I would guess the average would be somewhere between 16-21.

I'm 16, played first during the ends of r1 when I was 11, obviously was not active nor really cared, got more "into" the game when I was 12 during r2 and played until I was 13 - r5, then had a bit of a breather in some sort of rl between r5-11, and now back to square 1. :/

I feel most people are 18-22, atleast at the higher echelons of the game, I've known plenty of other <16year olds playing and also quite a few >50year olds, so there's no real "specific" age "range" but generally, most players are ones at uni, or people with comp access at work and who are bored etc.

lets see, started playing in school on lunch breaks, it lessons etc at 16, carried on till i was 18, came back aged 20, just became 21

I'm 22 but i dont play anymore. I would imagine back in r4ish most people were around 16-18 and have gradually grown up with the game, so are early 20s now.

I'm 18 and played rd 4-9.5 and now picked it back up here in rd 12, started when I was around 15-16, can't remember exactly though, played for about half hour a day at the very most my first round, soon that changed though

i was 16 when i started in round 1. 21 now. By the end of round 13 (assuming a normal length) i'll have been playing for 5 years. and still crap

well I guess I am in the 1337 group of older players, been around since R1 as well, aint misses a round since excpt for speed rounds

seen a shit load of changes in that time, going from around 200k accounts

( old joke = 200k accounts 50k human and 150k killmarks bot planets ) down to the pitifull number that it now stands at

some of the changes have been good, some been shitty, would love to see r3 replayed again tho, no strategy needed, just point ya warfs, pods and ints at somebody and watch em crumble

round 3 ran from autumn 2000 to i think the end of march 2001, so i'd expect you were more like 19
