dressing up for halloween
today i dressed up as a rockstar.
i think i was the only person in northeast calgary to dress up. i took a bus, then the train, then another bus.. no one was dressed up.
i saw a guy with red and black braided yarn in his hair and realized he was dressed up as a punk.. so i went and stood next to him waiting for hte train. then i realized he wasn't dressing up
there were a bunch of people at work dressed up.
but again.. no one on the way home on either bus or train.
it sucked

Re: dressing up for halloween
I was in court today and there were a lot of people dressed up as prisoners. There were a couple of people dressed up as baliffs and one woman actually dressed up as a judge. It was quite entertaining but no one would dress up like that and go out on the street. I think you rockstar was a much better choice. I wish that I could have seen it.

you make your accused (i'd not call them prisoners and nor should you) wear special clothes?
do you know the concept of shame?

Re: dressing up for halloween
A lot of people with whom I live "dressed up" both tonight and last Saturday. Being the greatest killjoy ever I naturally abstained, and can't comprehend why other people would "dress up".

Not in front of juries, but yes, in our county, most inmates are brought to court for ordinary appearances in orange jumpsuits, red if they are in administrative segragation, State prisoners appear in blue. They have sandals which have no shoe laces.

i'd hang myself by my own shoe laces before i let a british citizen, even a mass murderer, be 'colour coded'.
they're still human you know. no matter what they have done.
EDIT: all we miss. all we disagree on lester is a line in the sand. I will not cross it. my life itself is not worth crossing that line. to quote winston "when alexander the great conquered the known world. he was heard to remark that the peoples of asia will never be free. because they have not learned to say "no" let this not be the epitaph of the english speaking peoples.
I know when I say "no".

I was a misplaced serial killer moonlighting as a DJ.
Actually, I just had a hockey mask on. Screw dressing up.

Re: dressing up for halloween
I don't get random dressing up. it is strange. It would be like having lobsters in a nativity play.

You dressed up to go to work?
I dont see the point of dressing up for a party, i can enjoy myself just fine as long as there is alcohol.

Re: dressing up for halloween
I gate-crashed a fancy dress party at three in the morning without bothering to dress up. However I did drink most of their alcohol so I guess you could say I dressed up as a sickening drunk of an Irishman but I'm struggling to recall a day I didn't so maybe not.

i was gonna make some generic racist comment about how the criminals in the states are already colour coded, no matter the colour of their jump-suit, but then i remembered that Black is actually the absence of colour so i was like "phew, thank God i didn't say anything"

I thought it was about warding off evil spirits and burning the old headboard/goalposts/fridge without getting prosecuted by the police.

If I burned anything on my birthday I'd probably spontaneously combust due to the amount of alcohol in my bloodstream. Not that I don't drink on halloween.

If she managed to buy a house, hire actors to pretend to be her family and drastically change her physical appearance.... perhaps....

I hope you asked if she could give you some time, as I suspect you've got to give yourself one more chance to be the man that you know you are.
