Improving Exile

A suggestion to improve the exiling and removing inactives from the game:

a) a planet that is exiled from a galaxy should NOT be added to another galaxy until he logs in again. This way you avoid shifting inactive planets around the universe, giving full galaxies a higher advantage as they don't waste resources on exiling completely dead planets.

b) that won't solve the problem with planets logging in once a day, e.g. less active players, spies etc. ofc it's hard to classify these by any automatic rule. so why not trust the players? a planet that has been exiled N times (with N to be determined) should be placed in an extra galaxy with only planets of his kind and NEVER get added to an existing galaxy again.

effect:
planets that never log in after they get exiled are effectively removed from the game. great

planets that are deemed inactive by most of the players can't get the full experience, but will only play in a galaxy with players of their own activity level. seems acceptable.

players that take a vacation and therefore are offline for a longer while won't be hurt too much because they can only get exiled once until they log in again, therefore won't hit the N limit unless they do it repeatedly.

completly aggree with a

but there are still some points to think about

does the ticks run for exiled planets?
Think of it that you can't get attacked between exiling and replacement in a new gal cause you don't have coords. So if the ticks run for this planets then they can easily gain resources and don't have to worry about being attacked
if the ticks doesn't run for these planets that it will be an big disadvantage for them (anyway normaly only inactives are exiled so it won't bother them but it's still an disadvantage for them)

Even with this dificulties it's worth thinking about it.

Well I think that the creators won't be happy with suggestion B
They tried to mix expirienced players with newcomers and after this suggestion there will be alot of galaxies full of newcommers.

But still an interresting idea.

It's impossible for anyone to selfexile already. Usually after a while during the game new galaxies are formed due to new signups. Some of these soon start to work as dumpsters for inactives.

Maybe it should work like this:
1. planets that are exiled get exiled to a lower ranked galaxy.
2. new signups get placed randomly in the upper half ranked galaxies.
3. create a dumpster galaxy and create more as soon as it's (almost) full

can't agree with Gerbie.

galaxies with more players would in most cases be ranked above galaxies with less players and with your suggestion get even more planets first, smaller galaxies would always get the inactives.

maybe don't use galaxy rank but average planet rank or even average activity (how ever that is calculated atm)

but
is it possible to attack those exiled planets?
what prevents galaxies from exiling an unliked planet and immediately launching at him while he is asleep?
or even make them deliberate farms? with no gal mates who'd notice?
