I agree also that this will not be a world cup. It would be too much work for already over stretched creators who I'm sure will be looking forward to starting new jobs/online ventures.
The stats I feel should be round 8, these are familiar to all current players unlike many of the old stats, especially round 2. People would have to learn these stats in a very short space of time. It also means less work for the creators.
The time of play for the round is in my opinion the best thing about speed rounds. The are about endurance and skill so I think 36 hours straight will be the best (it will sort the men from the boys) Having this will mean it can fit all into one weekend and not filter through to a week day. The only negative side I can see with having a round this long with no breaks is the possibility/probablility of account sharing. As was admitted at the last 24 hour speed round many galaxies account shared.
Saying this will scare away people is not as bad as same think. It may scare away the semi active non commited players, but with limited spaces for these type of rounds most people playing will want all galaxies to be as active as possible. It makes for a more exciting and enjoyable round.
I definetly agree about having private gals, playing with your friends is the most enjoyable way in my opinion and this is especially true in a speed round. The planning and organisation that goes into a private speed round gal (the half decent ones at least) is staggering and this should be rewarded in play. This is not the case in a random round where luck is the only factor.
Please Zeus get this started as soon as possible so us wannabe GC's can get our gals sorted. :P

The simple reasons are that noone at HQ has the time or desire to setup the servers for it.

I wouldnt possibly play any sort of speedgame or any other game that filthy season are involved in in any way
someone should go and chop their internet connection (if they can beat the bailiffs that is) and put them out of all our miseries
its a tad ironic that this round will finish 23rd december as it just about guarantees that no one will be present to witness its passing
quite sad when all is said and done

Sad to see that such a great and paying community is based on a sh*t compay which doesnt give a warm fart about their customers.
PLD Zeus that u cba to run the servers for your most loyal customers for -2- more days.
What a big aggrivation considering all the easy money you made from us and all the "hard(ly)" work you putted in the game over the last 1 month (havent seen any creators hours or anything.
On one hand im really happy it is over because i know u wouldnt find a job as good as this one, maybe selling old women cheap taiwanes crap for hillarious prices would be an answer but well therefore you would have to present the prizes at least, otherwise you get sued, unlike in pa (gfx cards *cough*)
On the otherhand i feel sad for this great community which will break apart and cant be transfered as a whole on a nother game.
To 5S as a whole, good luck and may your soccergame fail badly, you miss the basic customer service and marketing skills, so please dont waste the time of more online users.

Well.. makeing an ONLINE game is not realy something u earn a LOT of money on.... most games bearly break even.. and sadly enough.. PA is not one of them.. and a LOOSING project.. is not something that can go on forever.... remember... the creators needs to live too... not only the players... ;-)

Creators still need hard CASH to run a game... (line-rent.. office-rent-- etc..) .. and with the sinking number of players.. that is hard... maybe u are pissed becuase of "bad customer service" but this is the final round... and OFC. it would not be any new features for this game.. as it is the FINAL round.. and only 2 ppl left in PA-HQ.. well.. they have enought to do allready.. and are not able to answer ALL letters/e-mails that comes into the office...
PA- has been and still IS a GOOD game... and some players are not realy known for pations.. hehe ;-) -- but ofc. there are limited amount of time in a day... and the creators still got families to take care of also. They are doing the best they can.. so what about giveing them some NICE comments instead of always complaining..... (HINT!) ;-)

I don't think u know how much work it realy is... let me give u a task... : Set up one.. and write back how long time u used..
Remember .. tickers, DB's, sourcefiles, DNS,.. etc.. and ofc. scratching old servers first... everything will take time.. and someone earlier talked about not getting answer on his mail.. well.. there will be a lot fewer answers if they also have to setup another game.. in addition to the 2 allerady running... ....

About setting up new stuff, the servers are there (remember the beta server and the old speedround servers) Actually the coding of the servers and the setup is not that much work if u have done it already a few times (which they have) and there is not much coding needed to change alot either, considering the basic codes of pa havent changed that much since r3, only some updates and modifications.
On the otherhand this has nothing to do with customer service and bad PR behaviour.
On your remark about bad money, please dont consider us all idiots, remember they had to make their tax reports official in norway and i hardly doubt 5 ppl could live from something which doesnt bring money for 2 years straight. Infact if u use some basic math and know some server and bandwith prices you could start counting on how much money they made, but this is not really important to me or either in the lines of this topic.
Basically said they just cba anymore to provide anything for their customers and honestly said, using existing servers for 2 days wouldnt outweight the 1-2 workdays they have to put in for maybe 500+ players on 10$ ?
Pardon me but 2 days work for 2 ppl for 500$ seems fair for me, but maybe i have other money values (considering their other game runs aswell)

People including myself have already spent alot of time organising galaxies for this round. This has been the biggest disappointment I have had from PA.
I am really beginning to wonder why I payed money each round for this game, when the community has been let down so many times.

This is sad
I am of course very disappointed, I was looking forward to this game, but I understand and respect your decision. The planetarion speedgames will always have a special place in my heart, they have brought me some of the best moments I can remember from this life. I hope you will occasianally host speed rounds on LAN events in the countries where you have many fans. Or something. I'm very fond of you and your game, creators.
I'm also saddened that the people who love this game can be so harsh with its creators. They are humans, they are good, they can be hurt and insulted like the rest of us. They deserve better.

This is actually a contradictio in termo
Saying you tried and whithin the same post the remark that NOONE has time or desire to do it. And not doing it yourself says enough about the way pa has evolved, long live pop up banners :-p
