game.planetarion.com NOT WORKING! what's going on here? we have an addict here who needs his PA fix!

As there is no actual information available, the best thing to do would be to repeat the #planetarion topic here

There are (in my mind at least) 2 possible sets of cause & effects::

Server down
Cause: server crashed, hardware problem, drive full, whatever it is, something thats caused it to stop working
Effect: game inaccessible, ticks stopped
Routing/DNS issues
Cause: the outside world can't contact the pa server
Effect: game inaccessible, ticks run until someone with server access can get a connection to it and stop them.

thanks for the explanation...if ticks are indeed still running, will we have to back to the most recent db backup?

server itself is not down, it is pingable. web server is down. it isn't a dns issue. that's all i can tell from here atm. (no i'm not pa team just a geek.)

when was most recent db backup? i'd like to know the same.. best scenario would ofc be to rollback right before this happened... anyone know when?

Oh, it will be xmas eve then? hmm.. just end the round early on xmas-eve so most attacks gets to land and forget about winners ceremony until a few days after

Maybe so people who had put attacks up don't need to do it again? If they start it earlier the scans might be useless.

Well, imagine you were planning to pull at eta 1. It was eta 2 when the game went down. If they restart the game at a different time to what you intended to pull it means that you stand less of a chance to be on to recall. Really its the lower of the evils. IMO, it's the only real solution to any down time.
