[Football] Gogo gadget desperate measures
The new Scotland Captain, is 20 year old Darren Fletcher. After 6 caps, 1 goal, and one full season in the premiership.
...
...
I couldnt be happier Normally youd think "oh, he has to have strong leadership attributes or he wouldnt be picked" but this is Vogts.
However.. on the field Fletcher is influential for us. He seems to always put in a good shift (and i think once he gets a decent chance in the centre for man utd, he'll show that then). He's one of only three Scotland players who should be given a guarenteed place in the team (McFadden, McNamara) and as such, id rather have him captain than someone who shouldnt even be on the field.
Maybe, just maybe, we'll beat Estonia tonight.

He's better than Miller . He was just unlucky to have his debut when they got thrashed against Wales.

No thankyou, please go back south of the border.
Gallagher either withdrew or was injured i think, we've had 13 call offs.
Kevin Kyle is not fit for tonights game.
Malky Mackay has a fitness test i believe.
McNamara isnt there because his wife is pregnant. He might make our game on sunday though.

Re: [Football] Gogo gadget desperate measures
On a lighter note, we're trying to get Palace thrown out of the playoffs, because of their fans at the leg at Selhurst.
I'm surprised 'Mob of Crystal Palace fans attacks Sunderland Disabled Section' wasn't in the news more, but then Gary McCallister purposefully injuring 2 sunderland players wasn't either, so I'm used to being ignored.

It's the ones who give him stick at FP I'm worried about.
I think Richard Hughes will impress you more anyhoo

Re: [Football] Gogo gadget desperate measures
James McFadden : superstar
He'd walk into the England team up front, or on the left wing.

Re: [Football] Gogo gadget desperate measures
We have Steven Gerrard, why do we need anyone else for the Left?
Seriously though, if he doesn't start Lampard and Gerrard in the middle I'll kick him. In the nuts.

Re: [Football] Gogo gadget desperate measures
It will be Scholes and Lampard in the middle with Gerrard on the left assuming they are all fit for the first game.
I will bet my house on that.

So we're all certain on the starting XI?

What about Nicky Butt?
Sven seems to have some obsession with him, despite Parker being fitter, bringing more to the team and with the potential to benefit more

I agree but with Lampard not Butt.
Does Neville *have* to play?

Re: [Football] Gogo gadget desperate measures
I dunno - just hopin there was alternatives.
I just dont have confidence in him.
And he annoys me - he always shouts and looks like "what have I done" when hes blatantly just taken a player out for because he's too slow!

Re: [Football] Gogo gadget desperate measures
Does anyone know if Darren Fletcher captained the u-21 side for an extended stint?
However I am impressed that he has made this decision possibly based on having a long running captaincy. Sometimes consistentcy in a team is what helps win through.
I'd like to think the Wales squad enjoyed one of their best qualifying campaigns due to the fact that the team they used had been one they had together for quite a few years.
