The british one is rubbish here really, they ask different questions and they ask kids. Also the maker admits he faked some of the answers, it would have been far better, and more interesting, if he had made a comparison between the British knowledge of the outside world and american. He didnt ask one question of the wider world in the British version whereas the majority were in the american video.

Here's where you've gone wrong.
1) You watched these videos
2) You attempted to think about these videos
3) You didn't realise that these videos only show people giving wrong answers
4) You watched these videos
5) You didn't realsie anacodatal evidence is no evidence at all

Also, people seem to forget that the United States of America is as big as Europe. If you go ask people such questions in a 'Borat village' in Romania then you get the same kind of answers.

Not a valid term of comparison i'm afraid. While in romania people in the country side barely heard of Cable television, mobile phones and the internet, in the US pretty much everybody has access to the information, if they want to be ignorant about it, it's their choice. The difference lies in the fact that they actually DO have that choice.
Also schooling is totally different. Try and find out how schools in the countryside look like in eastern europe, and what they provide to children, and then compare that to what schools in the country side provide for americans.
And seriously, making an assumption like that based on a film where exaggeration is the word of order is not exactly wise of you!

I have never actually been to the USA. But based on the (video)material provided to me about the USA, i could only assume that in some states their education system is comparable to that of schools in the countryside of Romania. My mistake.
