Just a suggestion: But how about Bringing some Alliance Based Fiction onto the boards?
Another gaming community I am in, on a game 'like' Planetarion where clans are involved, POTW's (Peek of the Week) are posted on the forum.
They consist of a picture (Not applicable on this forum due to lack of [img]) generally of a space fight scene, spaceship, or something. Following a breif text about the scene.
The text is usally telling a story about some 'ship' or 'station'. But this is basic, you could stretch into the history of your alliance, play with politics, re-enact a battle or something.. Be imagantive.
They are generally quite intresting to read. As the forum is in a bad state atm, perhaps some fiction to 'Chill our minds' is whats needed

good idea, but kinda overlaps RP from the sound of things. (in one or two ways anyway)
and how many ppl are gonna be bothered to write a post containing more than a few lines (working purely off the state of AD atm)?
could be interesting tho, ill give u that...

uh... if I remember correctly, it was something like that before, PA history, I think it was called... taking view from a random planet leader or a pilot etc... altho, no pics, and no alliance-stuff into it. It was back in r3, as I recall

I think it's excellent. It's exactly what our galaxy was doing in Round7 when we got kicked around We then wrote the "chronicles of K'u" which told about glorious battles, technological achiefments, flagships dying, new hope with new flagships, new flagships dying (there was a lot of dying in R7 involved *grrrr*) and so on. It was tremendous fun, is now (pure text) about 100k large, and kept our gal together in hard and boring times

This isn't meant to be a negative post, but isn't the final round of PA a little late to implement such an idea? It does connect quite closely with RPing too... (surely you've noticed that most users are in denial about the joy they gain from RPing on AD every day?!)
It is quite a nice happening on the EVE forums though, I have to agree
