MOOs, MUDs, Mushes and the like.
Anyone plays/played those text based roleplaying games? I do, and I'm addicted, dunno if I can say the name of the server I play, but it's cyberpunk, dark and treacherous. I love the whole CP theme and the whole backstabbing motive.
I've played starwars on a miriad of servers, MUD and Mushes mostly. There are some good ones out there.
One thing that I admire is the dedication and love for the game that the staff has on all of them, the incredible ammount of manhours that take to create them and the passion for letting other people play at your creation.
So have yall played on any geek text-based RPGs?

GWSE, or Galaxy Web Stellar Epoch.
Now that is a system so complex they are maxing out 2 of the fastest server processors you can buy.

Complexity isn't always something good. Sometimes the simpler the better, but with some Mushes it's too simple to be playable.

Its not complex in that you have to be a nuclear scientist...its hidden complexity, you can play the game regardless of how smart you are. But you do come to realise its a complex world.

Oh I see.
Well I play sindome regularly, and now I'm helping with scripts. Fun stuff. I'm scripting TV shows for the corporate masses.

I think I remember playing one of those. I was a Doctor except I couldn't actually do anything because I was too low level and everyone was afraid I might kill them by trying to operate on them.

Oh how I love that. I got a doctor and chemist once, had many mishaps with the anestesia... But most of the time, at least on sindome, your skill just says how much you're able to heal them (how many HPs), but if you need to perform surgery... Yeah, wait a bit or you'll end up putting people into a coma...

Re: MOOs, MUDs, Mushes and the like.
I've played a bunch of MUDs and moos, GWSE mostly, but also some assault MUD, which was strategy/combat, some AvP MUD and even a DB mud (for a very short amount of time).
I think I've heard of Sindome and might even have had a look at it

I like mud...
That aside, I've never found any MUDs I really like. GWSE used to be reasonably good, if you ignored the annoying hosts, but I haven't played it recently.

Re: MOOs, MUDs, Mushes and the like.
I don't like muds very much as they are all about hack and slash, like kill everything that's in front of you. I prefer more RP oriented games. MOOs and Mushes tend to deliver it.
