[football] Will Arsenal make it?
Will Arsenal manage to stay unbeaten during the whole premiership campaign?

Re: [football] Will Arsenal make it?
It would look good if they could win their last 10 games and reach 100 points. I reckon they will lose 2 games though, away to Newcastle then maybe one of the home matches against United and Liverpool.

Re: [football] Will Arsenal make it?
Oh yeah thats it rub my nose in it .
All of their remaining tough games are at home i think, so i would say they have a great chance of making it.
As for the Champs league, i dont think they'll make it. We would have had a clean sheet against them if it hadnt been for a pathetic decision, so i'm sure AC Milan can do the same and score against them with Shevchenko upfront.

Re: [football] Will Arsenal make it?
You really never know. I'd pinpoint the home tie with Man utd as the possible ****er. Not that thats particularly insightful of me, picking the highest up team they still have to face.. its just that theres the chelsea euro games and the millenium stadium semi final with manyoo around the same period.
If i had to guess, i'd say, yes, they can do it

I believe they'd be the second team to reach a domestic championship unbeaten, in the history of football. Which would be pretty impressive

Re: [football] Will Arsenal make it?
I doubt it. Everyone will be attempting to beat them now. I mean imagine Spurs away at White Hart Lane, that's their whole ****ing season heh. There a few games for them to slip up in. Of all sides I've seen play though they're the best able to do this (that's not the best team but the one least likely to lose concentration against lesser sides).

I suspect Chelsea will beat them in the CL because football is funny like that but I hope not because Real/Arsenal is a match I want to see most.

We still have to go to Ibrox once more. Shit as rangers are, you know they are gonna be really really pissed off. No reason why we can't though i guess, we are pretty ****ing awesome. Arsenal wouldn't be looking so hot if they still had a visit to Paradise on the cards this season

Not bad. I dont really fear for our Premiership survival, but thats more because the tea,s below us are some of the worst the league has ever had. I'm fairly sure this will be the lowest ever minimal points to survive.

Re: [football] Will Arsenal make it?
Henry deserved that goal in the first half, if only because Friedal was being complacent about being a yard away from the best forward in the world.
[edit]
However, the referee was right to disallow it. Like the penalty in the league cup final, you can only tell for sure in slow replay whether it's legal or not.
It's the same old argument for the video ref, you know.

Knee high isn't that high, but have a look at my edit. You can't allow it, as a referee, and it also encourages dangerous play, so that's an argument for disallowing it from a precendent point of view.
The premiership just showed the George Best goal I talked about cool

I've already bitched about the freekick Rids . Seems any kind of physical contact is a freekick these days.

Re: [football] Will Arsenal make it?
If you watch it in solo (yes I know the ref cant do that, **** off)
You'll notice as he runs into Henry, he seems to trap his right legs causing him to lose his balance, I'm biased, but it was a free kick.
and there was nothing wrong with that goal, although I do agree with Deffeh's statement on allowing it possibly encouraging dangerous play.

I dont think it was a free kick, but it was sweetly taken!
But anyway, take that away and they'd still have won 1-0 altho nearly a great save by Friedel!

Re: [football] Will Arsenal make it?
Ever since i started playing football, you have never been able to lift your foot up when a goalie is taking a 'big kick'*, whether thats just on grounds of sportsmanship i dont know. There is no way that goal should be allowed, you would get a situation where keepers cant get rid of the ball cos they have a striker in their face ready to pounce at any opportunity.
I'll never be convinced it was a free-kick, so no point us arguiing. Apart from that though the ref was pretty shit, he's given something like 70 yellow cards this season, and going by the ones he gave today most of those will have been for inoncuous (sp)?) challenges.
We deserved a draw. Friedel was hardly tested all match, most of the efforts were speculative long range shots. The 2nd goal wouldnt have arose had we not been pushing everyone forward due to the controversial first goal. Another loss at home, we havent won at Ewood since November .
*technical term
