Surely White is in reference to their perceived overall colour.

I think a lot of this is perception of teh individual. You could have a person of mixed raced ethnicity who is very "white", but chooses to use "black" as there chosen race. Likewise you could have someone of a meditaraenean complex who uses white or black or hispanic depending on where there roots are.

Another thing is the someones values and beliefs will greatly affect what someone else perceives as "white".

Its a hard concept, but we all are as we feel. There can be no stereotypical correct answer, only what someoen feels they belong too. Tribalism and perception of which tribe you belong to is personal thing. Lets hope that equal opportunities get less stereotyped in future, but I doubt it

"Aryan" LOL!

There is no such thing as an aryan, at least as it was defined by the third Reich. There actually are Aryans, they were the original racial sub-group to populate India some thousands of years ago. They were largely amalgamated into other east Indian races, they were certainly not the blonde white ideal Hitler envisioned.

By "Aryan" the Germans meant Northern European White, such as found in Northern Germany, Scandinavia, Denmark and parts of the UK, as well as some in the baltic states. But this is not a destinct racial group, more sortof an imagined grouping based on fantasy charictaristics.

Anyway, I can't figure out if Mariah Carey is attractive or not. I suspect not. And since my subconscious is hideously racist, that probably makes her non-white.
