Re: Mirc
Try connecting to one of the non-standard ports offered by london.uk or firefly.no. Your best bet is probably 8000 or 8080.

Re: Mirc
My old uni used to block all ports except 8080.
So finding a server which lets you connect via 8080 would be the way forward.
There's also various 'http-tunnelling' programs which divert all your none 8080 traffic through a proxy server (which uses 8080). But just connecting to a IRC server which uses 8080 should work.

Re: Mirc
*** Welcome to CGI:IRC 0.5
*** Looking up irc.netgamers.org
*** Connecting to irc.netgamers.org [129.241.43.210] port 8080
-irc.netgamers.org- *** Looking up your hostname
-irc.netgamers.org- *** Checking Ident
-irc.netgamers.org- *** Found your hostname
*** Your username is invalid.
*** Connect with your real username, in lowercase.
*** If your mail address were [email protected], your username would be foo.
*** Closing Link Koentje by firefly.no.eu.netgamers.org (USER: Bad username)
*** Disconnected from IRC
i keep getting this problem, no matter which CGI IRC i use or what port i connect with. how to solve it?
(mIRC doesn't work aswell).

Re: Mirc
change your ident to koentje, removing the capital K
the clue is in the error message the server spews back at you

Mate,
As you can see below it didn't work.
Mouselike.org spat the same error message at me but mIRC DOES work for me.
I believe it is infact just mouselike.org playing up.
Try typing /server <Server>:port to specify the port?
Edit: Ta Hans

Re: Mirc
= : port
so like
/server irc.netgamers.org:6668 or something (or specify the specific server)
/server firefly.no.eu.netgamers.org:8000

I used to get that a lot, I assumed the cgi client is just banning everyone from using it. I think I eventually found a cgi client that gave me love.
