Two Strangers And A Wedding
Some of you may have already heard of this (especially if you live in the Birmingham area) or if you remember 1999 when it was done before. One of our local radio stations (BRMB) is going to take 2 people who have never met and know absolutley nothing about each other, and get them married. The first time the couple will see each other (or indeed know each others name) will be at the altar.
Two Strangers And A Wedding - BRMB

Unsuprisingly the church condemned the first wedding and have stated their disapproval of the repeat. Presumably the main reason that anyone who has entered for it is fame.

Moral / Immoral?
Desperate for fame / desperate for love?
Any hope whatsoever for a marriage formed in these circumstances, unless the matching is 100% perfect and you believe in love at first sight. Surely meeting somone at the altar and then committing to have and to hold, for richer and poorer 'til death do us part (etc) is pushing even love at first sight a bit much?

I remember this well, they got a puma (car), a flat and some cash iirc? Was it a failure though? It was good radio though and I guess groundbraking, im suprised they havent done this for tv yet?

BRMB is a decent radio station actually, and it will be interesting to listen to it now its back.

BRMB is a decent radio station actually, and it will be interesting to listen to it now its back.
Yeah - the first lot broke up, and had to give the flat back as it was only theirs for a year anyway iirc, and then only if they stayed together.
