Multihunters
In the past, the Multihunter Team has recruited from the Support Team to fill the ranks. However, I feel it is time to break that tradition because being a good Support Team person does not necessarily make you a good Multihunter. Therefore, I am opening up Multihunter recruitment to the community. During the speed rounds and beta testing there will be a Multihunter boot camp going on. Before Round 21 starts, new Multihunters will be selected for the team. If you would like to participate and possibly become a Multihunter then you will need to do the following thing:
Send an email expressing your interest to [email protected]
You will also include why you want to be a Multihunter and why you think you can do the job and your IRC nick. If you would like to include vouches from members of the community, feel free to do so.
We are not looking for people who want the position for the power. If we ask you to join the team, you will be expected to work and follow the guidelines. If you can't do that, don't apply because you'll be wasting your and our time.
And, before you apply, remember this: All Multihunters are required to leave any alliance that they are currently in. We have our own alliance. All Multihunters are required to sign an NDA with Jolt.
What I'm looking for in future Multihunters: Intelligence, good reasoning and logic skills, a good eye for minute details, decision making ability, a team player, and demeanor.
Good luck to all applicants.
Fiery
Head of Multihunters
EDIT: Or just contact me on IRC since that seems to be the preferred method.

Re: Multihunters
Great move! I just hope morons won't f up the speed rounds with they're "boot camp." Congrats on the promotion by the way! From once being fired from the MH team to becoming the head of the MH team, great job Fiery!

Wouldn't it be a good idea to post a link to the guidelines and NDA, so people know what a bit more before applying?

Re: Multihunters
Section 2 is what defines this contract as a Non-Disclosure-Agreement. Apart from that it's a standard procedure in every industry, even if you go and apply for a betatest for some other game you usually sign such a NDA.
Seriously, no need to moan there. Standard business procedures you will face everywhere.

Re: Multihunters
something to point out, its binding for 3 months after you cancel it.
This is far better then the terms which were in effect while i was in pateam
( being 6 months then, and even that was only a concession reached after beating jolt around the head with the one year term they expected before )
This is not all that bad an NDA, considering what it was like before.
Infact the version of the NDA i signed was far worse on the other sections too, this one is relatively tame

It's not open source. Neither more, nor less. I can understand that you aren't happy with the game, I am not happy either, but you are really clutching at straws here.

Just to remove any doubt, the Planetarion code is not open source.

Re: Multihunters
Just to confirm (out of curiosity)...
You can do whatever you want after leaving, but for 3 months afterwards you can't work on anything Planetarion related with anyone who has been involved with Planetarion within the last year?
Doesn't seem too bad, it just prevents people leaving together and working on something straight after.

With anyone, not just anyone involved with planetarion.

Re: Multihunters
Its as Heartless says, you cant work on anything related to Planetarion ( so basically, space based online games accessed through a web browser ) with anyone both during the time you work for planetarion, and for a period of three months after you terminate the NDA by writing to them.
Its there to stop people running off to work on a clone, or create their own shortly after having access to the inner workings of pa.
Mostly though, the NDA is there to cover jolt in the event said hunter leaks details which people used to sign up such as passwords, emails and so on. That way if jolt get sued or suffer damages as a result, they can recover the costs from the person who leaked them

2.1 stops you from offering employment to Planetarion staff for 3 months after.
2.2 only stops you from working with other Planetarion staff? " ...with any person who was in the 12 months prior to such termination a member of Planetarion's Development & Support staff." It doesn't seem to place any full restriction on doing anything Planetarion like, it seems fairly specific that it's about Planetarion staff and not a vague restriction.
Hence the original question. It doesn't appear to be a restriction on working with anyone, just Planetarion staff?

Re: Multihunters
hmm that parts changed, didnt notice that. The original NDA covered working for any game under the genre, presumed it was the same.
Having checked the exact wording, it would seem you are correct.

Re: Multihunters
This does of course not mean that you are prohibited from playing the game on an alliance level within 3 months after having terminated the NDA?

Re: Multihunters
That's correct qebab, on termination of your NDA you can play in an alliance.
I don't know if I read it right but I thought that the 3 months bind over what you work on which could be related to Planetarion was based upon if you were in a development role or not.
