Revolution is a typical codename, and these things always sound retarded the first time you hear them.

I giggled at 'Dreamcast' when it was named. And 'PlayStation'? Imaginative.
Games consoles need more manly, animal names. The Jaguar had it right.

This is what you get when you allow bespectacled Jap technicians to name the products that they build.

They'd never have the balls to create the Nintendo Old Spice.

And a big, though arguably arbitrary number. Like 3000.
So it's settled. The Nintendo Old SpiceX 3000. A man's console.

I wanna wii!

Oh, and the "distinctive 'ii' spelling", if you were wondering, "symbolises both the unique controllers and the image of people gathering to play".

How much did they pay their English market researchers?
It way too much.

I think Nintendo have made a damn fine decision on this one.

Doesn't help their kiddy image, however unfair it might be on them.

They're not, they just happen to have a whole load of unique titles which are entertaining in their own right - it's just the Gamecube was shit. I loved Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart 64 and Banjo Kazooie on N64 but since Rareware was passed on etc. well, it just got pants. The Gamecube was the only console to make money because they used a custom format for the disc.

Whereas Rare's output is fantastic currently, yes? Furthermore, the Gamecube has a very large number of very good exclusive titles. Eternal Darkness, Super Smash Brothers, Pikmin, Metroid Prime, Double Dash, Animal Crossing; would you like me to continue?

Remind me what Rare have done after leaving Nintendo that was so good?
(The Perfect Dark sequel wasn't good before you mention it)

Of course it wasn't good, all the talented people left Rare to make Free Radical.

It is. They made more money from the console alone compared to the others - BY FAR.

BBC having fun with the name :
'The game sees players follow a daily routine of brain enhancing exercises to boost their IQ.
Only time will tell whether Nintendo can replicate that kind of success with its Wii.'

Teehee, if there would be such a console, IŽd buy it!
Unless it actually smelled like old spice.
