So with this new excitement over the quest system, ive been thinking about how it should advance beyond 'Beginner'. My conclusion is that it should be similar to the WoW achievements system, rather than a linear chain of required events until the next can be undergone. This allows for more extravagant achievements that can be interesting and challenging but not essential to attempt any of the other quests on offer.
Its fine having the beginning quest line as it is to give the new players to get the game a basic structure of how to play, but beyond that I think it should be alot more open, with either seperate 'quest chains' ie for attacking, defending or whatever the categorys might be. Alternatively just a list of objectives which can be attained at any time with a set list of clear rewards for the achievements, so that players can decide for themselves whether that quest is worth doing. Say when all of the 'attacking achievements' have been done you get an added reward for completing that section of the game, I think the newbies would especially appriciate such outlines as it gives them objectives not based purely around planet ranking.
Anyway any thoughts on this quest structure would be appriciated, theres a good chance im just rambling about things that have already been decided or dismissed anyway
