Hey all.. calm down and give the guy a little respect.
The idea is a nice one - one which, many rounds ago, would have worked well and effectively. However, I think perhaps several alterations need to be made to your plans before launch.
Firstly, I would recomend that you start up small. Setting up an IRC channel is almost CRUCIAL in founding your own alliance. Secondly, I recomend you keep the alliance quiet for a while (ie don't post on AD). The majority of the AD membership (myself included) are in the 'snobby sector' if such a thing could be descrbed. Basically, many of us have played for several rounds - and we are all settled in alliances. Very little of our feedback will be nice or helpful.
Anywayz, where were we? Ah yes. Set up an IRC channel. Then try and get some friends around you in it. Even four or five other members is better than nothing - this would allow you to register the room. Then after that, you guys can 'pen out' an official charter / plan. Each person could invite another one of two people into the alliance that they are aware would want to join.
After this has been done, you should come back to AD and then state the facts, ie:
1) Charter / ideology
2) Membership
3) Expansion policy
4) How to join
Diplomacy is a great idea.... in practice. But the problem, once again, is the large 'class difference' between small alliances and large alliances. Many of the cluster / parallel alliances in the game will be affiliated with WEET. If they aren't with WEET, then they'll be with VVOMM/RaH. They sadly won't do deals with small alliances starting off fresh. Instead, get talking to some of the other new, small alliances on here. I bet if lot got friendly enough, organised an alliance and all (minimum of a NAP), then you would eventually merge together - forming a more poweful alliance. This is quite some step in the future, though, don't worry youself with it straight away
If you want any more help / advice, I'm permanently on IRC. Join #elysium and PM 'Paine'. If I don't reply, scream my name a couple of times
Hope it is a help,
