btw is there any real difference between this and prostitution, other than the state not allowing consenting adults to solicit other consenting adults, perhaps in a designated area of each city.

Obviously people should be free to do as they wish with their own bodies so long as they harm no-one else but I suppose the argument is that medical experimentation provides a general social benefit, rather than a business man just getting a blow job off Streatham Common.

p.s. I'm not on my medical trial anymore. There was an "issue" with my results. Bloody diazepam.

well 'social benefit' let alone general social benefit is a little ambigious. The company exists to fulfill a need at a profit, did viagra really provide that much social benefit? It could be and is argued(quite rightly imho) that prostitution can fulfill the need for sexual release for people that otherwise might not find sexual gratification by 'normal' means. The disabled for example.

It seems a little silly to draw lines of morality wherever you please (not that you do <3 )

Its also strange how 'sex workers' are seemingly graded according to how 'immoral' they are when the essence of their jobs are exactly the same - to arouse.

We've discussed this quite a few times. "Harm" is a short-hand in this case - a better way of phrasing would be "restricting other people's rights". Even in our current society it is acceptable to physically harm people in certain contexts (self-defence, licenced boxing match, dentistry, very limited sexual contexts, etc).
