Petrol Station Problems
Hi, I filled up at a petrol station recently with £20 of unleaded petrol. My car broke down 30 seconds up the road from the petrol station along with another persons BMW who had filled up at the same station. The AA comes out and it turns out I filled up with £20 worth of WATER. The pumps were pumping out water cos they over drained their petrol tankers.
The whole point of this is it killed 4hours of my time sorting my car out when I was on the way back home to go on holiday the next morning. I was wondering if I should try and sort out some compensation thing for negligence on their part. I was wondering how much money to ask for to settle out of court or if I have to threaten legal action who to go to. Does anyone know anything about this stuff?

Re: Petrol Station Problems
Did it fk your engine up? If so i would ask for compensation. If the only costs you occured were 4 hours of your time i doubt you will get any compensation.

Re: Petrol Station Problems
At the very least I'd be asking for my money back.
Like Madina said, unless it's done major damage I doubt you'd get much in the way of compensation but it could be worth pressing for a free fill up* or something.
*make sure to stipulate petrol, just in case!

Would never happen at my petrol station!!!!
I think you can ask for youre £20 back, and possibly the amnt it cost for the AA to come out, I doubt they will be willing to settle for much else.

Where there's blame, there's a claim.

No, just a pubescent child furiously fapping in a toilet.
Nothing to worry about I guess, lets only get our petrol from your "pump"

Re: Petrol Station Problems
You're welcome
Although I am not sure what concept you mean "clearing that up" you're using.
Let me assure you, I do not mop up after pig!
