Re: online irc....help
The problem with thsi CGI clients is once they get posted somewhere like these forums they become difficult to connect to without being glined so you may want to use Google to find a few backups

Re: online irc....help
How difficult is it to create your own? Is it free? If so, anyone with a website could set one up to make it easier for peopel to log in away from home. I have 3 websites I could put them on if anyone has instructions?

its not that difficult, and yes cgi-irc is free.
apt-get/yum/emerge install cgiirc should do it.

Re: online irc....help
I believe the issues with hosting cgi-ric is the memory requirements per connection are quite high, I think thats why netgamers haven't done it.

Re: online irc....help
firefly.no.eu.netgamers.org is open for connections on port 8080, this schould work from most schools, as I don't think they'we actually closed the secoundary www port
So, on that server, and port, you schould be able to connect to with a regular irc client ex. mIRC from school/wrk and so on. Or, hopefully

It's been there for a loooooooong time :-) I just don't visit the forums as regular as I once did. Probably just as well for my real life ;-)
Glad to be of help though. I'll see if I can drop by at IRC at one point or another. Maybe in the weekend
