Internet traffic control software?

Can anyone recommend me a free program that can simply show me what kind of traffic is coming in and out of my pc? Sometimes I've got the idea my bandwith is transfering shit without me knowing of.

Good for monitoring internet/lan bandwidth. You can make it "free" if you still like it after the trial expiration.

is good for viewing what processes are transferring traffic. it lists the program, whether it is sending or recieving and what address it is sending or recieving to.

Re: Internet traffic control software?

Ethereal is good for actually viewing the traffic in packet form to and from your PC.

If you're plugged into a hub as opposed to a switch you can view promiscuously too - although I'm not sure of the spelling there!

Ethereal will run wirelessly in promiscuous mode, providing you're running Linux or Unix or similar - Windows drivers won't allow it to on Windows based machines - although certain wireless cards have been known to work.
