Being Europe can also put you in the middle of some very nasty attacks. Should for instance North America and Africa both decide to go for you, they can turn Europe into a glowing wasteland in no time, and for both of these countries it is almost a necessity to take out Europe before they can get to Russia with nukes.

Re: It's time to talk about games you're waiting for!
I like north america...
problem with it is west coast is shit. Eventho losses are huge, when fleets come from russia and south america in pacific, and my fleets are in atlantic, mostly (all the subs are at least) thats when u leave LA.
East coast is quite easy to protect tho. And provides great spot for attacking russia over europe, or, if europe is present, europe itself.
Also nice spot to hit north africa. And fleet can go into indian ocean and have most of the sides within reach. (asia, afrika, russia and europe), with a short ride to south america. Just set your fleet to move into indian ocean right away. And nuke everyone to shit.
My main problem is bombers being take down by anti air too fast. i have not found a way to use them properly. and thats alot of nukes wasted (at both, airbases and carriers)
P.S.: africa is indeed shittiest of places to be.

I'm not a store manager is the basic reason.
Every store manager in GAME got to attend a conference last week where they got to play the Wii (hosted by Nintendo). Those store managers then conveyed the information down to their staff (For example there was confusion in Nintendo talk to whether the Nunchuka attachment is included with the console - this was cleared up)
In other good news, there are very few Wii demo pods being sent out it seems as they've got something special planned for them which I can't really say. Good news is that my store is getting one. <3 Store + Area Manager.

As am I, but for a completly different reason. I've never been into the HL series, but I am chomping at the bit for Team Fortress 2 to finally be released.

Re: It's time to talk about games you're waiting for!
I tried to install the demo but my PCs aren't good enough spec wise.
reading the review, it's more civ-based like RTW, they've limited the starting countries so you have to win as those to play as other countries, they've added trade to be more meaningful in some way, and the papancy is far far far more powerful than in MTW.

Company of Heroes is fantastic. Im having trouble getting into Dark Crusade due to the awesomeness of CoH.
Also, CoH is only £19.99 in Deal of the Week at Game (and thats the special edition too!)

Re: It's time to talk about games you're waiting for!
I agree with yahwe, however shocking it might be.
To me the game seems to be a step backwards from Rome Total war, specially if you consider it with the Barbarian Invasion pack.
RTW+BI just looked very much smoother. But then I played it with 1.6 update and not before.
Some new things, like merchants, isnt working very well either.

Re: It's time to talk about games you're waiting for!
I think the AI in battle has improved over Rome, but I've read a lot of posts by people who disagree. To me the AI now seems far more aware of being flanked, uses and protects archers far better than in Rome and holds its formation better than before. The review in PC Gamer points out they've put so much emphasis on the AI maintaining formation (to stop you dragging units away ala Rome) there are now times when it'll just stand there and get shot at rather than move to attack, they said this will be patched. Siege AI is still awful.
I think merchants are ok, although when they have good skill they seem to be almost impossible to take over, in fact AI merchants seem harder to take over than player merchants. They aren't the biggest problem on the campaign map anyway, that's reserved for inquisitors, words cannot describe how retarded they are at present, burning my faction leader with 8 piety while he's on a crusade is beyond belief, they definitely need to be sorted in the first patch. I've won with England and have restarted with the Turks far more fun not worrying about the pope and his stupid inquisitors.

Re: It's time to talk about games you're waiting for!
My point about the merchants is that they are kinda "useless". The idea of competing against another merchant is fine, but the way its done is horrible. You r merchants should rather establish "trading houses" in foreign cities and try to outcompete other "trading houses". That would make alot more sense.
And regarding the Pope, I agree that its need some serious tweaking. While I was on crusade, France attacked me (playing as England). Then when I was about to take a french city, the Pope told me to stop hostilities towards France. Okey enough, even if it was them who attacked me. But France kept attacking me in that period! Ive killed a few inquisitors with my assasins, so I hope to keep them out
Edit: Let me also add that controling the units also seems worse. I had command a cav unit several times in order for it to actually kill some fleeing infantery unit. And that my armed knights dies like flies when fighting foot soldiers with swords.
To sum it up: Im quite disapointed
