Arsenal 2 - 3 West Ham.

We started with

Gilbert - Djorou - Campell - Senderos

Then Gilbert got injured, replaced by Flamini..

After first 45 Sol Campell goes off, and Larsson comes on.
Sebastian Larsson is a 20 year old midfielder....

So we have a 21 year old central defender playing as right back(?), a 18 year old central defender, a 20 year old midfielder playing as central defender and a 20 year old central defender playing as left back.

I hope Wenger doesnt wonder why we loose

And Bentley, who we just sold to Rovers, have made 3 goals for them against ManU.

And almost certainly played better than Campbell, who was singlehandedly responsible for the first two West Ham goals.

So I have read. I assume Flamini took up Gilbert position at the right back.

Sadly I had to go to a meeting, so I couldnt watch the game

On the bright side, I missed the game.

It's not particularly Wenger's fault in any case - your defense is where you have the most strength in depth, you just have injury problems which, when combined with the ACoN, cause shortages.

I was pissed off to hear Justin Hoyte is playing elsewhere - not sure if on loan or indefinately. - he would have been ace imo.

Guess Arsenal are heading for the same bad patch Man Utd went through :/

It's true that we have a lot of injured player right now.

Cygan
Gilbert just added

Toure and Ebouve playing African Cup.

But still, there is no player in the age group between Cole and Campell.
And even if the likes of Senderos, Djorou and Gilbert are talented players, they still doesnt have the experience to man a back line of their own yet.

Sunderland, loan.

And it's not Wenger's fault Campbell suddenly became crap. At least it clears up the Ferdinand vs Campbell debates.

I predict Arsenal to lose 10 games (so far 8) and finish 4th.

Arsenal has lost the plot ever since the departure of Vieira.

EDIT: I was going to put 5th and qualify for UEFA Cup but my bias kicked in.

Considering the performance, and the stats, arsenal were hard done.
First west ham cole, part cambell mistake, mostly ****ing lucky west ham, score with second attempt agaisnt the run of play, arsenal 70% possesion
Second, well... good goal
Third, undeserved.

However, larsson was damn good

I was impressed by arsenals attitude at hte start of the game, and after the goals for once

about the hat tricks, wiltords been getting them for lyon, so its snakes and ladders...

This is my first time posting in a [football] thread.

I know that American indoor soccer is surely an object of scorn in the rest of the civilized world, however. in Stockton, California, it is all we have. We just got a team this year.

When I see others complaining about their team I smile. The Stockton team thus far this season has a
1-15 record and that win was on the road.

I probably won't be posting in any more football threads in the near future, but should Stockton ever win another game, I may put it in a real football thread just for giggles.

Take a ****ing shot for Pete's sake! You never know, it might go in but even if it doesn't there is a chance the keeper will spill it of be forced to push it wide for a corner.

Then we get to corners, do we actually practice these at all? Every week regardless of who is taking it (Henry/Pires/RvP) the crosses are useless, it is either too short and doesn't get past the first defender or over hit and it goes too far and out for a goal kick. Take a look at Bolton, Chelsea and Everton they put the ball into the box and create trouble whenever they have a corner and score a goal from one possibly 20% of the time.

Sorry for being a whining Gooner, I thought I got it out of my system last night. Obviously not.

But Gilbert seems to be ok.

So perhaps we will start with this line then:

With an average age of 19.3 years or something...

update: seems Gilbert will be out, so it will probably be Flamini who will replace him..

Larsson came on at left back last night and Senderos was moved into the middle and I expect that to be the case against Birmingham. Larsson looked pretty good at left back although he spent more time attacking than defending and I have been very impressed with the rest of the young defenders so far.

The problem's created in midfield. Most forward play is ditacted through the middle, and Petrov/Nakamura go forward to cover for Hartson (who can't handle the pace because he's fat and old etc) which leaves the centre of the park defended by Keane or Lennon. So it's made fairly easy for a team to play a long ball into the midfield for a counter-attack, which is conveniently pretty much what most teams in the SPL try to do against us. The flanks are also exposed as not one of our wingers can tackle to save their life, and if we're playing a 3-5-2....you can't play a 3-5-2 with four attacking midfielders covered by a retirement home escapee, that's madness.
