It's a bit early....
but what's your wishlist?
My wishlist are:
iPod Video 60GB
Sony PSP
Nokia 8800
I think the first two are realistic at the moment...
What's your wishlist?

Re: It's a bit early....
I don't have a wishlist.. I got what I need I think + I don't like wishing me things so people feel "forced" to buy it to me. I wouldn't mind a Sony PSP though I'm sure I'll get my usual amount of clothes for christmas. At least that's what I hope my sisters buys me, she got a damn good taste.

What is the appeal? Are you seriously suggesting that you are going to carry it around outside? Going to the pub: 'what is that there? oh it's my PSP. *confused silence* followed by spilt beer. Going shopping: 'oh i can't carry bags in this hand because i have to hold my PSP'. Going to work: 'what exactly is that you are carrying? errrr... it's a work tool'.
I just don't see the viability of out of home use for a games machine.
And if you are going to play it at home (which I imagine you will) why not just buy the older cheaper version that hooks up to a TV and has a bigger screen?
EDIT: unless you plan to buy a handbag to carry your PSP in while you are out

Yes, it's a handheld playstation. No, I won't bring it to the pub or any other social activities and I certainly wouldn't use it when I'm at my flat as I already got a PS2 there. I'd use it to get time going a bit faster when travelling. When I take a trip back home I gotta sit 4 hours on a boat which is quite boring, so what could be more perfect than a PSP? But I see your point. I don't really need it, it's only a gadget. I'll never buy one either just to make those 4 hours go a bit faster.

Book vouchers, and I guess I wouldn't mind a new computer game to lose myself in for a bit. Maybe civ 4, I've heard good things.

Failing that, a new amplifier for my stereo.

Nowt.
p.s. The best thing about the PSP aren't the (officially released) games as far as I can tell, but the modded / cracked stuff. The SNES emulator, other emulators & media player, etc all seem fairly cool ways to spend a train journey.

CD or DVD version? There appears to be a lot of people having problems installing from CD for some reason (unknown to me, but i know it's being worked on).

Re: It's a bit early....
a computer upgrade and civ4 (bang goes my social life)
some kind of personal mp3 playing thing. I'm not picky.
I could probably do with some new clothes as well, especially a new winter coat.
I have piles of books to read but I know I'll get one or two more to add to the pile.

It's a reasonably well put together game, but with some ****ing stupid problems, some niggling annoyances* and it just lacks the spark of genius that Civ II and Alpha Centauri had.
*Why couldn't they get Nimoy to read out the source as well? It's much more atmospheric than just reading out the quote. They also used the shitter "I am become death" quote from Oppenheimer.

Trouble with that is Sony is, deliberately or not, stopping homebrew by making new games update the firmware, which stops homebrew working.

yes (i'm not completly computer illiterate)
I've heard rumours that games that use the StarForce Protection system are made in a slightly different and so don't conform to the DVD standards

I would like to spend Christmas day without my Mum moaning and stressing all day.
I would like my nephew to be happy and enjoy the presents I bought him.
That's about it really. Maybe some beer.
