Yahwe and I had a discussion about this and I had been critical of her, but Yahwe insisted she was a hero. After listening to his points, I was inclined to agree, but then after reading several more stories including this one:

I have com to think of Judith Miller as nothing more than a careerist right wing loon that fabricated news stories, lied to investigators, and broke her own promises to protect her source.
Yahwe said that American prisons are terrible and that it wouldnt be enough of an incentive (advance her career) to make a prison stay bearible (and I agreed with that), but I think there's more to it. She wasn't trying to just advance her career, she was trying to salvage it altogether.
She fabricated stories about WMD based on 'bunk evidence' (so, I think, she collaborated with high officials (Scooter Libby) in the Bush administration to portray the justification of the war in a twisted and untruthful way). Here are some of her stories:

Apparently Miller has been entirely discredited by her own company: "the paper effectively ended Miller's career as a serious journalist last Sunday by portraying her as a newsroom loon and weapons-grade egomaniac."
