This is a little(?) story from yesterday and the day before yesterday. It is about our alliance, that was reduced to a NAP (not because of this story) with FAnG:

Since the old HCs from FAnG left, the relations with FaNG and the new HCs were very bad. There was no real correspondence, like you can see in the following. Nothing was discussed in query. All actions were done in the public channel. Very sad....

It was an issue, which could have been discussed in a few minutes, but FAnG (WarriorJedi and Rumad) prefered to do it public.

Lets go on.

I meant to play a joke, but would never post a link that was dangerous to any member.
Those "technical" officers of FAnG were trusting norton (mc evil-virus remover).
But they were too lazy to talk to me in query (rumad, too) and too stupid to have a look at the source code of the Page.

You aren't able to query the HC of an alliance to talk with him about an issue.

This behaviour against your allies sucks... sucks really.
In normal alliances, and normal HCs (or even a normal techie) will give the opponent the chance for explaining, to give him a chance to make it clear. And on the next day banning 14 times in a channel, u r nuts. Not any try to clear it in query.

/me wishes back the old times, when Lockhead, Cray, LEFF, Kjeldoran and all the others of FAnG were leading them.

In those times, you were able to work together. It was fun. But now, there is no correspondence between us.
With them FAnG had his great times, now FAnG is only a shadow of former times.

as fang hc i sanctioned the abuse of you for spreading nasty gay porn popup pages.

the virus flagged up was gator or some deretive as well as an attempted porn dialler install

both of which are flagged as virus`s by norton and other av software.

you were out of line as a tot hc you should have had more sence than to post links like that.

then abusing your oper privlidges to walk invites and bans is blatant abuse.

the fact that tot has one server with 5 opers on it wher we have 5 opers for 5 servers is abit silly as well

rumad, maybe your approach is wrong aswell. Tot were the BEST allies I have ever played with this entire game. When lock, cray leff and I leave FAnG HC, we suddenly see you insulting tot and tell stuff like you don't need em?

your actions were abuse of your position and power within the allinace and ircnetwork and your sites were unacceptable and also against the network rules as a public listed network

you were made aware of the rules when you linked to the network in the first place

the main issue of my thread is that FAnG wasnt able to discuss things in query and private channels. Not what the reason was. And ur reason for disconnect was, i spammed a trojan horse. but there isnt any trojan horse

it was wrongly identified as a trojan but appeared to be infact a porn dialler.

your apology i accept but you should keep stuff like that in tot channels where you know the users wont be offended instead of shared channels

i dont wanna talk much about this issue cause i am feeling deeply sorry about FAnGs decision to delink the servers and cancel the ally. but i wanna explain the following.

true we have 5 server oper. but only 2 of em are network operator in result of they own the ToT server. our hcs using operstatus to prevent from funkicks and for the opportunity to act in cases of an emergency. i dont think this is silly and i wanna envoke any1 to calm down.

the technical core of ToT thanks the technical core of FAnG for the great working together and both parties will hopefully continue this work on the planed projects for future.

at least one personal note.
FAnG and ToT members (at least the german part of FAnG ~60 members) are often bound in rl relations and friendship. the hcs of both sides should stop taking this fact and base of a community down to dirt and simply excuse eachother cause i guess this is what a great part of ure membersstuff want !

Well, kinda interesting that FAnG "HC" allows their techies to put allies on such a risk by abusing friendly HCs.
Instead of talking, you behaved like a kid that just found out how to kick someone in IRC.

The other day, when Lockhead and LEFF explained in #lockhead why they were kicked, I really wondered why ppl said things such like:

"HF in negotiating with Rumad"
"FAnG is done"

Now, I kinda understand why...

I support my HC in this case.
Porn phone-diallers isnt to be taken lightly on.
There have recently been a case on telly where these diallers have connected to countries far away, and if you are unlucky being on dial-up this can get EXTREMELY expensive if not noticed. And defending your actions and trying to put us in a bad light saddens me. You have gained my respect as a very good HC this round, and I still have respect for you Wakko... but think of the result of a "joke" like this before putting it to life.
I would have gotten furious if I would have had to pay huge phonebilles due to someones prank.

now it IS Annoying, which is probably why Norton and others has classified it as a virus.. The content may be disgusting (it was). HC joking like this is everyday in ToT, but some FANG ppl took it harshly it seems.

And as for the Trojan, I couldnt give a flying FK if all it did was clean up your hard drive for you. Our private network houses our members, and the second they see the word "Trojan" spamming from thier anti virus, someone has to answer for that.

That someone is me. So I made a call, I banned the link. You thought it would be funny to take it further, so you are no longer part of our private network

I find it amazing that you can even try to defend such actions. They seem to have goten you you in alot of trouble on Net Gamers too.

Call me humorless, but I dont find this funny in the slightest, Thankfully I dont have to put up with your **** anymore

WHat this issue does raise though is the fact we are a network of mixed ages and mixed cultures and beliefs. Everyone deserves to be respected and no one deserves to have to put up with stuff which they find offensive. Offensive media is bad and if you are spamming offensive links you should stop. You never knwo who reads it.

As for me banning you yes I did and I will do it again - i am not some kiddy on a power trip i have been a op on panet and netgamers for the last 6 rounds. With it comes a responsibility and if i feel you have broken your priviledges I am well within my rights to ban you. I believe you overstepped the mark so I have banned you.

Anyways if ppl are laughing at me so be it. I know I did right and i would do it again. I am sure any other responsible hc would/should act appropriately. I believe did.

this makes sense to me, some younger kidds could probably have their computer access removed by their parents if they surf such pages
