[Football][Google][1-X]Premiership Relegation
I was wondering if I could get a little help from the GD football experts.

While having a discussion with some friends about the teams likely to get relegated from the (English) Premiership this season somebody suggested that Middlesbrough were going down because every team that has lost by 7 or more goals has gone down. The only examples we could think off were Newcastle beating Sheffield United 7-0 a few years back and was it Nottingham Forest losing 9-1 to Manchester United?

I have tried a few google searches but the only places I can seem to find record results is on each football clubs offical site. They also don't seem to go out of their way to make it easy to find their record losses each season.

If anybody could find and post a list of the record wins each season that would be splendid. If you are interested we predicted Sunderland and Middlesbrough going down but we couldn't agree on which out of either Portsmouth or West Brom would be the third. This may of course be slightly biased but then 2 of my friends are Chesterfield supporters.

Rovers beat Norwich 7-1 when we had Shearer (94 i think). Dont know if they went down that year.

Arsenal used to beat Leicester City 6 - 1 once every season when they were in the top flight (between 2000 - 2002). But they didn't get relegated until 2002 or '03 I think.

A good theory but it's not conclusive (does that even make sense?).

Yeah Man Utd scored 9 against Ipswich and then the 8-1 a few seasons later against forest. Good times

On the subject of relegation i can really see Birmingham, Portsmouth and Sunderland going down. And if Pompey go down Mr Redknapps reputation is gonna be shot to shite as a wheeler-dealer in the transfer market.

Interesting stats about Birmingham though is that they won 12 of the last 20 (i think that was what they said!) when David Dunn is playing. Just beaten there relegation rivals 5-0 over the weekend so who knows what may happen if they can continue this form. Or they could do an Arsenal and get beaten by Everton lol
