If it wasn’t for the emergency crews that were on standby right ‘bout now I would’ve been advising a total system shutdown. As it is we have suffered roughly a drop in power of about 25%.

What a lovely way to start mission... not good, not good...

Hewitt: Anything else I should know about? How long will it take to set things right again?

EO: Well let’s see... we have 60% of our fuel left sir and we cannot jump until we have repaired the FTL engines - that will take about 3 hours to repair but we have full sublight engines sir.

Hewitt: Just peachy. Ok then Lt, get to work and I’ll speak to you again in three hours.

EO: Aye sir.

Hewitt: Right. So we know our FTL systems are shot... SO what can you tell us about our current position.

SO: Currently scanning sir.

No.1: Hmm... *Wanders over to the SO’s console.* Sir, better have a look at this...

*Hewitt mutters something inaudiable under his breath as he wanders back over to his chair.*

Helm: Um sir? What course?

Hewitt: *Settles into his nice big and comfy captains chair.* Set a course for high orbit with the sixth planet in the system. Bring us in so we can get a good long look at that wormhole. I want full impulse.

Helm: Aye sir, setting course now... all set sir.

Hewitt: Very good. Now *strikes a dramtic pose* ENGAGE.

*The rear section of Pandora gains a light blue glow as ALL 10 of her cold fusion engines power up completely.

EO: Hey! Need I remind you all of the damage down here!? Take it easy damn it!

No.1: Do you realise how irritating that is sir?

Hewitt: Yes I do. *grins*

No.1: O-kay then...

SO: Leto, you really shouldn’t make fun of your father that way...

*Hewitt swivels around and gives the SO a cold forboding stare.*

Hewitt: Excuse me?

SO: *Looking slightly nervous* Sorry sir... I was out of line.

*Hewitt nods his head in deep thought.*

Your mothers plight and what your father did have nothing to do with the crew. Now FOCUS!

SO: Sir I sa-

Hewitt: Forget it.

*Hewitt does his best to shove back the encroaching emotions just waiting to surface and when he looks up again his features soften a little before settling back into something resembling a command posture.*

Hewitt: SO get me more info on that ship. I want to know what is out there if whoever they are decides we’re not welcome. But also keep an eye out for any other surprises that might decide to show up.

SO: *Looking relieved* Aye sir.

Hewitt: Also I want a fighter screen around Pandora ASAP.

WC: Will do sir.

Hewitt: Make sure all your pilots have their AMD’s active. I don’t want any missiles hitting this ship that could’ve been stopped.

WC: Aye sir.

Hewitt: Helm, this place is full of gravity wells I’m told. Make certain we don’t hit any of them.

Helm: You can count on me captain.

Hewitt: WO, make certain our weapons weren’t effected by our sudden exit from hyperspace...

*...and on when the long line of orders that needed to be put into effect. Meanwhile, the Pandora continued on her mission to investigate the WORMHOLE with her fighter escort on the look out and her insides a hive of activity.*

Marines we won't need you for boarding action just yet, but stay sharp and try to get into character a little... I'll send you Trick or Treating when the time comes.

This would be a lot more effective if you could pull off an Insectid cover, but we don't have the information yet, this was a research and destroy mission afterall, we'll be able to make a much more convincing Mantis ploy with the data supplied back at Ankaa.

[Quite some time later, with the XGP pushing along the biggest Mantis hull they could tractor and the crew getting into character]

"Ok the logistics of this, we'll approach the Frigates at an undead pace, quarter thrust. We have plenty of EMP missiles in the hold, shots will be deployed in pairs, a hundred metres to the fore of the Mantis wreckage, one burst either side at short intervals. That should prevent those monkies getting accurate readings on our power signature and give the dummy hull a slight afterglow. Shut down our external lighting and keep us in the shadow, when we're nearing the target, signal the lead frigate and let the fun begin."

[Cut the scene, where entire bridge crew are doing their best to look like scarey Alien Mantis Preditor type creatures. The room is left almost pitch black to make up for the rush job on the costumes, with smoke pouring in from all sides as further distraction. Cue close up of Commander Kama, who's voice is being translated to Mantis and down an octave to sound extra threatening, complete with subtitling where necessary, all the while he furiously waves fake claws around in a terrifying display of ghostly alien gesticulation.]

<Bwah Hah Hah! At last We have been AWAKENED!!! This is an ancient protected sssystem, and you are trespassing. You must be ssstopped at all cosssts!! Lower your shieldsss!!! And prepare [dramatic pause] to be boarded! we are reclaiming what you hafffve taken. If you do not comply, you will be [dramatic silence] diiiiistroyed!!! *Crazy sat looking at the chrono ship, as his orders were carried out. The outter areas of the ship were evacuated and the blast doors to those area's were sealed. Alarms sounded through the ship as the crew hurried to their assigned battle stations. More blast doors closed, sealing off different sections of the ship incase of a hull breach or fire. Pilots ran to their fighters, dropping whatever they were doing and spilling alot of coffee*

The fighters then turned into formation, each squadron of ten fighters taking up an echelon formation and taking up escort position around their carrier*

Helm: "We're in formation with the Fleet sir. Taking up position above the centre."

FC: "All fighters are launched and have taken up escort postions sir"


"Good. Helm. Get our jump drive online. Prepare to jump with the fleet. Comm. Send reply to Captain Tal'Raka. Tell him we've launched all we've got and are ready to fight."

Comms: "Sir. Contacting him now"

*Crazy rose from his seat as the chrono concordat opened fire. The weapons fire from the huge ship lanced through space and slammed into the side of one of the science vessels. The ships shields flikkered for a moment, before the massive amount of energy poured at the ship was simply too much and smashed straight through them. The weapos fire smashed into the hull of the science ship, tearing straight through it. Massive gashes appeared along its side, and fires burnt through out. The ship lurched, and started spinning, then it exploded...*

*Crazy slowly sat down, back in his seat. His eyes locked on the view screen, and the tumbling wreckage of the science ship. Everyone was silent, as the last red glows of the science ship disappeared. The silence was then broken as Captain Devoran's voice came through the communications*

Devron: "Capts we are going to take that beast on this will be the perfect test for the new fighters"

*Crazy's eyes stayed fixed to the view screen*

So, lets teach them what we do with pirates. And what we do with people who take away our mission bonus! Wing Commander, order all fighters to attack and destroy all enemy fighters. Captain Devoran wants to test his experimental fighters, we'll have to provide the cover for him. Can't let them fighters die before they've had a chance to kick some butt. Tactical Officer, lock all weapons onto the concordat's forward shields. Helm. Take us into firing range."

*A fire started up in Crazy's eyes. A hatred started to grow inside of him. Stupid Chronoians. They would pay.*

*Crazy, his eyes still fixed on the spinning wreckage of the science ship, turned on the internal intercom*

"Attention. Attention. This is the Captain. We have hostile ships on appraoch vector. All hands are to report to battle stations immeditly. Repeat, all hands to battle stations. Initiate battle procedure Crazy Alpha."

*All around the fleet carrier, those who were off duty ran, mostly grumpily, to their battle stations, while those who were on duty, quickly finished up what they were doing and ran to their stations. Those on the outer decks, and near the outter hull, evactuated those areas, as per the Crazy Alpha protecole. All around the ship, blast doors started sliding shut, and sealing off different sections of the ship, incase of hull breaches or fires.*

Helm: "Bringing us into firing range now sir."

"Commence attack patter Foxtrot Niner. Tactical, fire at will"

Helm: "Aye. Attack patter Foxtrot Niner initiated"

TO: "Aye Captain. Bridge to fire control teams. Weapons free, take 'em out. Repeat, weapons fire. Give 'em hell boys"

Fire Control: "Confirmed bridge. Weapons are free and firing."


*Crazy watched on the view screen, as his ship sped towards the concordat, coming at them from the top, front. As their guns came into range, they opened up. The concordat was lit up red, as the three Partical lasers burst forth from the front of the fleet carrier, and slammed into the concordat. Those were followed by four Quantum torpedos. The carrier then turned, rolled and fired with the rest of its weapons, before turning and firing off the last of the first volley of torpedos. All the shots were aimed at the forward shields of the offending concordat.*

*Menwhile, all 40 of the Nial class fighters were happily engaged kicking some Chrono fighter butt. The squadrons all approached from a different side at the fighters, and opened up at the same time. All 120 of their Heavy Neutron Cannons ripped up space and fighters, as they caught the chrono fighters in a heavy cross fire*

ooc/ LH, you should go over your list of weapons and either edit it so it shows the correct charging times, or drop the charging time of my expensive phased particle phaser 8, this is what is says on page 1:
Phased Particle Phaser 8 - c 50000 - this is better than the ultimate phaser () it can fire at any angle 360 degrees this needs its own Fusion Drive to power it. Most shields cannot stand its power. this can destroy Police Cruisers with a single balst. - 15 turret mounts

"Sir, the Akatsuki is taking light fire, the Ariake reports no damage. All fighters are accounted for." the Coms Officer was now giving most reports automatically. After all, she'd been trained for the position for at least six years, with Clan youngsters wishing to enter the military being forwarded to special military schools for their secondary schooling; and six years of training had drilled into her exactly what she was supposed to be doing in battle. The same was true for the rest of the crew as well.

"Confirmed, Coms, keep me up to speed on any developements with our three ships or with the Striker Draconis." answered the Shosha. No Dachi was currently on a high; he was in his element. The son of a hundred generations of proud warriors finally taking up the mantle of those ancestors, and it felt good. "Science, how are we holding up?" he asked, turning to the Science Officer over to the right of his command chair.

"Shields on all fore sections are down to 70%, sheilds on the port and starboard sides are down to 80%, sir." the Science Officer was earning himself more and more plus points by the minute., No Dachi noted almost subsconsciousely. A good candidate for promotion if ever the oppurtunity arose. "I can confirm that the Ariake has taken no hits, and that the Akatsuki has suffered identical levels of damage to our own."

"Confirmed. At this rate we'll be in flames before they are. Helm, commence evasive manouevres; start circling around the Frjgate a bit, but keep us in a position whereby we'll be able to fire on their fore sections," No Dachi ordered, now turning in his chair to look directly at the Helmsman at the front of the bridge.

"Aye sir, entering evasive attack pattern on their fore shield arcs." the Helmsman acknowledged the order without turning around. Almost at once, No Dachi felt a stronger sensation of movement than before. No time for space-sickness, though...

"Coms, relay that order to both of the other ships. They're Frigates so they should be able to move a lot faster than us. The Ariake is to move about as much as it can without jeapordising its missile locks, and the Akatsuki is to start moving about a lot more than it has been. I want it at full impulse and actively engaging the enemy fighters."

"Aye sir," responded the Coms Officer, multi-tasking since the incoming transmission light on her console was blinking. She quickly obtained a print out of it and handed the paper to an orderly, reading out the communicé as she did so, and at the same time entering the new orders for the Akatsuki and Ariake. "sir, we have recieved a transmission from the Striker Draconis. Lieutenant Commander PK is requesting that we assist his strike craft, sir."

"Confirmed, lukcily that suits what I had in mind for the Akatsuki. Order Shosha Ukitsu that he is to try and draw the attention of the Insectid fighters away from those of the Striker Draconis. He is to lead them around to our left where Red Squadron will join him. I want all of the fighters destroyed. Order Blue Squadron to configure their weaponry for maximum shield damage and attack the forward shields on our friga-" No Dachi was cut short by the WO.

"My Lord, I apologise for interrupting you, but we are now within Photon Torpedo range of the enemy warship," the WO was also a good man. All the bridge crew were good men (or women), the Shosha reminded himself happily.

"Very well, open fire with all weapons. Aim for the forward shield arc and throw everything you've got at it. As soon as the forward shields are down, cease fire. I want that ship in tact so we can board it. Is that understood?" No Dachi eyed the WO carefully. He'd known a good many Weapons Officer-trainees in the academy who had trouble stopping their guns short when needed. The WO of the Shikinami, however, simply nodded with a grin that contorted his scarred face into the kind of image that gave small children nightmares.

"Aye sir, I'll stop the guns short as soon as the forward shields are down."

"Excellent. Chosa Mistonagi?" he said into the com unit of the command chair.

"My men are fully assembled and ready for boarding, My Lord." came the reply from the lieutenant colonal, who was now doubtless standing in line for the armoured escape pods ready to board the enemy frigate with his men, leading form the front as was Clan tradition.

"Very well. SO, maintain constant communication with Chosa Mitsonagi. As soon as the forward shields are down and the WO has ceased fire, you are to clear the Marines for boarding. Mitsonagi, I want that ship captured with as little damage to the interior as possible. Go for the engines first to ensure that it can't escape. I think you have a better idea than I of what to do after that/"

"Indeed, My Lord, it shall be done as you have ordered...My Lord, what of the other Marines?" At this, No Dachi paused, thinking carefully. There were the other Marines to consider as well. No, better to save them for when they would be needed than to squander them on a ship with no apparent troops to defend it, and in doing so alert the entire area to the fact that he had...other...Marines.

"You may inform the Captain that his talents would be wasted on this particular frigate, and that I do not wish to waste his time with such trivial tasks," No Dachi responded. The Captain would doubtless find that amusing. He found everything amusing, especially dangerous things.

"Indeed, My Lord. Mitsonagi out."

As The Frivolous Rainbow rocks under the impact of the enemy ship's weapons fire, captain Bogg loses his balance and falls over, breaking his arm, but accidentally dodging a large girder that came falling down from the ceiling. Bogg who is not at all used to physical pain start to wail: "My arm! MY ARM! It hurts! OOOOH, IT HURTS!" Suddenly a nearby console explodes and sets fire to Bogg's long hair which he used to wear into a fashionable (or so he thinks) ponytail: "Huh what? My hair! MY HAIR'S ON FIRE! AAAAAAAHH!!" Commander Speckles rushes forward, takes of her vest and uses it to extinguish the fhe flames on the captain's hair.
No1: "Let me take a look at that arm for you, captain. I used to be a nurse before I took on piracy.
* No1 looks at the captain's arm, sees that it's broken and uses her burnt vest to suspend his arm.
Captain Bogg liked nurses, or rather, he liked nurse uniforms. He had never imagined Alison in one, but now that he thought of it, and images were beginning to form in his head, he became quite fond of the idea and he was going to make sure that it'd become more than just an idea. He grinned.
SO: "Do you think he's gonna be alright?"
WO: "I'm not sure, but he must be in a lot of pain, just look at that expression on his face. He's even started to drool now!"
SO: "He's such a brave man!"
WO: "And so very handsome too!"
Bogg: "I think I should go see Kim with this arm."
No1: "Doctor Vorkian is currently busy treating a lot more urgent cases. Besides, you are needed here on the bridge captain."

Bogg: "Mr. L'Oven I want that transwarp drive back online now. We need to get out of here very fast."
EO: "Yes captain. We're still on working on it, jump capability will soon be restored."
Bogg: "I wasn't talking about soon, I was talking about now, while we still have them, dammit!"
Bogg: "Commander Redbock, have your marines help with ship repairs and put out any fires you encounter."
MC: "Yes captain, we'll take care of it."
Bogg: "Alison, evacuate all non essential parts of the ship and shut down power to it, including life support. Once the oxygen there is gone, it should extinguish any fires that may be going on in there."
No1: "I'm giving the order, Sir."
Comms: "Captain Killer wants us to target the enemy ship's engine exhausts, Sir. He believes the ship may be vulnerable there. He says he has been charging his particle phaser and it should be ready to fire when our particle cannon is ready too!"
Bogg: "Captain Killer can believe whatever he wants to believe. I'm sick and tired of being his lightning rod. We're leaving right now!"
No1: "I think we should give it a try, captain."
Bogg: "WHAT?"
No1: "We won't be able to leave until our transwarp drive has been repaired. In the mean time our best chances are to keep damaging the enemy ship as much as possible."
Bogg: "Oh very well then. I just hope we'll live long enough to not regret this decision."
No1: "Sarah, fire 10 EMP missiles and spread them over all of their guns. I don't want them to get a clear lock on us when they fire at us again. It should reduce any further damage we receive."
WO: "Yes Ma'am."
No1: "L'Oven, I want you to divert the power from all our guns except the particle cannon, to reinforce our shields!"
EO: "Yes Commander."
Bogg: "McQuirk, once our particle cannon has been fully charged, we will fire on the ship's engine exhausts. When that happens, I want our fighters to concentrate their firepower on that too, but for now you will continue to bomb their anti-matter cannons."
WC: "Understood, captain!"

Tal'Raka: WC Escort the Neptunes fire at anything that gets to close. WO Load up the Corbamite Missile and hold it. Launch SAT 2.

*The two ships fire out 2 satielits off identical makes which shut off as soon as they leave the tube, making them extremly hard to detect.*

Tal'Raka: Good. SO scan that ship with our phase scanners, find the weakest point on their forward shields. Now us and our sister must launch SAT 3 and fire at the same spot on the Beast shileds, the weak spot hopefully. WO Fire All our weapons on the same points as the SAT's and target our Corbamite Missile at that point too. Were gonna punch a hole in it's shield and hit it hard. EO Charge the Quantam Drives and set it to genorate the black hole inside of the enemy fighter formation.

*The Nil'Cershal and Nil'Numeruone Fire all ther weapons at the mighty ship and two Corbamite Missile's streak towards the point on the shields, hoping to fly through a freshly made hole and hit the ship where it will feel it, the bridge or somewhere nearer...*

This may be a little impulive but I am feeling a little restricted simple postions covnersations and odd actions or two. So one is asking wether it it would not seem to imprudent to post ship actions as well e.g. The sledner hulled vessel seem crawl forward, the faintest glimmer of lights coming from the shwell full of life. Stalking forward like a panther, through cold blackness of space.

Of coruse that just small example and ahrdly worht of note but that reason im asking if it would be alright it started including such comments, since to be honest i am terrible at simple rping through covnersations they dont give enpough lfie to the situation.

Well my major problem is that wokring around coversation is all well and fine, but i feel that there isnt enough depth involved then. Being given guidlines by a DM is good yes as it gives your direction, but in my repsonce i like to be able to make some assumtions myself. Meaning i dont like my ideas being held down just to follow the strict rules of somthing, obviusly this just in general and not refering to here specificly before I am ccused of spreading accusations.

And really im more used to fantasy settings or more trheads involving single perosn combat, I can swing a sword better than i can command a ship heh, but im trying at this regardless althoguh my efforts are a little hapered with lack of experince with such threads.

I do it all the time, or used to, or still do occasionally or something. Usually to round off orders since mostly I don't forcefully RP my crew into listening to me, let alone answer for them. Ship movement description comes in more when I have Helm fly is round real funky like, and makes a nice break from *Captain sits in chair! *Captain paces bridge! *Captain look at viewscreen!

well one shall see I might go ahead with it, and im just as likely to not go ahea of it. Depends how much probelms i can see in it once i think about it a little more. N1 -is that good sir? this is a long battle and that tact takes almost double the delithium crystals to manouver. Although it would give us a major advantage if it works.
Briskwill - It will take alot out of us, but the battle will go quicker and there will be less casualities. Our Delithium stock will be lowered, but the lives of many will be saved, on our side at least.

Arm And launch 1/4 of our photon torps (10) at there flagship also, widespread.

N1 - I hope our Wo can get the phaser 7 up and running, it usually takes four rounds to get warmed up. But once it's up it can kick some terrible butt.

So - Yes, After every volly of shots i want a full detailed report of our ships stats, and there ships stats. Also Keep the shields on a rotating frequency, 2 every second, random of course.

N1 - I never thought of that. But if our shield is changing so 'frequently' then wouldn't our weapons hit the shields when we fire them? They can't get through that fast.

Time passes, ships are built. Troops, new crewmen, all shown their places after recruitment. No ANKAA MILLERS is found, no appointment with the leader of the pirates is made, due to a serious lack of rubies and gems.

Life is shiny.

Life is tough.

And then, after a while, life gets back on the road. Or, more precisely, back to the space lanes.

The scene changes, from a happy view of the FREEBOOTERS space station to the bridge of FLUFFIE'S ship.

"Comms, signal all ships - we are departing. Have all ships form up near us."

Comms - Aye.

No1 - Sir, Science and I have found a good location to set a trap. It's supposed to be a reasonably quiet area. Federation space, not much military traffic but hopefully enough freighters and merchants.

Fluffie nods.

Comms - Our vessels report they have left the station and are moving up to our position for a joint jump.

No1 - All captains have been informed of your plan before, they know where to go after we've arrived.

"Aye then. Science, we ready to move out?"

SO - Last ships forming up... Signatures show their jump engines are primed and ready.

Helm - Co-ordinates set, jumping in 8.. 7..

Comms - All ships, jumping in.. 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1..

With several flashes and special effects, the small convoy moves out. An amount of time passes and they reach their first navigation point.

SO - All ships preparing to move out seperately. Area looks clear so far.

Comms - Captains requesting the go, sir.

"Lets go then. Remember that if things get too hot, the signal Blondie will be spread. Once spread, jump out ASAP and find your own way back to FREEBOOTERS, we will rendez-vous there.

Comms - Aye sir, all captains acknowledge.

SO - Sensors show ships jumping out.

Helm - Own nav point locked, ready to go.

EO - Cloaking device ready and primed at will, we've got the ADCT and one of the two Impulse Engines running seperately to keep it going.

"Lets go then..."

One by one, somewhere in deep space, the ships jump to different locations.

The freighters first jump to somewhere near a space lane and launch their Runabouts. Then, the freighters jump into the space lane and move out a bit, leaving a trail. Not much later, the Runabouts jump too and catch up them, beginning to fake attack them. (Too make this look real, the freighters use lower their shields by themselves, while the Runabouts only fire very low power shots at them, doing no real damage.) Of course, the freighters send out a general SOS and distress signal and so, hoping for help.

Meanwhile, the two frigates will have formed up within short time jumping distance, to move in once helps arrive. What they attack will be judged once it is known what is coming in.

As soon as the Frigates begin their attacks after jumping in, the freighters will raise shields and begin flying evasively, firing their AMD and AFD at fighters/missiles used by the defenders and taking pop shots with their light plasma cannons. The Runabouts will also begin attacking the help, precise targets to follow once more is known.

And, last but not least, Fluffie's FTL will also jump in, but cloaked. What it does, is also to be seen later.

..back on Fluffie's bridge.

SO - From all I can tell, all ships should be in place.

EO - Cloaking device at the ready.

Comms - Affirmative Science, ships have reported over secure channel they are in place. Runabouts are beginning to approach freighters, signals sent by merchants...

No1 - And now we wait.

"Aye.."

If it is possible to jump cloaked, I will. If not, I will jump and then cloak as fast as possible. As said, precise targets to follow, eh?

No1: Sir, do you think it is possible that this 20 year old vessel may be as strong as any other ship?
Cid: Think of it from this point of veiw, Kosaga. That ship has a chassis that has withstanded 20 years of battle or idlement. Chassis, by and large, get strained in open space, no matter how well they are designed.
No1: But are you sure about this?
Cid: Not really, but it is always worth a try. No matter what the outcome will be, I will never flee from a battle.. especially when it's 2 cruisers against one.

Sparks fly from the burnt out panels on the bridge. girders lie everywhere, you can see the badly injured lying around. You can see the blackend stump that was once the SO. the panel completely gone

you realise that if Helm had not evaded so wildly you would be dead now. as it is you have only sufferd minor wounds and the ship is intact

EO - good news sir i have kept power and the Super weapon is now charged sir
