How Long is Each Tick?

I'm Just wondering, i saw it said 16 ticks and i thought, if a tick is an hour then thats quite a while

each tick is one hour long.

Each tick is 1 hour (assuming things don't go wrong)
"Dump files" are generated for sites such as www.pilkara.com and we recommend these are downloaded at XX:15 (as some ticks take longer than others)
An average round recently lasts 10 weeks (aka. 1680 ticks) give or take a bit to complete the round on a convenient date.

ticks are currently taking 4.9 minutes so XX:15 is a good idea
