I never changed ONE R/P or Fleet name in all my time as an MH
So that statement is quite incorrect.

Re: Christmas Mini Round
What a brilliant idea all of it 30 min ticks is cool but would be better if ships took 25% longer to fly, better for me and any other heavy drinker during the holidays,4 ticks sleep lol ill crash every day hehe
Id wouldnt mind seeing lower alliance limits maybe 40 to see old alliances from the past come back for the unusual round and more competition around
Ive one weird stoned idea :P always best to blame somthing 1st
The 12 special roids of xmas, all with a different bonus that can be stolen from 1:1 initially :P
1st roid of christmas gives 20% extra mining
2nd roid of christmas gives 20% extra research ect ect
12th could give double xp or somthing real deadly
i love christmas
merry christmas fellow PA addicts

Re: Christmas Mini Round
I wish special roids could be implemented aswell, but weren't there a ton of problems related to them last time they were used?

Re: Christmas Mini Round
isil the OP mentions Golden Roids, so somebody must think they can include them? Who knows, they'd be pretty cool though. If you just renamed golden roids to Christmas Roids, you'd be able to forgo making any other part of the game christmas themed, as the other 'themed' suggestions are most definitely getting carried away.
Christmas round = Christmas roids; everything else can be kept the same.

Technically, his statement doesn't actually say that you DID change any R/P names. So irrespective of whether his statement was correct or not, it was not incorrect for the reasons you cited.
So... that'd make your statement quite incorrect.

Re: Christmas Mini Round
I seem to recall there was a mini-game a few years back that only had two races called Science and Technology or something similar. The science race had cloaked and emp capable ships whilst the technology race had stealers/killers.
To be honest I cant remember how it went as it was quite a whilst ago, I think it might have been before Eitraides were introduced. Something similar to that could be feasible.

Truth is the War path was way overpowered, after a few hours the Rest of The World was so much ahead that they stopped playing, having achieved overall victory. What happened next is in PA Wiki.

Yeah but the players in there were undoubted class, particularly for a speed game. When a player like splatpack put his mind to it, getting a really big planet is very much a formality for the likes of him.

I understand that but doubting the quality of that aussie group made me a bit
It's also not the most coherent article, although it appears I contributed to a win that I entirely forgot about.

Re: Christmas Mini Round
seems like the 2006 world cup mini game has evocked some nostalgia, couldnt we do something similar this time, rather than the races being science/technolgy and war, have "the Claus/Santa'" vs "The Grinch" or similar. Or could base the races on the cheesy christmas films that always appear at this time of year.

Re: Christmas Mini Round
Looks like a pretty good setup, at least a welcome change of pace. As long as I'm stuck with the parents for Christmas thus bored; otherwise 30 min ticks could be a downer.

Appoco:
- 1 hr ticks
- halved production/research/construction time
- 2 x Ressources from Asteroids
- 50% bigger startup bonus on research/construction
-> Let the fun begin.
Make it a quick round without the boring startup stuff but more combat instead.

This might very well be the dumbest idea I've read on the PA forums ever.

Yes, I only burn ideas made by non-Ascendancy members.
