Are you a Somethingawful member? I recently discovered they have a subsession for bodyhealth/training. The main sticked thread writer seems to know what he's talking about.

There is no magic formula, but there are a lot of things you can do that will make you grow less efficiently. Don't listen to people who say that this or that method of training is the best and all others suck, that's just not how bodybuilding works.

Growing muscle is all about ripping the existing muscle a little bit so it repairs stronger apparently. If you want to get noticably bigger muscles work on the muscle group with large weights (not stupidly large but large enough that you can only do 8 or 9 reps) and do say 3 sets of them and try doing it about 4 days a week. I think this maybe completely off topic but if anything was seriously wrong with you you would know it by now
