Re: FIle sharing networks
BitTorrent is good for music.
And you shouldn't be so blatant! Pretend it's research or summat

Re: FIle sharing networks
I doubt any of the remaining mods care.
Anyway, for albums Bittorrent is the win. Suprnova has a good selection every day. There are more specific web pages for particular genre's - there's a Punk Rock torrent page for instance.
I only use P2P for individual tracks. Although even that is becoming unreliable and rubbish lately.
At one point I could use Kazaa Lite and get an individual (relatively popular) track within about 10 mins. Nowdays I could be waiting days and days.

Re: FIle sharing networks
yeah, i use the burst! bit torrent client and get most of the torrents from suprnova.org which is by far the best torrent site around.

Re: FIle sharing networks
does azureus use much system resources? i use burst! now because i found it to be the one that used the fewest resources.

DC works wonders if you know how to use it properly.

Re: FIle sharing networks
I've noticed that most of the p2p networks seem to have turned to poo recently.
Get a paid for news service and download albums that way.
Much quicker than messing about with a cd ripping prog (insert giggle)

Re: FIle sharing networks
Actually, the best source of MP3's (as with most files) is to trade with other people in real-life.
There's nothing quite like getting someone to copy you their 40GB/50GB collection, which they've spent hours agonisingly sorting out, making sure ID tages are right, etc.
