This round is going to be one of the toughest we have had in recent rounds for starting a new alliance and maintaining an alliance that isn’t top10. Due to this the game cant really afford for good players to get caught up in the ranks of a poorly conceived alliance and sadly your thread stinks of a poorly conceived alliance.
What you need to do is go away and talk with the rest of your alliance command. You then need to decide IF running an alliance is for you at this moment in time.
If you decide its not something your serious about at this time go and find an alliance that will give you a chance to get involved and build your skills as this will help you in the future if you decide to take it further.
If you do decide to carry on then the first thing you need to do is delete this thread as your be wanting to create a new one that shows your serious about it.
Now the important part of a recruitment thread is you’re trying to sell the alliance so you need to make sure it persuades people you’re an alliance they want to join. The 5 key points I think you need to address are
- The first area you need to focus on is your goals. The whole “We want to be top10” is great but it’s a tad generic and if I’m honest a bit over optimistic. Your ranked 30 now and this is before a lot of the big players have even started tagging properly so the time where your going to be top10 are a long way off. You need to come up with some goals that are more attainable, they shouldn’t be easy targets as you want to push yourself but should be realistic as you don’t want to end up failing so badly that it demoralises you.
- Then when it comes to your plans, don’t make any wild claims. It’s easy to start saying things like “we will crush those who attack us” or as a lot of people do “we will always defend our members” but it’s another thing to actually do it. All alliance be it the number 1 or the number 30 alliance have limitations, limitations which mean not all incomings defended and you can’t always wipe out everyone who attacks you. Only promise things which you know you can fulfil, promises you fail to keep lead to unrest which isn’t what you want
- Then there’s the “Who are you” question. When Error asked you gave a very brief reply along the lines of “used to play, quit but am now back”. That tells people looking for an alliance nothing. Your not a well known player and your alliance is new so how exactly does that brief history make you suitable to run an alliance? When you played were you in any alliances and if so who? Did you hold any positions in these alliances? What rounds did you play and how did you do in them? Answer questions like this as part of your recruitment thread to show you have the skills to make this a success.
If after asking yourself questions about your PA experience it still doesn’t look impressive on paper then you need to start looking outside the box a bit. Have you ever taken part in sport or other team activities? Have you worked in a job that requires you to work in a team? Have you played any other games which require team work? If you answered yes on any of the past 3 questions did they put you in a position where you were a leader or had to take on a leadership position? Did they teach you any other skills that are transferable to PA and would help you be a good leader.
- Your reply to “Who’s the HC” seems to indicate the alliance has a command of 1. HCing is time consuming even when you have a good command team around you. You need to make sure you have a good team around you with skills that compliment your own. Then go back to 3) and ask the command the same questions and include their responses in the recruitment thread
- Get someone to either write the thread for you or to proof read it. Also consider typing it in something like Word. This will reduce the spelling mistake and grammatical errors and make it seem all seem more professional.
Anyway if you decide to go ahead then good luck, you’re certainly need it as it’s a tough life with late nights and early starts and the road is littered with potholes trying to trip you up. Just keep your head up, try not to take the knocks too personally and keep chipping away. It may take 1 round, 3 rounds, 5 rounds or even 10 rounds but if your passionate and hardworking then I have no doubts your have yourself a reasonable good alliance
