Tell me GD
Which is better to visit for a few days/weekend with a gf to relax:
Bournemouth
Margate
Cornwall
Bath
?
(Bournemouth is somewhere I like, Cornwall is what my gf suggested and the other two was somewhere 'ok' to visit.)

Re: Tell me GD
Cornwall as long as the weather isn't crap as it's relaxing. There's also things like The Eden Project which is supposed to be good, and plenty of chances for long quiet walks.
Bournmouth if you're wanting nightlife, but you may have to venture outside the town as well.
Never been to Margate
The only thing I can think of worth visiting in Bath is Shakeaway. (also found in Bournemouth, Southampton, Brighton and Reading)

Re: Tell me GD
I live in Bournemouth. It's a Chav magnet for the ****ers from London.
Go to Cornwall, beautiful countrysied, excellent surf, slightly radioactive rocks... \0/

Although the Nightlife is good, it's still below par when considering the northern cities like Liverpool, Newcastke and Sheffield.
And there's not alot outside Bournemouth central, unless you want to go to Poole(ok)/Ringwood(bad)/Boscombe(shit hole).

Re: Tell me GD
If you have a car go to Cornwall.
You can keep Bath as a back-up "suprise weekend" for the future.
Don't go to either of the others.

The Eden project is dull as shit
I went on a school trip there a few weeks ago
Where in Cornwall are you thinking? Coastal areas or more inland?

Re: Tell me GD
As said, 'Cornwall' isn't particularly specific.
There are lots of nice villages along the north coast, between Newquay and Lands End (I'm sure there are elsewhere, but I can only comment on my experience...), where you can take a nice walk (The SW-Coast path gives some great views) and eat Cornish pasties.

helligans gardens and the eden project are not the same, helligans garden is a huge outdoor place that tries to emulate various different types of gardens including a prehistoric one. Eden project is strange plants growing inside big domes.
Both are defintly worth a visit though

Re: Tell me GD
The Eden Project is shit, but The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a cool and interesting place to go in Summer when the weather is hot. Not sure I'd want to go in early spring though.

it's good in spring, too. but warm and pleasant spring, not shitty rainy spring.

I vote Cornwall. St Ive's is especially nice. And the beaches are very nice too.
Also Cornish Pasties are yum.
