Just out of curiosity, would VisioN be sharing in this "round win" alongside App/Asc?

While obviously Vision are obviously part of the "winning block" they're equally obviously not as powerful as Ascendancy or Apprime and thus discussing them in terms of the "best alliance of r34" would not make much sense (which is, after all, what the alliance rankings are supposed to determine).

Re: Round 34 officially over
Lets summarise the amazing success of this block this round:
Alliance Win - Either Apprime or Ascendancy (probably Apprime at this stage)
Planet Win - Either Vision, Asc or App planet, with outside shot for a Subh planet.
Galaxy Win - 1:2 - Fence galaxy with 10/13 being in App/Vsn/Asc
Planet top 50 - dominated by App/Vsn/Asc.
Clearly they have done an awesome job this round.

DLR - avg score t5
Euph - avg score t5
ND - finish t5
subh - stay together all round and finish t15
ODDR - finish t20
so individually, the block hasn't done to bad... but look at the damn rankings please.

Lol, are you trying to imply that the blocks sole goal for the last 3 weeks has been to make asc not win?

Re: Round 34 officially over
first dlr and euph ganged up against apprime, as they are just evil.. after waring with em for some time more ppl got intrested in keeping asc away from allywin as they were untouched and just sat on their fat roids, hence the block was formed.. can u see any other goals ?

Avoid the situation where Asc\App get too dominating and thus rapes the fat planets in the block down to the ground?
I think that has been more of the motivation over the last couple of weeks, rather than stop x\y from ending top ally.

I don't really understand this, are you saying it's not really a joint victory if one alliance is considerably less powerful than the others? If so how can you consider round 31 a joint win between Ascendancy and xVx?
And if I've misunderstood your post, apologies, put me straight!

I don't think xVx was considerably worse than Ascendancy in r31 and I certainly don't think that the round demonstrated that they were.

Although obviously this is true you're rather missing the point (and why this thread is seven pages long). In the same way that while it'd be perfectly true to say everyone bar the #1 planet has "lost" at the end of the round it'd still be a fairly meaningless statement.

everybody signs up with a planet in the hope they will make the #1 planet by the end of the round (scanners aside on this one). So by that rationale, those who haven't finished in 1st have lost in their goal of being the number one planet.
I think that goes the same for the galaxy and alliance ranks. As i said earlier in the thread, the hard coded game mechanics don't allow for more than one alliance to take the #1 spot.

I like how you just rephrased the argument that I'd acknowledged was true but pointed out was rather irrelevant. I'm not denying that there can be only one #1 alliance at the end of the round. I'm saying that "apprime won, everyone else lost" isn't really getting it. I mean if that's "all" there is to work towards why doesn't the game pan out that way? Because, no matter how you dress it up, this is still a game about dominance and the "domination" that was has developed this round isn't controlled by apprime in the same way in which it was by the #1 alliance in so many previous rounds. That said, at this point, it's definitely looking like apprime are just a better alliance than Ascendancy this round and on Friday it might be the case that the sort of "victory" that Ascendancy will have achieved will be more of the Vision type this round as opposed to Apprime's.
PS Good to see cba is still making friends wherever he goes

Re: Round 34 officially over
I think it's ****ing awesome how the biggest success of the block seems to be determing which of two apprime planets finishes first by crashing on one of them. Another round, another moral victory!

Re: Round 34 officially over
5 alliances to make sure 1 didn't win. That's got to be the least ambitious goal ever devised. The members of these alliances should really be embarrassed that this is all your command can come up with as a goal for you.
Hey, next round, let's make it our goal to answer the signup questions.
"We managed! We WIN!"

Re: Round 34 officially over
I doubt there is a single person playing Planetarion who believes you there neroon. I guess I could smash my head repeatedly into a wall and see if I can cause enough brain damage to reach the point where I'd actually be that stupid but I just don't like that much drool on my Christmas turkey to be honest.
In fact that was so retarded I'm just going to assume (read: hope and pray) that you were trolling.

Re: Round 34 officially over
Gah. JBG - first you cannot accept that there are vast amounts of people cheating and now you cannot accept that there are people that are "just happy that ASC didnt win". Your lack of cynicism is extremely commendable but I fear that the harsh realities of human nature will one day be very shocking for you.
For the record I am gutted that ASC didn't win, because I was pretty damn sure they were going to.

Re: Round 34 officially over
What does vast actually mean by the way? I'd be staggered if more than ~5% of the t8 alliances are actively cheating in the account-sharing/multiing way you seem to talk about. Farming slightly higher but definitely not more than 10%. Although this might be a topic for the other thread!
I'm sure there are people happy Ascendancy didn't win. I'd say there are tons of them in fact. I imagine there are plenty of people who are happy elviz didn't win as well. That doesn't mean those people went into the round with the goal of ensuring he didn't finish #1. Better to look at what actually happened and if the block's goal actually was to make sure Ascendancy didn't win they went about in the most ****tarded way imaginable (mainly by hitting alliances which weren't ascendancy). Now, although my opinion of most alliance HCs isn't that high these days, I doubt they're so stupid they can't work out that an alliance is less likely to win if you hit them instead of not hitting them.
I think you're completely delusional by the way, where the hell are all these cheaters or HCs who were happy to finish ****ing last as long as ascendancy didn't win?

I don't know. Maybe I am delusional but I honestly believe that because cheating in PA is so easy, and I have come across so many incompetent cheats in PA, and people that will basically do anything for lulz, that it seems natural to assume that the game is riddled with cheats.
There are loads of obvious cheats in other forms of competition where the opportunities to do so are a lot scarcer than they are in PA, so I honestly don't see why you are so quick to dismiss the notion that there are loads of cheats in PA.
I will concede that I find it somewhat unlikely that the HCs of the various alliances that composed the block had "ensure that ASC don't win" as a priority, but I am not so sure that it wasn't the main aim of a sizable amount of the alliances memberships.

Re: Round 34 officially over
I'm not quick to dismiss it. If I came in having not played pa at all I might actually lean towards your point of view. I just don't see it and I've played a lot. And it's not that even if it was there I still wouldn't see it because I did see it back in r2-5 etc. And some times games just evolve that way.
As regards alliances I think, if we're talking about aims, we have to talk about the aims of the people who make the decisions, not the aims of the people who carry them out.
Edit: It's sort of like that simpsons quote: "Aim low. Aim so low no one will care if you succeed."

Re: Round 34 officially over
the block..
block formed to take down ascendancy and with that make sure they dont win the round again.. together with that thought the block also took into account that ascendancy`s allies will fall with em if we succeed..
with that its ovbious that the block also had a goal to have their tags in best rankings they can b(including alliancewin).. id read those 3 things to b the goals for the block for this round.. imo its the reason the block was formed and played for..
4 ticks before the round end we all know how it went.. the nd/ct/subh/dlr/euph block didnt succeed in those tasks and ascendancy/apprime/vision won this war..
easy imo.. whats there to discuss about it nemore ?
theres a wining side and a losing side.. get over it already and concentrade on new rounds
PS: ascendancy defence was amazing this round, for what its worth my respect :P (not licking asc`s ass atm, so dont even start with that please)
