It wasn't bad.
Of course, when you take aim at teenage alienation you can hardly miss.

Re: Has anyone seen the film ...
I saw it about 2 or 3 months ago. It has to be one of the funniest movies I have sene in a long time. In its simplicity, it is excellent.

Re: Has anyone seen the film ...
It has it's moments.
Most of the funny bits are "easy" gags though.
Although....the bit with the martial arts teacher I found hilarious for some reason. "Learn to fight with the reflexes of a puma, strength of a bear and wisdom of a man", etc.

Ring any bells?
How about :
"**** OFF YOU STINKING HEAP OF SHIT!"
Can't remember that one either eh?!
How about this:
"Idi i think you repressed all your memories of your school torment because they were so terrible."
Do you remember that one cause you should cause this is me saying it to you right now.

? What does that have to do with it? I can't relate to 100's of movies. Doesn't mean I don't like them. I never fought 100 of the same person, but I definitly liked The Matrix.

Re: Has anyone seen the film ...
I just saw this movie for the first time, and I loved it. I've totally been put in touch with the inner geek in me. One time, when I was ten I found a replica of a dagger, it was metal, and I took it to school while I put in my belt. I thought the kids would think it was cool, I was like ten, but they only told the teacher on me and I got in big trouble, also because I said to the kid who was telling on me to go "bumps mal schoen" ( I was still living in Germany) and it means to **** off.
God I'm such a dork, I was just like that kid. Except I never got any cool girl at the end.

I'd hardly say that playing spinball (or whatever it's called) is "getting the girl" at the end.
And I definitely wouldn't describe her as a "cool girl".
So don't worry about it!

the last 20 minutes are inarguably excellent.
the rest was low-key, but still 'good.'

Re: Has anyone seen the film ...
Hmm.. I found once you settle into its slow pace it was quite enjoyable. Lots of spot gags that made me giggle, but there were equally as many WTF!? type moments as well.
The only film I can think of that's simular to it in style rather than theme is maybe The Castle.

Re: Has anyone seen the film ...
In the first half hour of the flick I kept wanted to turn it off and go do other things. The problem was I wanted to see what happened next. Glad I stuck around for the whole thing.

Re: Has anyone seen the film ...
I just saw this film, and I think it is right up there with the most truly awful films I have ever seen.
That is all.
