Piece of search engine news
Here is a piece of search engine news that is a fresh as a hot doughnut! Former president Bill Clinton helped launch a new Internet search company named Accoona recently. It is backed by the Chinese government which says its technology uses artificial intelligence to produce better results than Google Inc.

Re: Piece of search engine news
Well, looks like no one took me seriously here. i have more news for you about Accoona, guys, if at all you are interested. Suppose you have a search query and its long, you can choose which words within it are most important. That way you dont land up with unnecessary stuff.........and have a hassle-free experience in searching whatever you want!

Hi you seem to be new to GD. I'll explain how things generally work.
Firstly, you create a thread with a midely interesting yet ultimately deceiving title. Then, in the thread body, use your wit to create something hopefully humourous, whilst trying to make reference to GD members for bonus clique-points, and finally providing us with a url (it is a common myth that we'll do our own searching -fail to keep our concentration and we'll be back searching for sexually corrupt videos on various p2p networks). After you've put your time and effort into creating the thread remember to check back in half an hour or so to view the vague yet worrying threats that the members will bestow apon you and your family.
GD isn't so much of a melting pot of thoughts and ideas, but a patch-work quilt of various anti-depressant induced personal attacks.
I hope that I have been of some help.

Re: Piece of search engine news
Am I the only one who has actually seen pro spammers? I mean, people that do this for money as part of marketing operations?

they don't usually come back for a second post though
regarding accoona, it isn't 'fresh news', Clinton's endorsement is irrelevant, Chinese government involvement is not a good thing, and am I the only person who sees the potential for racist jokes in the name?

Re: Piece of search engine news
I am so glad folks that people have liked my nick so much that they are already thinking of their next 3 generations and weaving my name around them wherever they can....its so flattering!
Thanks for telling me the rules of the game. I guess, i can be perfect only with a li'l more practical, hands-on experience.
As far as accoona is concerned, i am no big fan of it, was just wondering whether it will catch on...replace google as our favorite search destination with its advanced promises and emerge the champ of the ramp.....the task sure goona be uphill for accoona!!!

Re: Piece of search engine news
Today at 12:33 I received an aggressive marketing popup with the accoona search engine.
I am not amused.
