Automated mail for gc & hc's when a planet gets closed
The suggestion is pretty simple like the topic says.
Currently only alliance hc's get a mail when the planet gets deleted.
I imagine it's not that hard to code it so gc's & alliance hc's get an ingame mail when a planet in their gal / alliance gets closed.
A simple copy / paste of the code that sends the mail on deletion with some editing should do the trick i guess.

I have no major objections, but why do you want this?

So he gave them the coy little wave and realized it probably would have been more effective if he hadn't been lying on their turkey.

So the people that are 'responsible' for the person that gets closed know whats going on.
Small example of what happened in my gal this round:
We had somebody ingal that said he was in the israeli military (donnow if that's true but he had given me no reason to doubt him). So when suddenly I stopped seeing him online I assumed he was probably out in the field somewhere, shooting at those crazy palestines...
A while later the planet is suddenly gone, we go check sandmans and there is no record of him self exiling.
Go ask his alliance and all they can tell me is that they got an automated mail saying the planet got deleted.
So to evoid nasty situations like that where the gc of a gal & the hc's of an ally have no idea wtf is going on, a simple automated mail when a planet gets closed would be good.

Re: Automated mail for gc & hc's when a planet gets closed
Good suggestion in my opinion.
Would you say there is also a need for an automated mail to the GC when a planet gets deleted?
So, both closing and deletion means an automated mail to the GC, as well as the HC.
Or did you take that already into account by taking closing more general?
Cheers

You're right Membrivio.
Basicly what I'd like is an automated mail when & planet gets closed / deleted to the GC of the gal & HC's of alliance.
Pretty simple suggestion :-)

Better to send the mail to the alliance itself, rather than the HCs imo.

Discussed, tweaked, ready to be implemented?

Re: Automated mail for gc & hc's when a planet gets closed
When a planet is deleted (and still in the gal) then yes it would be a good idea to inform the GC.
However, when a planet is closed, it's a matter between the MHs and that specific planet, not his alliance, not his gal, nor 50 of his friends. We have enough ppl showing up as "emotional support", all demanding to know what the planet was closed for and why.
Since we aren't allowed to discuss that with anyone else than the planet, i see no reason what so ever to "invite" ppl and have them showing up to complain/ask about it.
Not to mention the planet might not actually stay closed, and we all know that as soon as the notification about the closing arrived, some would try to get that planet out of the gal/alliance, regardless of the planet being innocent or not.

Re: Automated mail for gc & hc's when a planet gets closed
Thank you for reacting Cin. Missed that point. Good point. What's left is the message to the GC upon deletion on which you agreed. Hope to see it soon! (maybe next round?)
Cheers

Re: Automated mail for gc & hc's when a planet gets closed
It's already added, it doesn't specify why the planet got deleted, just that it has been, same as what the alliance message says.
