I'm still wondering what the point of that was.

Re: Rge government lies
I think we all are.
He posted it on a Saturday, so my guess is that he was drunk and decided to stick it to the proverbial man by posting this outrageously radical post on the RP forum. And, I think, he also posted one on GD, but it got closed or deleted there.

Hang on, something like this got deleted on GD but we've kept it around for almost a week?

Re: Rge government lies
The GD moderational clique has been intervening extinsively recently to act against poor quality threads and post(ers), and on a chat-based forum this thread was undoubtedly seen as such.
Darkling on the other hand probably saw our version as essentially harmless and left it, which I don't really object to.

Guess I haven't been in GD that much recently. And if this thread is both hamless and pointless, what is it?
Apart from active...

Re: Rge government lies
If it is harmless and pointless then it's most probably innoffensive spam.
Or, in technical speak, innoffensivus spamerus.

Re: Rge government lies
why are we paying attention to things like this when classic threads such as the HrH are being left to rot as they slowly descend to the bottom of the boards?

Because the HrH ceased to be truely freeform after a while, it has been around so long people know what is expected? ... A case of us oldies preserving something so much you can almost smell the dust layer.

Re: Rge government lies
The reason any thread goes to the bottom is always the same; people lose interest in it and stop posting, that's pretty much the way things go. Or, if it's one of my threads, it's mostly because I get bored of it and leave it to rot.

Re: Rge government lies
I expect I'll get a real one after I leave for university.
Problem is you see that I live in High Wycombe and it's a real shithole. Additionally none of my friends actually live in Wycombe at all, but rather in the more expensive, less ghetto villages dotted around it. If I was a cocaine addict this place would be great and I'd be out every night, but otherwise, no.

Re: Rge government lies
University always sounds like it's going to be a big improvement... then you notice that you've got an immense number of deadlines and not really enough time to do the "student life" thing people expect you to... really the irresponsible 'this is a three year party' attitude went out the window shortly after student grants... If you see someone acting like that they're either an idiot or a medical student.

Re: Rge government lies
Anywhere I go in the country will be for the better merely by merit of not being Wycombe. Apart from Milton Keynes. Are you reading this, Phang?
But seriously, I'm reasonably sure the workload won't be as bad as you're making it out to be here.

Short answer: no. Long answer: Nope. Now i'm off to get brutally murdered by my french teacher for handing in an essay 2 weeks late while wearing a t-shirt that says "hard work pays off tomorrow, laziness pays off today".

Re: Rge government lies
True, the workload is fine right up until you're spending half te time trying to type an essay, and the other half trying to stop your computer from crashing and losing the last half hour's work... Which is my current problem... I need a new computer

I'm pretty it's worse actaully. If what I've seen around here is any indication of what goes on over there, you'll be working 24/7 and still running behind.
Actaully it's not that bad

Re: Rge government lies
In education you have to do stuff that doesn't make sense because otherwise you'll get bad marks; once you leave college/university and get a real job you have to do stuff that doesn't make sense because otherwise you don't get paid...
Money > Marks .`. Work > School
