Re: Maxine Carr.
the problem is a huge amount of women fall into that category where you would if they offered, but wouldn't care if they didn't. She is one of them.
The bodywork on it seems ok, but the face, well, hamster cheeks come to mind. And isn't she a ginge?
It's interesting that she's beginning to lose the evil woman tag. Now, she just seems to be guilty of being stupid*. And if we locked up all stupid women, there wouldn't be many left...
we'd all starve and wear unironed clothes etc

Re: Maxine Carr.
It's strange, when she was first doing her interview (when they thought she was innocent) I just knew she was lying and made sure everyone I talked to that day knew what I thought (heh). Then a couple of days later she was arrested. Maybe it wasn't just obvious to me.

on a side note if you raped her then its one of the few offences you can still be sentenced to death for in the UK apparently....

High treason is the offense, I believe.
Ordinary treason (such as burning the Queen's dockyards) just doesn't cut it any more.

I believe high treason is treason against the queen and in certain circumstances treason.
I do believe from my legalise friend thoguh that raping the queen is a old world law that was never revoked and is actually still technically enforceable. Its amazing what you can learn when you get drunk

Re: Maxine Carr.
if she had killed them it might have interested me enough to say yes for the sheer kinkyness and wrongness of it but she just blabbed and sobbed in court (and didnt kill them) so no i really really wouldnt.
btw you know how other people think of other people in high office and the like sitting on the toilet, well i think of them getting anal. Im not sure how this started but i cant fcking stop now
'oh no philip it hurts philip you said youd be gentle philip'
d'ya ever think she did get it up the bum? i mean all women try it at least once dont they?

No, there are no crimes in the UK that can get you the death penalty. Until about 3 years ago, ceertain crimes, such as High treason or high crimes against the monarchy, could be deemed crimes against the state and you could be remanded to a military court, where the death penalty was still an option and you could be hanged. I think there was also a Parlimentary provision where the government could impose the death penalty in specific cases, I think thats how they executed Lord Haw Haw after WWII.
However a few years ago this was struck down, the armed forces officially got rid of the death penalty, and there is no recourse at all in the UK for execution under any penalty.
However, I understand there is a some specific prison in northern Scotland where a life sentence there is essentially a death sentence, but thats just rumour...

aww, I wanted to be the one that corrected him :/
You could have just said, see Article 2 ECHR anyway, right to life.
Incidentally, we arent even allowed to permit another country to execute people - If the UK were to capture Osama Bin Laden, we wouldnt be able to extradite him to the USA because he would likely face the death penalty.

That just guarantees life, it doesn't abolish the DP. It still allows for the execution of a person as set down in law. The Human Rights Act's Sixth Protocol is what you're after.
Crime and Disorder (1998) originally abolished it totally for all civilian offences, though.

I do not know the name of the prison, and the source I cannot reveal anyways, the tale came to me over the course of work-related security meetings in London, UK. I will have to find out more abut the place though, it sounded like smething out of X-Men.

Re: Maxine Carr.
I thought the Death Sentence was still allowable under certain conditions such as war and things like that.
I see MPs voted for this in the year before that article, but does the human rights thing disallow even that?

There's still a provision for it by the armed forces during "war or the threat of war", but it's so vague as to be practically meaningless.
