I cannot get the in game pages to...
Display, I get no menus or buttons and such can you help please, the page loads up with most of the "front page" stuff ships, roids resources ect but thats it????

Proxy?
I got the exactly the same problem, all the picture are missing..
I cant even use the manual link at the main page coz it got stopped in the proxy.
I do think the problem here is the "main" in front of the planetarion.com.
The proxy messages is that could not find the domain!
I also noticed that pictures is loaded from the image folder in front of the domain name....
Is this genyrally proxyproblems ?
Isnt there a way you can put those folder behind the domain name ? Im not sure if this is the problem but to me it seems logical

Planetarion is currently having DNS problems. The primary and secondary dns servers are out of sync, until a new secondary server can be found.
This means that sometimes u will have problems with loading pages. There is a way to get around this problem tho...
[following borrowed from Sakera]

To fix this you can manually update your HOSTS file in windows, and your computer will automatic resolve the correct IP adress.
To do this open this file in a text editor (notepad):
Windows XP: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Windows 98: c:\windows\hosts
Macintosh: http://www.accs-net.com/hosts/hostsformac.html (don't download the gosts file mentioned in #1)
and add this line at the bottom:
195.149.21.104 main.planetarion.com
195.149.21.29 jpaweb01.planetarion.com
195.149.21.109 jpaweb02.planetarion.com
195.149.21.104 ah.planetarion.com
195.149.21.104 images.planetarion.com
For other operating systems just search for the "hosts" file and edit it.
We will announce when the secondary server is working again, so u can remove these additions.

Apprently most norwegians have this problem. I had to use a foreign proxy to load the pages and image.
The host file on linux is btw /etc/hosts

Try using this proxy: iserver.kolding-vuc.dk:80. Worked for me

Its not supposed to go into a folder. When you open the file it should open in notepad. On my Windows XP, the file also had '127.0.0.1 Localhost' in it, so that might help you find the right place

i cant also get the pics to work
I am using windows xp and i have added the proxy things to the host file but nothing works. All pictures at the login screen and after that dont work. Some help would be nice

i personally blame this on user (and isp) incompetence unless there is a true routing problem to jolt.
can those having problems please paste tracerts to:

hmm the user!
Ok, i might not be the best and the most technical person. As far as the ISP goes, i am through ntl broadband, should'nt be a problem i dont think. The tracer bit of the reply were does that go as normally i would expect the planetarion screen to work as normal. Some useful help would be appreciated.

my isp is also broadband and planetarion is the only site i have problems with thats why it has to be somthing not working right. I have the same problem everything works great except from login on no pics are displayed.

When using a proxy, try rightclicking on the images and select 'view image' or 'load image', depending on your browser.

Note that this problems do only appear when im at work and behind a proxy!
Home i do not have this problem
At work i cannot write to the host file and can not change the proxy settings, due to Admin rights
Is this Dns problem gonna be solved ?
Is the problem related to the subdomains ? i can not remeber those subdomains in earlier rounds

I finally got my images to load before i copyed and pasted the host and host name .I finally got it to work by useing the tab key after i typed in the host and then typed the host name.
195.149.21.104 main.planetarion.com

Thats the sort of unhelpful attitude that we don't need. The user can't be held responsible for Jolt's/PA's mess up with the DNS.

But still, it DOESNT WORK!!!
Well, it seems there are lots of different HOSTS files.
If you dont have a file called HOSTS, but have one called HOSTS.SAM, enter the IPs and use save as. Then, rename the new file and take off the .TXT from the end, leaving it with nothing. This worked well for me.

The secondary DNS server was added almost a week ago *apparently*, but the problems have seemed to got worse.
Can people email me (who are still having problems) with the following to [email protected]:
- ISP (ie. BT Openworld, NtHell)
- Conn Type (ie. broadband, dialup)
- Nameserver connected to.
To find the nameserver in a Windows environment go to the command prompt and type 'nslookup'. You are then given an ip address.
I am unsure about this in non-windows OS.

Done everything suggested in this thread.
Still not working.
Couldn't bring up anything using 'nslookup' when I sent that e-mail though. Hope everything gets sorted out b/c I can't access mail, news, or mil screen atm, among other less important screens.

I have a slight problem
I cannot access the main pa... main.planetarion.com nor www.planetarion.com..
This has been the case for me since yesterday about GMT 18:00
I can ping and trace main.planetarion.com but NOT connect to it...
My ISP is Telia, help is urgent, I need to get on Pa again....
I can not connect to the direct IP to main.planetarion.com either... I HAVE edited the host file, I've tried with an unedited hostfile.. It doesn't seem to work.
I've tried using the suggested proxies but they don't work either..
I've tried this on 3 different computers and it does not work, so either t is PA or my ISP that has an error....
Please help

Since today it seems PA is unreachable from my work as well. timeouts on the pages of both planetarion and the portal pages.
I certainly have no norwegian telco.
Cant do anything with host file as i'm behind a proxyserver so i just get whetever dns translations that the proxyserver is using. Seems though that more people have this problem today seeing also a thread on PD.
