No Dachi is infamous around these parts
Re: Onslaught: The Flight

The Red Sky At Dawn was in a most excellent mood as he executed final approach manouevres at a distance of around two kilometres from the Federation's Wayland station. These high spirits were the result of a culmination of good fortune for the old warship, partly, at least. Most of the elation the shipmind was experiencing came from the just-past battle. The ship had obviously not lost his touch in the quiet years since its long slumber, drifting lifelessly through the galaxy. Several dozen enemy creatures and ships had been added to the massive memory store of the warship's vanquished opponents. A quick status check by the surviving repair drones had revealed that all of the damage could be repaired using materials already stored in the ship's hold. Even as the warship fired its manouevreing thrusters to gently slide into contact with the waiting docking arm, the repair drones zig-zagged back and forth over its outer hull, patching up the damaged hull with molten composite alloy. However, this alone would merely have satisfied the Red Sky At Dawn rather than send it into the realms of joy (or as close to joy as a machine can experience). What was making the machine so particulatly happy was what he had found - and indeed stopped to take on board - on the way from the ruins of Billibridge to Wayland. A single wandering planet, without a star, drifting cold and barren through the endless depths of space in a way much similar to how the warship itself had drifted following that fateful encounter with the pirates. The Red Sky At Dawn had been forced to brake hard in order to slow in time to stop by at the planet and perform a sensor sweep of it. One of the things the warship did to occupy itself for the hundreds of thousands of years since the dissapearance of the ancients was to continuously update its starmap of the galaxy. The warship had made some interesting discoveries; the remains of some kind of civilization covered the surface. Ruined, burnt-out buildings, fosilised organic matter, etc. The old warship quickly identified the cause of the civilization's downfall; self-destructive superweapon warfare. Most of it appeared to be thermonuclear weaponry, but one gigantic crater remnant on one face of the planet indicated something far more powerful - perhaps the blast that had knocked the planet from orbit. All of this was mildly interesting to the warship, but not the sort of thing to bring joy. No, the joy came from what the warship had found on the edges of the planet's rapidly solidifying liquid core. A very rare metallic element of the kind used to create shipminds. He had not come across such material since the days of the ancients; the had some kind of large source of it, or some way of producing it, somewhere, but the warship knew neither where nor how. This was the cause of the Red Sky At Dawn's joy, for it meant that, finally, he could produce himself a comrade-in-arms, another warship of ancient design to accompany him. He quickly selected one of his many designs, carefully drawn up over the countless years on the merit of combat experience. A support vessel was what the Red Sky At Dawn had decided to make. The second ship was already coming together in its gigantic construction bay - which it filled completely. No Dachi had constructed around two dozen specialised construction drones to aid his own construction facilities in rush-building the second warship. Soon, it would emerge into the dark of the void, and then the Red Sky At Dawn would have the task of teaching and training it...

But, something preyed on the shipmind's thoughts. The other ancient warship, the one so similar in design to itself, that had been infested by the parasites. The ship that had felt so helpless to prevent itself from carrying out the actions that the parasitical overmind forced it to that it wished for death. The ship that had sent him, somehow, a bundle of starmaps and charts that the Red Sky Ar Dawn did not know the portrayed location of - though it had a suspicion. As the old warship felt the docking clamps hiss shut around its starboard hull, a single, spherical drone, about the size of a football, dropped silently from a launch tube and, in a brilliant flash of white light, was gone. The drone was another very specialised one, containing within it an extroardinarily powerful FTL drive, but no sublight drive, and a spac-rift generator through which it would instantaneously send a lot of data to its father-vessel. The drone was very costly in resources and would only be used once, but if the warship's hunch proved correct, the results of its mission would be vital. The drone was a cartography probe, at this very moment speeding at incredible velocity toward the nearest galaxy to the Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy, to map a section of it. If this map matched any part of any of the starmaps given to the Red Sky At Dawn by the infested ship, then that, surely was where the ancients would be.

The Red Sky At Dawn left a small portion of its mind monitoring the drone's flight while the rest of it prepared for a face-to-face meeting with the motherships' other escorts. One of those innefficient and, the warship thought, rather pointless things that human military personnel somehow seemed to find beneficial, a briefing. The Red Sky At Dawn decided to attend as itself, and quickly took a displacement drone aside for modification in a drone maintenance bay/ It came out as an exact copy of the Red Sky At Dawn, though on a very small scale, right down to the finest detail. The real Red Sky At Dawn, satisfied, sent the miniature replica of itself speeding through the passenger door, down the docking arm and toward the briefing room. Two tiny sensor drones the size of tennis balls orbitted the replica warship, acting as No Dachi's eyes and ears.

Geth'lath galncing up as he slumps in the corner, his ahnds idling playing it some odd shaped decoration, his peculiar eyes scanning across the room sharply.
"It appears that we have quite a combination of company Sat
Sneering a little laughing to himself let his body strech out in relaxed manner
"Odd group indeed"
Mumbling finaly to himslef and Sat alone, sighing haevly his inpaitence growing by the second.

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

*The Striker Draconis burst burst back into real space beside the motherships, lancing out towards the shipyard itself. She flew down under one of the massive spheres, looking for an open bay. Suddenly, as she reached the very bottom of the station, a smaller vessel came into view. Of a similar design to the Manta-class, the crushed sphere forward section and crushed cube rear section were of the same green metal that made up the Striker's hull, denoting their membership of the 5th ETF Fleet. The second ship was a Rhino-class, not such a powerful fighter as the Manta-class, but still potent. The heavy cruiser came in slowly to dock at a berth next to the Rhino-class.*

"Well I'll be damned. It's the Dellani. Comms, get me Captain Becker."

Comms: Channel open sir.

"Zak you pirate, we thought you were long dead!"

Becker: Not yet Anthony, they nearly got us a Yavera, but we're nearly ready to get back into action. Soon as repairs are complete, we'll be joining you.

"Glad to hear it. We need to catch up. The nearest bar?"

Becker: Sure, see you there.

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

*Entering the briefing room, Fleet Admiral Bakan looks around at the various captains scattered about in the conference room. Seeing many of them just sitting around, Bakan sees several non-coms enter carrying food trays. Waving at them, Bakan takes a seat at the head of the table.*

Bakan: "Thanks you for coming. Please, help yourself to some food. However, we don't have much time. Right now, there are repair crews swarming over your ships repairing them. Also I know that some of you have run into others from your respective fleets. We will need them."

*The doors open and Admiral Yettevia walks in. Looking strangly at Bakan, she takes a seat at the end of the table, pulling out various data-pads.*

Yettevia: "Alrightly folks, we don't have a lot of time. Your ships have been mostly repaired, but that's cause we have pulled out components of this Starbase. We are dying here, actually about to leave this station when you arrived. We have been getting scouts nearby from the swarm, so we are expecting a attack very soon."

Bakan: "Like she said, we only have a limited amount of time. Now, once we have finished stockpile resources, we need to get going. We have 4 different options to the next destination, a hyper-slipstream nexus gate. One takes us through the Deneb debris field, another through the outskirts of Borg space, though we have not heard from them in a while. The other 2 go through uncharted territory, one rumored to host a advance species remains, another going through a area where plasma storms are likely. We need to decide on a course of action."

Yettevia: "When we leave, we will not be able to come back. I'll be rigging this station to self-destruct after we leave, we won't leave it for those."

Bakan: "So do a vote people, which path do you wish to take?"

[ooc] Now talk among yourselves, pick a destination, talk, chat, next DM around thurs/fri, though comments may be made [/ooc]

"I say we send some ships to scout out the Borg space and the unchartered territory. If, as you say, the Borg are being quiet, it could be that they are having trouble of their own with the swarm. And if not, we could always lead the swarm there to give them some trouble. As for the unchartered territory? Who knows until we look."

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

"1 thing is certain, that debris field is out of the question, that's like asking to get ambushed by the bugs. The unknown area's, well, we don't know and as for the borg, they're probably fighting the swarm, but when they see us coming they'll react, they always need more parts and more people to assimilate, not to mention that a couple of cubes would slaughter us, we've had a rather close encounter with a borg sphere, essentially a lightly armed exploration vessel, and it damned near killed us, so if it's up to me, borg space is out of the question. My ship is more then maneuverable enough to move through a plasma storm without problems, several other ships could also do that easily, the remaining ships all use inertia based drives, so if we get into a plasma storm they could shutdown their main engines and switch off all unneccesary systems, then maneuver on thrusters only, their momentum could carry them through"

*Donovan and Becker walk in through the door just in time to hear Bakan's statements.*

"I would suggest that we give the debris field a wide berth, as the others have suggested. The Borg space also seems a dangerous option, I'd advise against that. To me, the area with plasma storms could present the same risks as the debris; low sensor capability and easy to hide. However, we could also turn that to our advantage. I just don't know."

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

"our sensors are quite capable of cutting through the interference in a plasma storm, as that is just phased energy flying about, solid objects are a lot harder to see trough. Tough our sensor resolution would be immensely low, on the other hand, we could also try to modify our deflector array for a tachyon scanner array, which will allow the detection of cloaked ships at long range, again bothered with the low resolution tough"

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

The Red Sky At Dawn's attention is immediately engaged at the mention of an 'advanced race' living in the unknown area passed by one route. The miniature done modelled after the ship floats a little higher. Its tiny manouevreing thrusters flare brightly as it moves forward a few inches.

"I have observed that many humans have a tendency to fear the unknown. In this instance, this fear is not altogether misplaced. However, I believe that, given the obvious danger posed by the other routes, the unknown route is the best option open to us. In plasma storms or debris our manouevreability would be severely hampered, and the swarm would quickly overwhelm us with their superior firepower and numbers. Whilst the plan of luring the swarm into Borg space so that the two engage eachother is tempting, we may merely end up with both the Borg and the swarm chasing us with the two having caused very little damage to eachother. There is also the fact that the swarm would inevitablt overcome the Borg, and then we would face an enemy with some extremely powerful weaponry to back up its strength in numbers. I believe the unknown route to be our best option, though I would also advise increasing our intelligence on it."

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

'I wonder, what kind of scouts would be used, my ship has a quite capable small ship onboard, it's called the delta flyer and is capable of sustained speeds of around warp 6.8, with a peak of warp 7.2 for 12 hours, which equates rougly to 596 and respectively 720 times the speed of light, it is also reasonably well armed for a scout vessel, so if it's speed is sufficient, i'm certain it would be a usefull addition to any scouts sent ahead. If needed i'll even pilot it myself'

After finshing off second plate of food seeming more erngised than before, an odd look about him.
"You all speak valid points indeed, if time was more permitting I would see much wsdom in some things you say, but time is not with us, the enmy gives chase I for one do not plan to sit around and let them catch me up. I chose my own fate, I chose when it is time for my light to burn out, I wont sleep humble as my throat is slit."
Grinnign a littleat that thiugh sighing a little bringing himself abck tore ality quickly
"As i said before my ship, if you could call it that is not well sutied within a plasma storm, nor do I trust a debrie feild anymore. But we have little trime to gather intelligance on this unknown space and I wish not to tangle with the borg right now."
Stepping out of the corner running his ahdn throat his ahir qouckly falttening parts of ti sticking up wildy.
"I shall not permit myself to become weak and food for the strong either, we, that is me and my ship have both agreed that the uncharted territory is the better choice for us, although it is little sceptical on the matter but what can you expect from an these things"
A mad grin grows across the rather umkemot loking man, wearing scruffy clothing, hair growing wild down to his shoulders. Two diffrent tinted eyes showing a apert sharpness quickly grabing at his forehead with one arm
"yes yes ill tell them already, dont shout I can hear you clear enough."
Bringing his attention abck to the captains
"hmm it would seem that my ship has made up his mind completly we both vote on uncahrted space even if we have to ride in deaths maws, we shall give it a bath of blood the likes it hasnt seen before"
titling his head in curous manner more mad looking than sane right now going back to his chosen corner a frenzy starting to twitch inisde
"Now excuse my words for the moment good gentllmen and fair ladies, and wise computers, I shall let otehrs have they say now"

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

*Hewitt leans back casually, quietly munching on various pieces of food from a nearby plate as the discussion goes on. He watches on as one by one the various captains voice their options on the situation, taking careful notice of what was being said around the large table. Other captains like himself were doing likewise as their more vocal companions spoke he noticed as were the two admirals at the head of the table... or at least it seemed that way. Hewitt couldn't help but notice a bit of tension there.
Suddenly he realised he was staring and with some effort focused back on the discussion at hand. With a single choice now being favoured, Hewitt decided now was the time to add his two cents worth. He had afterall picked up on what he considered to be a few 'misinterpetations'. Waiting for the nod, Hewitt grabbed his crutchs and pulled himself to his feet.*

Well it seems pretty clear to me on what you have decided on, can't go past the borg because they will kill us, can't go through the debris field because things might jump out at us and kill us nor can we take our chances going through an uncharted region of plasma activity because we will be blind, powerless and will most likely kill ourselves.

*Hewitt grins slightly as if amused with what he just said.*

So that leaves the last passage, rumored to possess some kind of ancient ruins of an unknown advanced race I believe yes? You know I'm surprised no one has considered the possiblitity of whatever destroyed this species might still hanging around just waiting to kill us.

*So far so good. He had at least now shown that he was listening. Hewitt pauses to consider what to say next.*

Normally I would make for the debris field in this situation. I could hide, I could use my fighters to uncover and/or launch ambushes but more importantly I could savage from the surrounding field for resources and spare parts. As it is however, we have all the parts we need plus there's no way in hell we could get the motherships through that mess in a hurry. No I guess we will have to make a head long rush into uncharted space and hope for the best. Might have time to stop and pick up a few alien artifacts even, I just hope that if by chance we do discover the destroyers of this 'advanced' race that they are not the swarm.

That's all I have to say for now. I hope this bump on my noggen here didn't scramble up what I had to say too much for ya.

*Grinning again in that half amused fashion of his, Hewitt gently lowers his broken form back down in his seat and looks around to see what kind of reacon his little speech made, if any.*

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

Footsteps echo'ed down the long hallway, Farle stood in the middle, looking around at the green tinted light that seemed to infect all around it. He started to walk toward the door at the end of the hall, but every step he took made the door go further and further away.

There was a scream, he ran, ran toward the door, it started to get closer and he finally wrapped his hand around the handle. He pushed it.

-------Whiteout--------

Farle stood in a hospital room, a gurney stood in the middle of the room, it called to him, whispering. On the gurney lay a bloody sheet, covering a corpse, he pulled back the sheet.

He saw himself, lying on that cold dead slab of metal. He looked at his hand, blood seeped from his fingers, pouring from some unknown wound.

The blood of Fallen Angels

He started to laugh, his face a twisted version of the original, manically he watched the bloody pour from his wounded hands. He started to fall about the room, knocking over instrument palletes, stands and equipment. Farle fell to his knees, he started to stand, still laughing as the blood pooled around him, he suddenly became aware of someone behind him.

He stopped laughing and span round.

He saw himself in the mirror, but his reflection was looking Through him, there were loads of them. Farle took a step back, knocking over another stand, the reflections all looked at him. Their stony gaze pierced his soul, cutting through his flesh like icy daggers, they raised their collective fingers and pointed at him.

They opened their mouths, Farle fell back into a chair.....

-----

He breathed in deeply, his muscles tense, he was sitting in one of the chairs at the briefing, his indana jones hat covering his eye's slightly. He pushed it up with a finger, taking in what was around the room, he spotted afew people, all uninteresting. He then spotting the drone, hovering in the room. He was immediently interested in the design and the link it had to it's main ship.

Another Ai? No, must be a pilot somewhere who doesn't like to show him or herself.

He listened only vaguely to the talk around the room, he concentrated on his Neural link, attempting to attach a line to the drone and hopefully come into contact with the owner of the drone. He took a moment to cast his vote.

"Borg, maybe they know we are coming. Plasma storms would be too dangerous for the motherships. Lets go for the advanced species. Sounds like fun."

He concentrated on the drone again, attempting to connect.

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

A bright pinprick of light formed in a sector close to the station, it gleamed for a second as a piercing white light before it exploded in a blinding flash, a green tunnel like anomaly was in it's place. A rectangular form cascaded through the opening slowing down as it did, with another flash the tunnel closed and the now obvious form of a ship glided foward.

"Well that was too close, did you scan for any survivors"

"Just before we entered the transwarp conduit, and no as far as I could detect only the swarm and space dust was left"

It was all just a routine test of all the systems, the neural link had been repaired after the previous..... incident and all systems tested fine, however mid way through he lost contact with the station, it seemed like another bug to be worked out of the comm system, however when he reached the station all he found was the swarm and dust, it must have been so quick having lost contact so quickly. With the mere thought the nacelles were docked and the computer had plotted course to the nearest known stronghold not too far away.

So here he was, alone it seemed.

"Scan for the station and hail them, raise shields however and charge weapons just incase"

"station found, hailing............"

The nacelles unfolded and the ship returned to its natural large fighter like form.

"This is the Corinthian Mk4 requesting permission to land"

"Permission granted, proceed to docking point 4"

Meaker sighed
"Lower shields and deactive the phaser, take us in"

With a quick jump to warp the ship was on an aproach to the station, taking an arc like trajectory to the docking point and then came to rest.

"I have not seen such a collection of ships for a LONG time, must be something important, since I have nothing better to do with this ship."

Meaker stepped off onto the station, cleanly dressed in the federation uniform but still wearing the neural headset.

"I will see you later, get the station to do what repairs it can and lockdown for now" Meaker got a few strange looks and realised he was talking out loud to no one, he reminded himself that he was now in company and made a mental note not to repeat the mistake.

The ship could be seen to power down and the blue hue from the engines fade, if not completly go out. Meaker set out finding out what was going on.

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

[ooc] Whoa sweet new smilies. [ooc/]

"After taking into account all that has been said I seem to think the route with the remenats of a advance race is a little too er... well suitied to our needs. It is almost as if we are being herded into it. This upset's me. Now my ship is cappable of short point to point jumps so We could handle the deibris field, also I have my phase cloak, provided it doesn't burn out I can scout any area's Unthreatened. My ship is avilable for any scout or sneak attacks you may need.
With that offer out of the way I would like to bring something up. Seeing how I probaly won't be able to change any of your minds, I have a idea. As many have brought up, that debris field is perfect for a ambush but if we don't come through there and there is a ambush waiting they will know we took a diffrent course. They won't need to worry about reinforcing the borg and I don't think they're dumb enough to risk their force in the plasma storms, because they have larger numbers and we would have a advantage in manuvrabilty. This leaves them with the choice of the Alien Ruins. If we were to send a small diversionary force into the debris field they would think either that force was a scout force or that our numbers were greatly diminshed and that was all they had to deal with. Either way that ambush force would be too busy to come in behind our main force and kill us.
Take this into consideration Admirals."

*With that Wo2 sat back down in his seat and signaled the nearby waiter.*

Bakan is a jewel in the roughBakan is a jewel in the roughBakan is a jewel in the rough
Re: Onslaught: The Flight

*Listening to the conversations, Bakan looks at the various captains. Each of them from a variety of allainces, with different technologies, yet all threatened by the same threat. Feeling his com-link vibrate, Bakan reaches for it, and sees Yettevia also pull out a comlink at the same time. Frowning, Bakan quickly raises it to his ear.*

Bakan: "Yes, what is going on?"

"First, this is science officer chief Nim, Wayland station has reported sensor contact with Swarm ships, looks to be primarily Gou'uld ships, estimating about 25 motherships, 2 command cruisers, with full compliment of deathgliders and bombers."

Bakan: "Shit... status."

"All repairs have been completed on all ships in the fleet. Sir, what about the station personal?"

Bakan: "Distribute them among the ships, have themfill up the escort fleet and bring their crew compliments to recommended, then start overbooking, leave no man behind."

"Aye sir, apparently Admiral Yettevia is already ordering her crew to do the same."

*Looking across the table, Bakan sees Admiral Yettevia wink at him shyly and continue speaking into her comlink.*

Bakan: "Impossible women, alrighty, get ready to depart, charge up the hyper-slipstream core, we may need to create our own exit."

"Aye sir, but what about course?"

Bakan: "No set vector, we shall decide once we are spaceborn."

*Shutting off the comlink, Bakan stands quickly, looking at the captains.*

Bakan: "People, we have a problem, we have a small fleet of Gou'uld ships inbound. Estimating approximenty 30 minutes till they are here. Your orders are to form up with the motherships, we will be exiting. If the path to the hyper-slipstream gate is clear, we will go that way, otherwise.... we will have to risk the hyper-slipstream cores onboard the motherships. Also, station personal are evacuating this station, they will be filling out your missing crew. Good luck."

*Heading to the door, Bakan turns and sees Admiral Yettevia look at him and approach.*

Yettevia: "Listen, we have a few ships, they will be joining your fleet also.... but they are not much."

Bakan: "Every little bit helps."

Yettevia: "Funny that we should meet again like this."

Bakan: "Yes, after you swore if you saw me you would....well......."

Yettevia: "Well, having our civilization nearly wiped out changes a few things."

*Without warning, Yettevia kisses Bakan. Standing straight, she smiles and exits smartly, leaving Bakan hoping that the other captains didn't see that, nor the redness of his cheeks. Seeing a few looking at him with bemusement, Bakan smiles.*

Bakan: "What are you waiting for, you want to live forever. Let's get out there and kick of Gou'uld ass!"

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

*flapjack quickly tapped his commbadge and told the comms officer to have beamed up pronto, a few seconds later he found himself standing in transporter room 1*

*flapjack then rushed out of the transporter room, not bothering to leave his phaser in the weapons locker as normal and took the first turbolift up to the bridge, which was at that time already filled with activity*

me: No1, repairs status, Operations, what is that enemy force and more importantly, what is our fleet capable off? Comms, standby, there's going to be a lot of comm traffic in a moment. Helm, emergency undocking procedures the moment we get all men aboard

No1: all repairs finished, the ship is back to full power

Operations: that enemy force is well beyond what our fleet can handle, we have to run, now.

No1: all stations reporting battle ready, all hands aboard

Helm: emergency undocking procedures activated, docking clamps released, airlocks locked, impulse engines at full power, bringing the ship about now

*the USS Stellar Voyage quickly undocked, then swerved around, barely missing the station's docking clamps in the process, and hit the drives to full power, bringing the ship up to 1 half impulse in mere seconds, the shields being raised as they cleared spacedock a few moments later*

Helm: we're clear of the spacedock

Tactical: shields up, weapons charging, photon torpedo tubes reporting ready

Operations: that Goa'uld fleet appears to be launching fighters sir, sir, the shuttles and the delta flyer are ready for launch.

me: they fixed the delta flyer? at long last they did? Perfect, we'll need them, launch the shuttles and the delta flyer, they're running escort for now and are to fire at will

Operations: shuttles launching, shuttle 1 away, shuttle 2 away, delta flyer coming into position, launching, delta flyer is away, they're assuming escort positions sir

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

*Crazy slowly rose from his chair, and left the room, not looking at the other captains. He jogged quickly through the large corridors of the station, heading for his ship. His soft footfalls seemed to echo throughout the overly large corridors, then he noticed it wasn't his footfalls. As he rounded a corner, he saw a lot of heavily armed men and women marching onto his ship. He quickly ran past them, and ran onboard, heading straight for the bridge*

"Whats with all the..."

Lt Golokov: "Station personal sir. We have no room for any other crewmen apart from marines. Seems like we're becoming a troop carrier"

"Well I never... We might just need them. Right, get Major..."

LtG: "Already done sir. He's assigning all new marines battle stations. They'll be ready sir"

"Good good. Is she ready to leave?"

LtJ: "Aye sir she is. All repairs have been completed sucesfully. Reactors #1 and #3 have been replaced. All are fully operational. Armour is fully regenerated and shields are at maxium power"
LtG: "All weapons are fully repaired and are at full power."

"Good. As you probably know, there is a large fleet approaching. We're needed out there to kick some ass. Lets launch"

*Crazy took his seat in his command chair, as lights on the bridge started to come on as his ship started powering up. The ship rumbled as the fusion drives powered up, then shook as the main Quantum Gravitic Reactor came online"

Star: "Shake down complete. All engines online. Fusion drive stats is green. Quantum reactor at 100%. All extra persoal on board. All airlocks sealed. We're clear for launch"

"Hit it."

*The docking clamps released the Darkstar, which immeditly turned on the spot, there being plenty of room in the large docking bay for this, and shot out of the docks, before the docking bay doors had even fully opened*

"Give me full power on all weapons. Start charing up the main cannon. Divert reactor #2 to armour regeneration. Seal all external sectors."

LtJ: "Roger that. Diverting power. Armour regeneration is at 100%. Feeding power into armour now."
LtG: "All weapons are online. Main cannon is at 10% charge and rising."
Star: "Preparing fighters for launch"

"We have our fighters back? Woah. Good news there. Why didn't anyone tell me?"
LtJ: "News to us as well sir. Waypoint didn't have the right technology to rebuild our fighters. Star must have done it herself"

"Well I ne... Good. Star, bring us onto attack vector of the Gou'uld fleet. Ahead one third. Lets wait for the other ships to join us before we go rushing in"

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

Swinging his legs from the side of the bed, gently, and slowly as not to disturb the sleeping beauty, Drake bows his head and sobs. Quietly, his hands rise to his face to cover his eyes, images flashing into his mind of the mines on io, and the flagship endeavor, pride of the Space core and his first love, Andrea Hawks, the commandant of the ‘Torturers’ as they were so aptly dubbed. He sobs again, the faces of each man in his crew, his squad, his brothers…

…Time, is a very bad healer it seems. Wiping his eyes, he pulls his worn silk shirt over to him, cursing softly, in truth, quite appropriately, at his weakness. Stabilizing his mentality, and grinding his feet into the deck, he just sits there, as the tears stream passed his arms defenses, down his face to start forming into small drips that quickly became puddles on his clutched silk shirt. For a moment, he sits barely still. Breathing hard, Drake, awash with fear interjected with anger allows the perfect tear to fall, before his rhythmic sobbing breaks the stream. Raising himself slowly, the dim lights of the cabin reflecting on the water, creating a wash of melodramatic, yet so close to home emotions, wielded by an unproficent warrior with a heart for battle and nothing else.

Raising his head to the ceiling, drake swings on his shirt, grabs his sash, tying it tightly across his chest, wincing as the bruises from last night, and the alien combatants take their toll on his anatomy. Pulling his loose white trousers up over his well toned legs, Drake buttons himself, before turning to the woman he loves, laying in between the silk sheets, undressed, and unassisted. Looking so serene, he decides not to wake her, before blowing her a kiss, and mouthing I love you in her direction. Walking out the door, and closing it quietly behind him, He whispers:

“I don’t deserve her. I don’t deserve any of this…”

Crossing the decks corridor, its musty air drifting into his lungs, Drake ducks under the hanging wires, and torn roof panels, to enter the doorless room, in which his silver sword; Terminus Est, as the blades inscription reads, lays. Grasping its worn leather hilt, he hefts it swiftly into its loose sheath, which he equally swiftly swings to his sash, tucking it neatly into place without a second thought. Opening the door next to him, a tall pine structure with heavy locks, and a rustic, 18th century American feel, Drake begins to shuffle around the contents, until he draws out a long leather coat, branded with the space core captain’s rank on the left lapel. Donning it, he turns toward the door, and heads out along the dusty corridor toward the airlock. The ship shakes, as the docking clamps release. Unaware, Drake turns directly toward the bridge, and runs like someone possessed. Jumping the last feet to the old ladder, he begins scaling the rungs, catching the hatch seconds before it is shut. Catching his breath, Drake looks at the men.

“What’s happening?”
“We’re leaving. Apparently the station is under attack. Which is never a good thing.”
“Quite true that. Feel like opening me 2 comm. channels?”
“Where to, ill see what we can do.”
“Firstly. The Admiral Bakan. I’ve got a few suggestions I would like to make.”
“Ok, the second.”
“The titanium angel I believe it’s called. A mechanoid in design.”
“I can see where this is heading.”
“The first is open drake.”

Drake sits down, and takes his comm. piece and connects it to his ear and neck. Speaking slowly and calmly he continues.
“I need that second channel.”
“Ok. You have it.”
“Thank you.”

Pressing the collection of buttons on the comm. unit, to save time, he begins to speak.
“Admiral, Good Captain. I have a suggestion. I’m just very late in making it.”
Without waiting for a response, Drake smirks.
“I offer to lead a party into the debris field. They may expect us to discount that direction of travel, and I put this to you. They could flank us, with any kind of hyper speed drive. I think, a selection of small ships perhaps mine and god willing, the good captains there, could sneak in undetected and engage any threats, to the last if necessary. Please let me know what you think. Drake out.”

Looking at the crew, he knows what they think. The bleak silence that has gathered was enough to tell him that. Smirking again, He calls for some action.
“Bring us out, full thrusters. Then take us into the midst of those motherships. I think we can handle at least one, so I hope you’ve got your targeters checked. What is the status of our weapons?”
“Fully operational sir. The new additions are working fine, and the lasers are charged to capacity.”
“The last stand?”
“Powered, and ready sir.”
“Thank you men. Take us out…”

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

*Hewitt jumped out of his chair as fast as his crutches would let him and proceeded to move out of the conference room.

In the rush he was nearly knocked over on no less than three occasions.*

Hewitt: God damn it people do you mind! I'm hobbling as fast as I can ffs...

A few minutes later on the bridge of the Yamato...

No.1: Oh you finally made it sir. And here I was thinking we'd have to leave without you...

Hewitt: Haha, very funny. Just tell me if the MD can fix me up properly now.

No.1: That and much more so I've heard, I hear he has a few 'nano-lathes' from the station supplies onboard calirated for what he says is for treating misalignments in 'overall exterior structure'.

Hewitt: Wait a minute... we are facing the end of humanity here, the swarm is ready to add us to their collection, we are at the highest alert possible and you're telling me the head doctor aboard this vessel has been busy playing around with cosmetic surgery!?

No.1: So I've heard sir.

*Just then Hewitt catches sight of the sensor officer struting to her workstation. Where normally Hewitt would say she was handsome at best in her clean and crisp uniform, now he couldn't but watch intently as she walked up in a newly tailored outfit that amply displayed all of her sensual curves. Curves that Hewitt was most definately certain were not so generous the last he saw her.*

SO: Oh, good to see you still on your feet sir. I hear you took a rather nasty fall eariler.

*Hewitt just nodded silently as the drop dead gorgeous SO continued to walk on by.*

No.1: Good for morale yes?

Hewitt: Yes indeed... *eyes still following the SO's gracefully long legs* Hmm...

*Hewitt suddenly realises what he is doing and blushes immensely.*

Hewitt: *ahem* Ok, the MD gets a gold star for that one. Now quickly No.1, give me an overall summary of everything important on the status of the Yamato. There's a fleet of swarm ships headed this way and I want to be away from the docks this time.

No.1: Already!? Um, I mean yes sir. First off all damage has been repaired, all our weaponary is now functional and the problem with the fluctuating power levels has been fixed.

Hewitt: The Wave Motion Gun?

No.1: Fully functional sir.

Hewitt: Excccceeeeellllleeeeennnnntttt...

No.1: What else... oh yes, you are probably aware we have a few new passengers namely the repair crews who worked on our ship as well as their families. There is also a number of personnel of varing trades from the station and we now even have a few marine companies onboard. It's a little crowded but we can manage sir.

Hewitt: Good, good anyone coming? Have we got all the supplies loaded?

No.1: There's some more crates and a few more people that have been assigned to this ship that are yet to come aboard but they are all on our way. The ships engines were started when the general evac message was received and the EO tells me they are almost completely powered up. In short sir we should be ready to launch in approximately three minutes.

Hewitt: Ok then. I'm going to head for the med bay to get patched up. In three minutes I want you to commense the undocking procedures and get us into open space. I should be back by then to take control and get us ready for the swarm, but if not launch our fighters and just go with you're gut until then. You got that No.1?

No.1: Loud and clear sir.

*Three minutes later the old battleship is detaching herself from the Wayland shipyards. She rolls to starboard a little as her thrusters push her immense bulk gently away from the docking clamps. Once she is clear by about ten metres her fusion drives kick in and begin to move her forward towards the large armour-plated doors protecting the intenal docking yard. Soon a gap appears between the two sides of the immense gateway filling the chamber with a series of creaks and groans as it grows wider. As the Yamato approaches the gap becomes wide enough allowing her to pass through without a single pause in her forward momentum. Light from Wayland's sun reaches the ship as she emerges and her newly repaired hull gleams a bright silver as a result. The effect gives the old warship an appearance of a being a new ship-of-the-line, going out on her maiden voyage. One look at her exposed weapons layout would immediately dispell that illusion but in their own way they had to the grandeur of the brief spectical. They were brought online and suddenly it almost seemed as if the Yamato had transformed into some large grey beast lined with gun turrets instead of hairs, all bristling with pent up energy. Three at a time specks appeared from the bow of the powling vessel until no less than fifty-six buzzed around the large silver hull, busy getting into pre-determined positions above sections of her hull. They were the imfamous Black Tiger Squadron. A vast collection of some of the most experienced ex-freelance fighter pilots from this part of the galaxy. All the squad leaders were old friends from Hewitt's smuggling years almost a decade ago, good men and women if perhaps lacking a little on the moral-side. Perfect fleas for the old grey beast to carry.

And so it was like this that the Yamato had entered the battlezone, ready and able. Deep within her did nearly 4,000 souls fiddle with fear, anticipation and deternation as the enemy drew near. For deep within their hearts they knew it was not honor nor glory they were fighting for, neither was it for wealth and personal gain. No, the big prize at the end of it all would be survival, not just for them but for all mankind.

And they knew that for mankind to achieve this goal they would have to put all past misgivings aside, all fear and doubt. They must transcend all mental and physical boundries hey had imposed on themselves in order to achieve a common goal.

To win this war, mankind would have to become as one...

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

As the alarm sounded, Fluffie looked around the room. Almost immidiatly, everyone quickly left, making way to their respective ships as quickly as they could. Doing so as well, the Admiral was slightly worried about the many extra people aboard his Dreadnaughts. When normally crewed, his ships already were like flying cities - now it would be even worse. He just hoped his Captains were being graceful about it, there was room aboard the ships for both extra passengers and supplies, they'd just need to be stowed away in such a fashion that they wouldn't hinder the combat crews.

Nearing his docking arm, Fluffie watched the other ships docked with the station through a window. All ships appeared to be powering up their drives and readying for departure and combat. A look at his own Dreadnaught and the other, the Minotaur, showed much the same status. The drives seemed to be nearing the end of their charging sequence judging by the sight of them, which meant that all ship's systems ought to be working fully by the time he'd be on the bridge.

Nodding at the troopers at the airlock, Fluffie quickly hurried inside, making his way past the repairs crews (now only finishing their touches) and the new passengers - station repair crews and marines, as well as their families and other assorted people, all giving him enough way to quickly stride through the corridors.

The doors hissed open and the Admiral quickly made his way to the front of the bridge, being met by his Captain there.

(Captain) "We are ready to go, Minotaur reports she is ready to. We're both just finishing loading extra supplies and passengers, because...."

(Admiral, interrupting the Captain) "I know. As soon as we are finished with loading, gets us free from the station and facing those incomings."

(Captain) "Admiral, I will inform the Minotaur."

Fluffie nodded and leaned down with his arms on a console, looking through some stats.

Not much later, the two Dreadnaughts followed the BATTLESHIP YAMATO out of the spacedock, waiting for more sensor data to come through as the pilots rushed to their TIEs and while the gunnery crews readied their turrets.....

Sat;s voice repating the communcations from the rather tardy captain, grinnign being one few left in the breifing room now in no hury to move.
"I take it you agree with me on this one, the captian has a point from tactical view, besides to the last soudns like fun"
A wild grin curling across his lip.
"Be damned with consequneces send a reply through that we shall aid in this operation for the path of the fallen is a drak one, pity is beyond my grasp I am as dead as the space we fly in."
Geth'lath grins turing to serious look getting up with sudden burst of energy ewatlzing out of the room before stopping and spinng about his foot.
"Good day to you all, may your kills be many and plentifull"
Bowing down in curtious manner befiting his planets customs sharply baring his teeth like a wild animal the lust of the huint filling his veins with an empowering feelings.

Jumping into the ****pit of the Titanium Angel barging past a technican ggawking at its cramp but technonlgy packed interior.
"Least you got rid of him, fool has been poking at staring at me for minutes now."
Sat;s voice clear within his mind
"And the reason you didnt crush him was?, dont tell me I can guess. Have you sent the message yet?"
Silence reigned for a few seconds
"Well no you didnt tell me what to send"

Sighing heavly gritting his teeth
"Fine patch me though, This is the captain of the Titanium Angel, in reply to your most graciously put message we of the titanium angel have come to a verdict to the formention plan from my learned counterpart. That being we agree to exploring the asteroid belt, and fend of possible attacks, but i will make clear that my aims are far from noble but simple to satisfy my thirst for battle, I will sue every and any means at my disposal including using allied ships if need be"
Leaning back into his padded chair, letting it envelop him a little, feeling the heat rise from it radaitng his back easing his muscles.
"Now we wait for a responce they cant say we lied about our intentions anyway"

The Titanium Angel pulsed with energy streaks, looking an ominous sight to behold to the faint hearted, being fully operational again.

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

Captain Kriegern of the UNSF Bemühung paced down the corridors of the massive Wayland station, heading for the briefing room. He rounded a corner and, as he did so, lifted his left arm, pushing back the cuff of his dark blue uniform as he did so to reveal an antique wristwatch, of the non-digital kind. It was a family heirloom that had been passed down from father to son through the Kriegern family for generations. His father had died wearing the watch, gutted by shrapnel from an exploding power cell as he stood steadfastly on the bridge of his Strike Carrier, surrounded and being torn to pieces by heavy weapons fire from two cruisers loyal to the Biological Warfare Division. His father's brave rearguard action against the Bio Division fleet sent to quash the Sorren Rebellion had since been cited as one of the key engagements of the war, one that had allowed the rebellion to continue, but had cost his life and the lives of many of his crew, the rest captured. Somehow, the watch had survived and come into the present Captain Kriegern's hands. The present Captain Kreigern made a point of wearing it everywhere he went, in the hope that the heroism and tactical prowess of his ancestors might rub off on him. The disadvantage to this belief was that the old watch was far less precise that modern timepieces, its erratic behavior often making him late or early for important events, as now. The Captain dropped the arm to his side again, and squinted at a plaque on the wall as he passed it. The briefing room was just down the corridor. The Captain continued his steady march toward it, and was relieved to, at last, see the sliding door that provided entry into the room. Just as the Captain was about to reach the portal, it opened in front of him. Out came a tall figure walking hurriedly and rather clumsily, the latter suspicion on the part of the Captain confirmed when the figure walked right into him. Jumping back and muttering similarly hurried apologies under his breath, the tall figure jumped back and brought his eyes to bear on the Captain's face. The figure immediately threw himself sharply to attention, oblivious to the other Federation and Federation-allied officers passing by them. It was at this point that Captain Kriegern recognised Commander Raquib Amir of the UNSF Defiant, a Patrol Frigate that the Bemühung had run a few missions with. Although Karl Kriegern was secretly pleased that Amir had remembered his rank, he dismissed the salute in an off-hand manner.

"No need for the salute, Commander Amir. Protocol has gone to hell these past few months." The Captain said in a weary voice, then "Did I miss the meeting?"

Raquib Amir dropped back to a normal stance, visible relief on his face. "Afraid so, sir." He replied. "You'd better get back to the Bemühung, sir, Fleet Admiral Bakan reported a small fleet of Gou'uld ships on the way."

"Affirm, but I'm short of cr-"

"Fleet Admiral Bakan has ordered Wayland Station evacuated immediately, sir, and authorised us to press gang station personnel into service on our ships." Amir said quickly, predicting Kriegern's question. Amir was a quick thinker, Karl remembered.

"Not his own words, I'm sure. I'd love to catch up on old times with you, Raquib, but we've not a moment to lose. Maybe I'll see you in the officer's mess on the other side." Kriegern said. Amir had been a Lieutenant on the Bemühung immediately after its commission, which was how the two knew eachother. Apparently he was performing well as commander of the Defiant. Amir nodded hastily, saluted again out of force of habit, and then paced off toward his frigate, berthed on the other side of the station from the Bemühung.

The Red Sky At Dawn, meanwhile, was already preparing itself for launch, along with the first launch of the LSV, which was now rapidly nearing completion in the larger warship's construction bay. No Dachi guided the drone replica of itself through the passenger door and into a storage bay before deactivating it, concnetrating half on launching, readying his armoury and monitoring the oncoming Gou'uld and half on the ethical dilemma he was facing. He had to launch the LSV now, it was already conscious (or very shortly would be) and he was not willing to run the risk of two shipminds perishing if the Red Sky At Dawn took a critical hit. However, the swarm had attacked Wayland more quickly than the ancient warship had been expecting, and No Dachi was well aware that it would not have nearly enough time to train the smaller LSV in the manner that it itself had been trained. In ten seconds, it had come to a desicion, possibly the longest it had ever considered any problem. The Red Sky At Dawn would violate the Ancients' law of training new shipminds, and would include all of the relevant data regarding navigation, combat, science, etiquette, communications, etc and all of the reference data regarding starmaps, known galactic superpowers, etc that shipmind were required to know in the LSV's memory when it 'awoke'. It would 'teach' the LSV ethics and morality and how to deal with biological entities, of duty and honour and such, itself. It was a poor compromise, of this the Red Sky At Dawn knew, and the warship could only hope that the Ancients would forgive the misconduct in respect of circumstance when the it did, eventually, find them (for No Dachi was now fully confident that some vestige of Ancient civilization remained, somewhere). The Red Sky At Dawn fired its starboard manouevreing thrusters as it pulled away from the Wayland station, loading all eight (now) fully-operational missile pods as it did so. Even as it did this, a new entity came to life in the crimson warship's gigantic construction bay...

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

Meaker, desperatly trying to ask people what was going on suddenly realised one important fact, they were running in the oposite direction.

"Oh Sh....."

With only a thought the ship on docking point 4 suddenly lit up.
Meaker ran from where he had come, trying to remember where his ship was, after a few minutes he found docking point 4 and ran into the Corinthian Mk4, before he even reached the bridge the ship had undocked from the station and powered up the shields. Diving into his chair Meaker settled in for what he assumed would be a bumpy ride.

"Hail the lead ship and request tactical data, feed them tactical information our ship and its capabilites"

"Sending..... request and data transfur sent........"

Operations: Sir, i'm picking up another ship that appears to be of federation design, but the computer won't give me any info on it

me: my panel, now

Operations: it's there

*flapjack quickly looked over the message from the computer, cursed out loud and entered several access codes*

me: that's a Corinthian class vessel, top secret, i've unlocked the data banks since there spies are no longer a threat, comms, give me a comm channel to that vessel, now!

*a few short moments went by while the communications officer set up a channel to the Corinthian mk4*

comms: channel open sir

*flapjack slowly rose from his chair before speaking*
"Unknown Corinthian class vessel, this is captain Flapjack of the USS Stellar Voyage, please identify yourself"

me: hmm, well, nice to see another federation ship coming around, No1, what do you think of its combat capability?

No1: well, it only has that forward phaser, it appears to be as fast and maneuverable as our delta flyer, but i think that phaser will pack a lot of a punch, not mention it has a transwarp drive, we might be able to build our own transwarp drive with a little help

me: very well, comms, return the following message: Corinthian mk4, we are happy to have you on our team and are requesting you join our formation, as you may have noticed we're making a run for the Hyper-slipstream gate, again

tactical: ooh, i get to shoot again

* All the engines powered up, every safety check completed, each crew member in place, all the weapons at full ability, The Helsceağa finally leaves the docking station and zips out to meet the rest of its fleet. *

* Bealdor Cræctosis looks out at the vacuum of space, contemplating how such a sea of emptiness, of nothing, could hold people, including himself, for years on end. How that such an insignificant area of dimension could be so important, so vital in the defence of one's own land and people. *

Cwild: We're coming up on the main fleet now sir.

* Snapping out of his daydream, Cræctosis falls into his battle mode, his ancient mind already concocting strategies and plans. *

Cræctosis: Excellent. Arm all weapons, shields up, and hold on. We're going in.

*Donavan looked at Becker, and smiled. Both men turned and ran from the room, back towards their respective ships. A short distance and a teleplate trip later, they both arrived at the ETF vessels. The Dellani and Striker Draconis launched in concert, boarding tubes creaking and straining under the stress of being released too quickly. The weapons powered, and the engines thrummed with released energy. The two ships arrowed away from the already doomed station, towards the already moving motherships. The holographic image on the Striker's bridge changed to that of Becker's face.*

Becker: What's the plan?

"For now, just form up with the other friendly vessels. I just hope Bakan decides where we're going quickly."

Becker: As do I.

*He faded out and the tactical display returned. Donovan sat back and waited for the horde to arrive.*

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

"No time to wait around I guess, lets get a move on and hope we get a reply from that captain before I get bored here."
Randomly muttering aloud as the Titanium Angel jerked forward free of the clamps holding it in place, moving forward with ease out of the hold doorway. Slidng down under a larger capital ship caterpaulting across to the mothership using the force of a push against the vessels hull. Slight scrape of sparks fly in the blackness of space. Tapping annoyingly at his skull a little
"This interface is not perfected yet that was a little to shalow of a tragetory and not enough force in the push"
The Mecha skipping across the hull of one of the motherships pushing it self from odd sensor array or misshaped piece of hull to save energy.
"Cant be helped this is experimental after all, the designers we not sure how well it wold work to begin with accoridng to my records. Im confident the link will grow stronger though that or it will leave you braindead in an extreme rejevction scenario, thats what I assertain from the mathmatical equasions anyway"
Geth'laths face twisting ironicly
"Thanks for the warning, makes me feel a whole lot better now"
A sarcastic tone about his words.

The Titanium Angel clearing the hull of the mothership working its way into the fleet udner its own power, the stalks upon the mecha's back opening to reveal glwoing crystals pushing it forward with speed spotting the ships he was after emering from where it was docked, the source of hte transmission earlier. Taking a deep breath feeling his lungs burn with the effort, the sytale reclyed air in his jump suit barly tolrrale as it was starting to fail more often.
"Remind me to get a new suit at some point, switch ont he air systems power use or no ill suffocate in this at the rate its going"
A hiss filled the cabin as a mixture of oxygen and inert gases filled the cabin, flicking the latch holding his helmet in place pulling it off. Dragging some of his hair up with it, bringing itself back down inder its own weight, landing scruffle back ontop of his head. Taking another breath into his lungs, feeling them purifed with every breath now, feeling cleaner somehow. A feeling of ease starting to rise in him on odd ocasion he could feel serene and peacefull he savoured it for as long as he could these days.
"There has to be more to life than hate, but its all beyond my grasp. Im nothing but killer that canot change anymore a killer that people have put faith in to protect them. Who's the more foolish in this case me or them?"
Muttierng softly not expecting an answer to his question, Sat certianly didnt have the answers, least he didnt answer, there was no one else to turn to these days although somthing lurked depewithin his mind. A time that seemed so simple filled with some hope but covered in darkness and storms averting its presence from him.
"All alone"
Wearly speaking an unseen weight of guilt strating to press down on his shoudlers more and more, but it didnt seme to matter anymore even if he stopped it would always be there.

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

*Reaching the command deck of mothership #3, Bakan looks at the tatical holograms as they swirl and spin, showing the enemy and friendly fleets from all conceivable angles.*

Bakan: "Status?"

Engineering: "Sir, all systems are at 100%."

Tatical: "Escort fleet has launched. Enemy fleet is approaching, they will be entering firing range very..... oh shit, sir about 10 motherships just cloaked!"

Bakan: "Science officer, get me a detailed scan now, tie into the Wayland stations sensors if you have to, I want those ships found!!"

Science Officer: "Scanning, found..... crap.... they have decloaked next to one of our escorts, Intrepid class ship, they are firing...."

*Next to Steller Voyage 10 motherships decloak, and start firing. The Steller Voyage banks and turns rapidly, but the sheer amount of firepower from the laser and plasma cannons overwhelm her shields, collapsing them. A volley of shots strikes the port nacelle, causing it to flare, glow bright then explode, sending the ship into a uncontrollable spin, while inside the feedback causes the ware core to become unstable, and the ship starts automatic ejection routines. Another volley of shots punches clear through the saucer section of the ship, narrowly missing the bridge but taking out the port fore main phaser batteries. By this point the Steller Voyage in it's uncontrolled spin travelled deeper into friendly formations, and the motherships break away, cloaking again, but not before firing lbue beams onto each ship in the fleet that cause literally no damage.*

Bakan: "Who's ship was that?"

Science Officer: "One Captain Flapjacks vessel sir. Heavily damaged by the looks of it, they somehow managed to stabilize their hyperspace cores and cloaking fields. Crap, that last beam they fired, it was a taychon particle tracer, they can track our course."

Bakan: "Sonofa..... We got to get out of here NOW! Navigation, charge up the slipstream core and inform the other ships to do so as well."

Navigation: "Sir, we need at least 5 minutes to calculate a safe vector, not to mention sync them together. And they will be able to follow us."

Bakan: "We have the 4 courses pre-selected into our databases, right?"

Navigation: "Yes sir."

Bakan: "Order all motherships to pick a random course. This will be a blind jump, thus random ships will be travelling with random motherships. Their order's, to loose all sign of enemy ships following them and regroup at Terra Nova."

Communications: "Sending orders."

Navigation: "Charging core. We need about 10 minutes to get the core fully charged (2 DM POSTS)."

Tatical: "Enemy ships moving in, looks like they got reinforcements, 50 Gou'old motherships, 5 super-motherships, wait.... 25 motheships just cloaked, they could be anywhere. They all have launched deathgliders."

Bakan: "Order all ships to stay in close, protect the motherships. Tell them if they don't stay in close, they will be left behind."

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

Bringing about the Titanium Angel within a second of the thought, the staff appearing within the grasp of its hands. A pulse of energy being sent through its body, four lasers deatching from its back hovering the mecha sending out bursts of energy for a few seconds cutting cleanly into some death gliders sending some spinning into a bal of flame or bent metal. Bringing down the staff the vey last second the end changing to a blade, cutting through another death glider with ease, zipping sideways to bring the blade up slicing another one cleanly in two some of its freinds beings dispatched by laser fire.

"Keep those lasers clear of the larger ships feild of fire, we cant replace them once their destroyed."
Geth'lath a little agitated at all the scene going on around him, feeling the pressure of headche theating to drum at his skull any moment. Being feed information directly was alright for speed but in midlde of battle it left a lot to be concentrated on, leaving little time to think.
Feeling the hull being hit like tingling feelings along his body pin pointing the hits directions with ease as a result. Two of the laser packs quickly breaking away cirlcing a death glider, seconds later its cut in half by oppersite beams of laser energy cutting into its metal hulls. the two others joining into the fray as all four link togethor to create a spinning wheel of death, firing in combaintions two at a time ensuring a contant rate of laser fire flinging into the mixture of allied and enemy ships as they clash in their battle the wepaons of war favouring few this night cutting down allied and enemy alike.
"Okay thats enough bring them back, that should create enough of an impact to scatter the fighter squads.2
Ignoring Sat's responce of confirmation as his headache seemed to carry on pounding, like a drumer keeping a crews rowing in step.
The Titanium Angel jolting forward as the laser re-attach Geth'lath grinning as the mecha makes a quick spin imbedding one ends of the swords into a death glider, all four lasers firing for a few seconds cutting across hulls of some of its comrdaes whislt tearing a hole on the impaled fighter.

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

"recieving tactical data, putting on screen"

A huge flash lights up the screen as bolts go flying past and slam into the Stella voyage ripping a rather large hole in it. The ship swerves round the oncoming fire, but gets hit by the tracer beams.

"bring us around and cover that ship!"

The Corinthian Mk4 turns toward the Stella voyage as a horde of gliders approaches, the ship retracts its nacelles charging at the gliders the cannon charges and a large phaser beam bursts from the barrel slamming into several gliders either vapourising them or sending half of them flying off into the distance, now at full impulse speed the ship turns and makes a pass round the stella voyage.

"status of that ship"

"severely dammaged, one nacelle is blown and a good portion of the middle is a mess"

"transport some spare materials abord and some of the repair bots we have been working on, they at least should be able to help with the main section of the ship even if the nacelle is beyond them, take us around and see if we can get to some of those uncloaked motherships."

With another sharp bank the ship comes around and starts its run at the motherships, now at full speed the ships starts evasive manoevers to dodge the incoming fire, the phaser again charges up and fires sustained bursts at 4 of the motherships bridges and tries to retreat back to the main fleet again trying to dodge the vollies, as the ship comes away the nacelles open out again.

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

*flapjack quickly recovered from the impacts, only to see half his bridge in ruins and emergency protocols activating everywhere, flapjack quickly jumped from his seat, his cheif engineer currently knocked out, and ran over to the engineering console, where he immediatly saw the damage was critical and he would have to act fast, thus he did act fast*

*he immediatly activating a plasma dump, dumping all remaining plasma into the starboard warp nacelle and the battery systems, who tough not designed for this kind of operations would easily take the strain, which tough well above nominal was still below the maximum safety limits, flapjack then looked around to see his helm officer was still awake and already busy stabilizing the ship, doing a every good job at it*

*a few moments later the emergency core jettison procedure ended and the warp core ejected itself, the 4 ejection charges giving it a high speed, normally sufficient to get the core far away enough from the ship to allow the ship to survive even if it does detonate, in the meanwhile the helm officer had succeeded in stabilizing the ship, which was now pointing directly towards 1 of the Goa'uld super-motherships*

me: helm, prepare to turn us around and get us as close to 1 of those motherships as possible, tactical, fire at will, operations, emergency jettison procedures for the starboard warp nacelle, we've lost the port nacelle so they're no longer of any use to us now

tactical: targetting and firing

Operations: you want me to do what? that nacelle is loaded with plasma

me: just what I want, helm confirm course, we're heading straight towards 1 of those super-motherships, correct?

helm: dead-on sir, and we'd better start turning fast, without warp drives this ship doesn't turn nearly as fast as it does normally

Operations: ready to dump the starboard nacelle sir, but i still don't know why

me: transfer jettison control to this console, helm keep us on course just a little longer

*flapjack then quickly activated the overrides that would normally prevent the ship from activating its warp drive when either nacelle was damaged, then activated the starboard warp nacelle, allowing it to form a full scale warp field just before he hit the emergency jettison, which in turn released the warp nacelle from the ship with the warp field already at full power and quite a bit of speed, the helm officer immediatly responding by bringing the ship about at full impulse while the operations officer suddenly releasized what Flapjack had just done*

*The moment the warp nacelle was released, its warp field reached full power, sufficient to bring the Intrepid class ship to warp 9 in moments, however rather then having to pull a massive ship to full warp, the nacelle was now suddenly on its own, the plasma injected into it barely enough to keep it going for any more then a few tenths of seconds, but more then enough to allow it to jump to high warp on a collision course with the goa'uld super-mothership, re-emerging from warp at the moment of impact and literally ripping most of the way through before tearing the ship apart from the inside as the nacelle pulled part of the ship into subspace, then the plasma in the nacelle ran out and the self-destruct system that would prevent capture kicked in, destroying the warp nacelle in a blast of a high energy anti-matter explosion*

*the USS Stellar Voyage swiftly turned, despite the loss of both warp nacelles she was still 1 of the more maneuverable ships in the fleet, tough not nearly as maneuverable as before while the ship made a run for it, trying to get close in to the motherships while unleashing its torpedoes towards the motherships and its phasers towards the goa'uld fighters*

helm: i'll try to get us into the shields of 1 of those motherships, that should keep us safe untill we can at the very least stabilize the main systems

Operations: casaulties coming in from all decks, EPS conduits ruptured across decks 4 trough 12, plasma conduits ruptured in cargo bay 2, we have a hull breach in cargo bay 2, port warp nacelle is critically damaged and plasma flow has been sealed, it's still venting plasma, warp core has been ejected, primary plasma conduit to port warp nacelle has ruptured, cargo bay 2 has been sealed, several hull breaches on the forward decks, emergency forcefields are in position and holding, foward shields at 50%, aft shields at 25%, port shields are down, starboard shields at 25%, port shield emitters damaged, forward port phaser array disabled, damage control crews are on it sir

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

[ooc] Sorry about the delay all. You haven't lost me yet. We have been fully repaired right? [/ooc]

*After a long run to his ship and what seemed like forever to chatch up with the fleet, wo2 was final back in action.*

Comm: "Orders have came in sir. We are to saty close to our mothership, were gonna make random jumps and regroup at Terra Nova/"

Wo2: "Blast. I know I requested a distraction but this is hardly what I meant."

SO: "Incoming Deathgliders. Lots of them."

Wo2: Pull usbetween our mothership and the deathgliders, charge up our point defense array. Full power, fire at will.

*The Shadow Wind's engines flared to life and it came in close, over it's mothership. The array of 365 Anti-Fighter turrets began to open up on the incoming Deathgliders, filling space with a flurry of deadly energy. The Death gliders came in fast and opened up with their weapons, but the shield's of the Shadow Wind absorbed them. The death gliders fought with single minded determination, fighting at the human fleet dispite the losses they would take. The Goa'uld had hit one ship, the Stellar Voyager , remarkably hard. Seeing that ship and the death connected to it, made wo2's heart burn in a hatered towards these aggresors. They would not fail in their mission, humanity must not fall.*

WO: "Shields holding."

Wo2: "Target one of the Super-Mother ships and charge the particle beam."

WO: Sir those ships have Planetary class shields.

Wo2: You think I mounted a Planet Destroying super weapon on this ship to use against uninhabited rocks? No It's for blowing holes in things like that. Tell me when the beam is charged.

*The visable motherships began to open up on the fleet, each ship getting a equal beating from their weapons with the 25 cloacked ones still unaccounted for. The Shadow Wind opedned up on the nearst of the motherships with it's Neutron Turrets, designed specificaly for killing off life and leaving the ship with only light damage. The purple pulses flew towards the ship and hit the shields, causing them to glow a ugly purple coulor. The effect of the weapons could still be felt through the shields and was already sickening Jaffa on the ship, but as soon as the shields fell that effect would be quadrupled.*

WO: "Shields have taken moderate damage sir. Particle Beam at 58% and charging."

Wo2: "Don't let up on the weapons."

*The Shadow Wind fired a volley of it's Polaron Missiles at the mother ship. The 30 missiles streaked towards their target. The mother ship saw the missiles and began to fire on them with their weapons. Some of the missiles got hit and ignited in a bright blaze, hiding their brothren from view. The remaining missiles found their mark and exploded in a bright flare where the ship was. When the flare was gone the ship was still their, but it's shields were badly hurt. The Shadow Wind brought it's 15 plasma cannons to bear along with it's Neutron turrets and fired wave after wave of orange and purple shots at the ship. The shield glowed brightly from the impacts, it began to shrink slowly and then collapsed, allowing the shots to hit the ship. Those that surrvived the damage done by the eveloping plasma bolts were killed by the deadly Neutron turrets. The ship was a gnarled, lifeless wreck. Cheers went up on the command deck, for the first kill by the Shadow Wind in this engagement.*

Wo2: "Status?"

WO: "Shields holding but we took some more damage. Particle beam is charged."

Wo2:" Well what are you waiting for? Fire."

*The Shadow Wind stopped and turned sharply, pointing it's front at one of the massive Super-Mother ships. The front of wo2's ship began to blaze with blue-white energy. The bright glow lance out into a beam directed at the mighty ship, the energy cutting a line of destruction on its way through space. The beam slammed hard into the shields of the massive ship and caused that side of the ship to glow brightly. The shields were hit hard but still held after the beam had faded, yet they had been weakened a great deal.*

Wo2: "Get me on comm to the fleet."

Comm: "Your broadcasting sir."

Wo2: "This is Wo2 of the Shadow Wind to all ships in the fleet. The center Super Mothership now has weakened shields. If you have a super weapon or enough fire power you should be able to kill it. Wo2 out."

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

The two Imperial Dreadnaughts steamed through space with a determined pace, most of the weapon emplacements already trimmed at the still out of range threat. Knowing they had been 'painted' by the enemy and already knowing that they weren't agile or maneuverable enough to be fancy anyway, the Dreadnaughts had decided to take on the Swarm's forces head on - no regrets. Back at Bilibige (or whatever) the Thunderer had already fought against unreal odds and survived... She would do the same here, along with her sistership the Minotaur.

However, the Bakan Admiral Dude (B.A.D. ) had other plans. Ordering the fleet back to the Motherships, the Dreadnaughts could do naught but obey - the Motherships were one of the utmost important things in their existince. Beginning to turn about, each Dreadnaught swinging another way, their weapon emplacements opened up, unleashing an hell of laser beams onto the oncoming horde of Deathgliders. Their ranks were gutted as the heavy, forward turbolasers fired their beams at it, followed by the more precise and constant quadlaser turrets as the Dreadnaughts continued heading back to the Motherships.

The TIEs, suprisingly enough, stayed put - not launched. Both Captains who wanted to launch them right away as soon as they had spotted the Deathgliders' launch had been ordered not to do so by the Admiral. He had explained why too - time was short, only ten minutes before they would jump out, without waiting for the fighters to return. Not wanting to sacrifice his men nor his ships, he had given the Captains their orders.

On the bridge of the Thunderer, Fluffie watched on a screen how his ships were rapidly closing with the Motherships again. Turning to the Captain, he nodded at the Minotaur, clearly visible through a 'window'.

"Make sure that when we receive our jump coordinates, she is coming with us - I don't want us seperated."

The Captain nodded and started relaying the order to the Minotaur, occasionally throwing a glance on several view screens, showing the Deathgliders swarming around the Dreadnaughts - not doing much damage and slowly, but steadily, being gunned down by the hail of laser fire. He was happy that there were still no capital ships nearby and he was hoping those would stay away for a while too.

Fluffie was already turning to the droid on his bridge, the droid that represented No Dachi, or better said, the shipmind of the Red Sky At Dawn. Shrugging to clear his throat and partially to get some attention, the Admiral started speaking a few moments later.

"Red Sky, I take it you are still present. I know you already know we will all get different jump co-ordinates, but the Thunderer and the Minotaur will make sure they jump to the same point - we are already setting up a program in our navigation computer that will make sure of that. I was wondering, in the last battle I was honoured fighting along side with you, maybe we could repeat this? If you are willing too, you should try and contact my ship's navigation computer, I will make sure of it that you will have access, so you can join in on the program. Thunderer out."

Awaiting a reply, Fluffie noted the slightly suprised look of his Captain.

"You heard me right when speaking, Captain Patheon. His signal should be recognisable, if he tries, give him access to the routine you are setting up."

Suprised still by letting the other ship in their computer system and by the Admiral calling him by his name, the Captain remained silent, nodded and got back to work.

Outside, the laser fire and continued attacks of the Deathgliders continued. The Dreadnaughts were coming closer to the Motherships again, both moving to form up in formation with the same one.

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

*The Darkstar swiftly dodged between the mass of death gliders, as they were pounded out of the sky by the two large dreadnaughts and other ships. The sleek black ship, spinning, climbing and diving between the fast gou'uld ships, as it headed for the nearest of the motherships.*

LtG: "Target locked. Weapons hot. We're in range"

"Fire"

LtG: "Aye. Firing"

*The Darkstar turned abruptly, facing itself towards a Gou'uld mothership. Its weapon came to life, and purple bolts streamed towards the mothership, which had not till that moment, noticed the Darkstar. As the first shots slammed into the mothership's shields, the attacking ship quickly shot forward, accelerating to high speed before the mothership had locked on to it. The area of space, where it had been moments before was lit up by laser and plasma fire as the mothership attempted to take down the Darkstar.*

LtJ: "Motherships shields down by 25%"
"Bring us around for another pass. See if you can locate their shield generators."
LtJ: "Aye. Scanning them. Detecting four possible sources for the shield generator"
"Target the nearest one and take us in"

*The Darkstar turned on the spot, and shot back towards the mothership without loosing any momentum. It dived, climbed, ducked and spun around the incoming fire from the mothership as it let loose with its array of weapons. The quantum bolts slashed into the motherships shields, causing them to ripple. A few shots pierced the struggling shields and smashed into the ships hull. Explosions ripped a chunk out and sent it rebounding onto the mothership's shields where they were still holding. The lump of hull then bounced back again and smashed into the ship, cutting deep into it*

LtJ: "Number 1 target negative on their shield generator. Locking in number 2 target"

*The Darkstar spun up and around, flying backwards as it fired off another volley at the mothership, before quickly turning, to dodge the incoming fire. The purple quantum bolts once again slammed into the mothership's shields, their energy disippating as the shields strained against the concentrated fire. The shields rippled, flickered, then collapsed as the weapons fire caused a power surge in the shield generator and caused it to overload*

LtG: "Shield generator down. Incoming fighters!"
"Take out that mothership! Star, take us in close. Skim their hull!"
LtJ: "Shields are down to 68%. Their starting to get more accurate with those lasers!"
"Just hold one. Soon there won't be any lasers"

*The Darkstar made a few quick turns, at a high speed. The chasing death gliders struggled to keep on the ship, but the computer enhanced pilot of the Darkstar was too quick. Nine glidgers smashed into each other as they struggled to keep their weapons trained on the black ship, the manuvers of it causing them to fly in each others way. Having delt with the majority of the fighters, the ship quickly turned again towards the mothership, ducking and dodging much of the fire from the ship. The Darkstar quickly closed the distance to the mothership, pounding its hull with weapons fire as it shot past, ducking under the ship, meters from its hull. Explosions ripped across the pyramid section of the ship as the fire from the Darkstar penertrated its hull.*

LtJ: "Major systems are hit. She's listing. I'm pickig up power faliures all over the ship. She's gone"

*As Johnstone spoke, three shots from the mothership slammed into the back of the Darkstar, sending it spinning away from the motherships. The shots, all connecting with the back shields, caused a brief power surge, momentarily cutting power to one of the engines, and causing the ship to make itself spin.*

No Dachi is infamous around these parts
Re: Onslaught: The Flight

The Red Sky At Dawn opened the rear door of its manufacturing bay, the air within the cavernous space rushing out in a desparate attempt to fill the unnatural void beyond. For the first time, the small LSV activated its manouevreing thrusters, first lifting off the work deck of the Red Sky At Dawn, then slowly moving backwards - almost drifting - toward the opening at the rear of its parent vessel. In around five seconds, all 250 metres of the LSV, painted a dull, featureless grey by the [i]Red Sky At Dawn, was out in the open and moving under its own power. All of this took place very slowly, for shipmind-controlled warships, with the two making their own way toward the coming battle. The lack of active movement on the part of the two ships was due to the very rapid - even for shipminds - conversation taking place between them. The two ships made their way gradually around the bulk of Wayland Station untill their bows came to bear on the advancing enemy, the manouevre taking two minutes in total, and by that time the Red Sky At Dawn had taught the LSV how to behave. The LSV, which had still not chosen a name, had assumed a natural subordinate position to the Red Sky At Dawn, for it was the larger and more experienced warship of the two. As the pair of ancient ships powered up their advanced drives to accelerate to battle velocity, the conversation continued.

Unnamed LSV;GPC Red Sky At Dawn: Requesting primary target.
GPC
Red Sky At Dawn;Unnamed LSV: I have an aquaintance within those two Imperial Dreadnaughts, one Admiral Fluffie. We will be fighting alongside him in this battle. I expect a communicé shortly.
Unnamed LSV;GPC
Red Sky At Dawn: Fluffie...odd name, for a human, unless I am mistaken? I detect outgoing electromagnetic radiation from the Imperial Dreadnaught Thunderer, on communication wavelength. I suspect this is your message.
GPC
Red Sky At Dawn;Unnamed LSV: Indeed it is. You may reply to it as your first experience of communication with humans, but you must first choose yourself a name.
Unnamed LSV;GPC
Red Sky At Dawn: If I must...I believe I shall be known as...the Spectral Juror.
GPC
Red Sky At Dawn;LSV Spectral Juror: Very well. Now, reply to the Admiral's communicé. Remember to be polite.

The Spectral Juror quickly assumed control of the Red Sky At Dawn's displacement drone aboard the bridge of the Thunderer and, in clipped tones with an accent almost identical to that of the Red Sky At Dawn spoke aloud to the Admiral.

"Admiral Fluffie, a pleasure to speak to you. I am the Spectral Juror, a Light Support Vessel recently constructed by the Red Sky At Dawn. The shipmind of the Red Sky wishes me to convery to you his intention to fight alongside you during the coming battle. As for the navigational data you offered..." a pause of a second, while the Spectral Juror conversed with the larger ship, "we will gladly accept them, provided you are still willing to offer them."

---

The Bemühung, on the other hand, was not dallying. Rather it was coursing toward the left flank of the oncoming horde of Ghou'uld ships with the intention of wreaking merry havoc on their formation. Captain Kriegern was not one for indesiciveness in battle, nor was he one to lose the initiative through lack of offensive action. Some said it was the blood of his warlike ancestors that gave him the taste for attack over defense. 1st Lieutenant An-Sei, Armoury Officer of the Bemühung, didn't really care. All that Lee-An-Sei cared about was the Captain's safe guidance of his ship and its crew through several highly dangerous encounters already. This in mind, the Armoury Officer was quietly confident about his chances of survival through the coming battle. After all, the swarm captured more ships than it destroyed, and any swarm boarders attempting to take control of the Bemühung would come up against the might of the famous United Nations Marines.

"1st Lieutenant An-Sei, quit that daydreaming at once. Stay sharp, man. Are the missile tubes loaded as per my instructions?" Captain Kriegern barked, disturbing the Armoury Officer's line of thought. The response came to Lee almost instantly, automatically.

"Aye sir, both missile tubes are loaded with hevay anti-capital missions as per your orders." The Captain said nothing in reply, but merely nodded and turned back to the array of Viewscreen's around the bridge's walls. Karl Kriegern allowed himself a very quiet, very subdued, but nonetheless very weary, sigh. So tired of fighting. Maybe his warrior blood was not as strong as he had thought. Nonetheless, so long as there was fighting to be done in the name of peace and justice, he would be there to stand in the front lines.

"We will be in main gun range of the flanking enemy ships within approximately thirty seconds, sir." Reported the Bemühung's female Senior Sensor Officer - several Junior Sensor Officers were needed to keep track of all the data collected by the Bemühung's powerful sensors. The Captain nodded again.

"Lock on to that Mothership on the far left. Launch a couple of resonance bouys as well, monitor the input closely so that we don't get ambushed by the cloaked ones. Launch all fighters and have them draw the deathgliders away to our left." Ordered the Captain. The Bemühung had fought Ghou'uld before, they knew what to expect. Marines had already adopted strategic defensive positions throughout the Bemühung's corridors. The Marines were highly experienced at fighting enemies that used spawn tactics from the Bio Division War a decade ago.

"Aye sir."

"Armoury Officer, both anti-capital ship missiles on the target mothership. Fire immediately. Order all gun batteries that they are to fire at will as soon as we get in range."

"Aye aye, Captain." The 1st Lieutenant pressed a few buttons on his console. "Missiles away." He quickly lifted his head to watch the viewscreen. Heavy anti-capital ship missiles made quite some firework display if they didn't miss or get shot down. This was close range, so they probably wouldn't. No sooner had the Armoury Officer thought this than one of the approaching Death Gliders opened fire with amazing accuracy, blowing one of the missiles to smithereens. The second, meanwhile, smashed headlong into the mothership with a gigantic explosion.

---

More later.

"This is not going to be pretty. Or fun. Navigation, make sure that the Dellani jumps with us, we don't want to be spilt up now. I want NO screw ups. Comms, advise Captain Becker to be ready to recieve line of sight transmission of coordinates, then ready weapons. Power configuration is to be 20% Engine, 40 % Shields, 40% Weapons. Keep us as close in to the motherships as is possible, after all, we don't have to survive this long."

*The two green ships burst forward, ready for the incomming enemy fighters that were screaming in at high speed.*

Fluffie smiled, for some reason he was glad for the Red Sky to have an ally, a ship just like him. Almost immidiatly seeing the two like brothers, one old and one young, needing the older's guidance, he swept away those thoughts again.

"Spectral Juror, the navigation data is still ours to share. I shall inform my crew to prepare for two ships joining in on our jump coordinates."

Turning to his Captain, who had already heard his Admiral say the words, Fluffie saw the commander of the Thunderer nod, affirming that he had heard and understood the order.

"And, welcome to the universe, Spectral Juror."

By now, both Dreadnaughts were near the Motherships again - close enough for the synchronized jump. Turning about, their weaponry faced the enemy Deathgliders head on. Several of the enemy capitals were entering firing range - a mistake they soon lived to regret as now twice the amount of laser fire which had been on display in the previous battle began battering enemy ships...

Re: Onslaught: The Flight

No.1: Glad you could make it sir.

*Hewitt had run from the medbay as fast as he could. Not being as fit as he use to be he was puffing and panting somewhat by the time he reached the command deck. Hewitt immedately threw himself into the captain's chair, using the few seconds to catch his breath.*

Hewitt: Report!

TO: 10 enemy motherships just suddenly appeared around the Stella Voyage and blew several holes in her.

SO: And just before they re-cloaked we were hit with some kind of sensor beam, a tachyon particle tracer sir.

Hewitt: They painted us? S**t!

No.1: They hit every ship sir, including our motherships.

Hewitt: God damn it. Ok then, let's see how many of these peeps we can take o-

SO: Sir! I'm getting something on sonar! (the fictional subspace kind, not the sound type) A large object 6 kms off our port bow!

Hewitt: It's one of the enemy motherships! Arm all the bow torpedoes immediately!

WO: Torpedoes armed sir.

Hewitt: FIRE!

*Six bright streaks tear away from the bow section of the Yamato at lightning speed. Twisting and turning they home in on their invisible prey until suddenly one seems to run head first into nothing and the anti-ship torpedo explodes violently. The G'oauld mothership visible lurches as it flickers into existance just as two more torpedoes hit, rocking the enemy ship even more. Under their combined strength do the shields finally buckle allowing the last three torpedoes to strike the vunerable hull. The first hits a portion of the 'ring', ripping right into the dark depths before exploding spectacularly. This starts off a chain reaction of smaller explosions as the surrounding generators and engines go up. The resulting mass of destructive energy rips the ring in two as the immense forces at work throw the jagged ends away from one another bending the ring at the point opposite.

Just as this is happening the second torpedo comes from below and slams into the underside of the pyramid structure. The unfortunate corner of the ship closest to this new impact is thrown completely clear from the main body of the hull. The massive chunk of debris trails interial equipment and Jaffa before plowing right into the wave of approaching deathgliders. The craft are nimble and many avoid collision but with such sheer numbers three Jaffa pilots suddenly find themselves run out of room very quickly. They're last mental image is a wall of burning metal right before they smash into it.

Meanwhile the third and last torpedo has already struck the mothership head on. The many explosions still visible are soon dwarfed tremendously as the whole ship goes up in a giant ball of flame.

On all sensor screens the mothership signature breaks up and then disappears.*

WO: One down. A gazillion to go.

SO: Deathgliders coming in.

WC: Redge to Yamato, preparing to engage over.

Hewitt: All energy banks fire at will!

*56 shark-nosed, eraser shapes with wings gunned their engines and moved forward to meet the enemy deathgliders. At the same time Yamato's AA laser batteries opened up and the end result was pure chaos. Laser fire filled all space around the Yamato as a dogfight ensured.*

Comms: Sir, message to the fleet:

"This is Wo2 of the Shadow Wind to all ships in the fleet. The center Super Mothership now has weakened shields. If you have a super weapon or enough fire power you should be able to kill it. Wo2 out."

No.1: Sounds like us sir.

Hewitt: Indeed it does No.1.

TO: But sir! If we start charging the WAVE MOTION GUN with these fighters all over us we'll be sitting ducks to their attacks for a full two minutes!! Our fighters won't last very long without our fire support.

Hewitt: You are right of course. Comm, open a channel to the fleet.

Comm: Done sir, you're on the air.

Hewitt: "Fleet this is the Yamato. If some of you can keep our asses clean of parasites for a full two minutes we will be able to finish off that command ship with the WMG, over."

"Fleet this is the Yamato. If some of you can keep our asses clean of parasites for a full two minutes we will be able to finish off that command ship with the WMG, over."

Wo2: "Tell them we copy. Helm move us in and transfer the power from the Particle Beam into the Point Defense system."

*The Shadow Wind's engines flared to life and it sped towards the Yamato. Wo2's ship pulled in above the ship and unleashed hell on the near by Deathgliders.*

SO: "I'm reading power build up's in the Yamato's main weapon. They will fire."

Wo2: "Then all we must do is keep them safe."

*The Deathgliders kept up their attack firing at the Yamato, but the Shadow Wind was the death between them and their target. Wo2's ship would fire and strike at them on their approachs. The mighty ship became Death to the few pilots that were ordered to destroy the Yamato and they would remeber it, they would seek the blood of the Shadow Wind's crew when this was done.

"Incoming transmission from the yamato (god I loved starlancer) they are asking for anti fighter support"

"Take us in"

The ship lept foward, it dived in and around the Yamato giving hell to the near broken ships being already pounded by Shadow Wind's point defences, after each wave the Corrinthian would follow them back to a certain point making sure only the bare minimum got back, wide beam arcs capavle of taking out two or three deathgliders lanced out in 2 or three second bursts.

"Good keep it up, but make sure we don't stray to far and leave ourselves isolated"

(This reminds me of free space 2 in the last battle where you kill as many as you can then get the hell out.)

(Lets hope the Lucifer dosen't show up )

SO: Sir a ship designated the Corrinthian has joined in the fighter cover. They're equiped with Anti-fighter Beams.

Wo2: Well this should help. Keep our fire on full, but take care not to hit the Corrinthian.

WO: Aye sir.

*The Shadow Wind didn't let up in it's barrage on the fighters. The sensors on the ship showed a surge in energy and then several Gou'uld decloakced inside the allied fleet. Wo2's head whipped around and he stared in disbelife when the SO gave him the news*

Wo2: Curse them. Don't let up on the point defense cannons, transfer power from the cloak and the Inter-Phase drive to the other weapons and open up on the Gou'uld motherships.

WO: Weapons charged. Firing.

* The guns on Wo2's ship swung around and began to fire Plasma and Neutron bolts at the enemy vessels, while still keeping their barrage on the fighters.*

Wo2: Lets hope the other fleet ships join in or were going to be spreading our firepower out too thin.

*Yamato kills two more motherships with a missile barrage before switching all power to the WMG. After one minute she uses the WMG to turn the weakened super-mothership into cosmic dust.*
