Google Earth
Having just spent the last 2 hours flying around the Earth via Google, it got me wondering how many odd places people have bookmarked. Strange landmarks, manmade landmarks, world wonder type landmarks...
Care to share your latitude/longitude?
Some odd places...
37° 1'45.48" N 116° 1'37.24" W - U.S. Nuclear test site.
Salton City...not the Middle East, but some City that never happend in the U.S.
33°16'37.69" N 115°57'2.93" W
an airport...in the middle of nowhere.
61° 5'53.30" N 155°34'32.71"W
A large coal mine/power plant in Chandraur, India. (you crazy enviromentalists might get a kick out of this hole. =) )
20° 0'54.04" N 79° 18'2.19" E

Re: Google Earth
I gave up on finding Area 51 and googled it a while back.
I did manage to find the Sphinx ( 29° 58'32.64" N 31° 8'14.89" E)

If only the Sphinx was slightly smaller, it could be in the British Museum where it belongs. Then I could see it without having to leave the country, which I find to be both annoying and expensive.

i felt the same when i went to stonehenge, but more impressed with the height of glastonbury tor and its tower, which seemed bigger, i think its to do ith the perspective they put on photographs.

Re: Google Earth
If you're really that interested there are a bunch of Google Earth nuts with no life online, and all they do is talk about shit they find on Google Earth. I'm sure you could find a Google Earth group on Yahoo!, on Google Groups, usenet, etc. Whatever you find, I'm sure it's been found already, tbh. :/
