360.
The rest was just GD people finding lot's of things inside the other blogs of hers that was too good of material to pass up commenting on.

Yeah but theres something so unworthy about just quoting and basically saying 'haha lol haha lol' over and over again.
What they did was the equivalent of posting this repeatedly

I'm unsure what you're asking but as long as you don't judge anyone for being semi-turned on* by a dead girl on her dead girl tribute video its all good.
*i was already semi-turned on i swear, and i haven't had sex in 2 weeks and, and the other 50% just happened.

Oh I'd like to interrupt here though. Sure I completely agree that linking this thread to her blog was a bad thing. It shouldn't have happened but it did (and I think if we found a way to get the IP from the blog (maybe Traveler's wife has access to it) and JBG could compare it to the IPs on this forum we can name and shame the person who did this).
But this doesn't mean that whatever we were laughing with before it happened suddenly becomes less funny. That's like a kid stealing candy and only feeling guilty about it when he gets caught. If you get what I mean.
Despite the fact that she now knows about us talking about it, doesn't change that she's a fat crazy christian chick.

That would pretty much infer humour being freestanding and independant of personal context, which is really bollocks. Theres no inherently funny thing everyone on earth can laugh at regardless of their personal experiences. If i make a joke about face-aids to a stranger then find out he has aids and is about to die the funny levels plummet pretty dramatically. New information changes/alters the context of a situation and hence any humour within it.

True, but I'd like to argue that aids is something you can't do anything about, but being a crazy fat christian chick on the other hand you can do something about.

Yeah to be honest I'm pretty angry over how ****ing shit three people have managed to make a pretty top-class thread because they felt like claiming some inane moral high-ground over something so petty and minor. I mean jesus guys one person posted a link back to the forums go do something ****ing useful and kill yourselves.

i heard beating people up in the street and stealing their phones and mp3 players is not only funny because you get to humiliate someone, but you also get a free phone and mp3 player. Plus because you dont actually know the person its completely ok.
Seems to work for most neds and chavs, anyway.

It's like you've taken some straw and then, like, I dunno, built a man out of it or something. Whatever it is you've really blown my mind and I'm going to have to sit down and seriously reconsider what I'm doing with my life now.

I'm confused, there're two of you but people like one of you and hate the other one. What gives?

Its this ying yang thing.
To keep balance in the universe we need a little bit of both.
Kinda like sex, you cant have it without sneaking out the door the next morning.

Re: Wife problems
Would it still be funny if this was the catalyst that sparked off big arguments in Travler's home, and eventually led to a divorce and split home?

Honest to god yes. I mean, possibly on some level I'd feel sorry for travler, but it'd still be funny.
As an example I offer that chinese guy who hung himself because his girlfriend dumped him in real life for his internet persona. Someone died there. However it's still funny.

Okay, if I sold you an acme anvil and you dropped it from a height onto tomkat and broke his leg and hospitalised him I'd find that funny. In the abstract it wouldn't be worth (to me) the suffering of someone I know but I'd still find the humour in it.
Equally in this scenario I didn't contribute to this in any way. Only the person who posted the link did.

Re: Wife problems
You can't post extracts from your wife's PUBLICLY AVAILABLE BLOG and not expect people to find it through google.
Once found it's OBVIOUS that someone will link back to here.
Someone did to ammy in that bebo account thread, and it's probably been done before.
And anyway - if travler really does talk about this place all the time to his wife (heh) then she's bound to come here some time yeh?
I'm pretty damn sure at least one of my gf/ex-gf's has read a bit of GD (it's my homepage still).
You post stuff about people and you run the risk of them finding it, especially if what you post is easily linkable to there contact details.
Unless this is just a big troll from TK et al again
Recently I haven't been able to tell if he's being serious or not in threads like this...
And I didn't find the thread that funny anyway... maybe because I only just went through it and the blog hurt my eyes so I didn't read it.
