New Covert Operation

I suggest adding a new Covert operation at the top of the tree.

"Disable structure defence."

This covop makes structure defence ineffective for 4 ticks

Allows structure killers to do damage if the target planet is not immune to covert ops.

nasty, but cov ops is pretty much useless at this point as everyone is immune due to everyone trying to complete quests.

I like the quests as it helps me go from scan rush to attack but it has gotten silly.

The main problem with cov ops is that you can't make everyone happy. Either it's worth doing, and everyone who gets hit gets angry, or it's not worth doing, and everyone who likes cov ops gets angry.

I think the underlying problem is the lack of interactivity. When you're attacked, that's a cue to do something you wouldn't otherwise do: arrange defense, recall attack fleets, produce ships, etc. When you're cov opped, it's already too late. There's nothing you can do, you should've already done it. And that's a bad feeling. Additionally, while you could've gotten immune, that feels more like a tax on fun than a real choice to make. You could've instead spent those funds on doing more entertaining stuff, like building your fleet.

I have discovered a truly marvelous solution to this problem, which this forum post is too small to contain.

Remove them. Stupid lose lose feature.

Protecting against them costs and even more if u dont. Stupid situation to the target planet.

Also easily abusable by farm planets or people spamming fail cov ops on u. Or forcing u to invest in protection.

Make them less destructive and more constructive ie. Add Intel features. Or gain rp or cp instead of killing stuff that we should be attacking for.
