Re: Ascendancy v Apprime
The gal has 5 Asc and 4 App, can hardly call it a Asc gal...
DLR is hitting 2 APP in that gal... can't really say it's an act of war vs Asc either...

If they keep getting closed at this pace, they probably need allies to actually being able to hit us at all. It seems that after all not everything is fair in love and war.

Re: Ascendancy v Apprime
but, block wars are so much more fun than 2 allys hitting eachother!
Also, from what I ve been told most alliances kinda picked sides last night...?
I know we in vsn are attacking asc with apprime atleast. And I heard apprime got incs from other alliances. I ll let those with proper intel say which allies I spose
Saw some epic crashing already, I dont approve Apprime!

So now that Asc and Apprime have begun hitting each other, alliances are supposed to pick a side. But before that, Asc and Apprime were quite happy to go for easier roids on the very same alliances you want to pick sides.
I think most alliances will try to keep out of the war, and only join a side temporarily to keep the Asc vs Apprime war balanced.

I'd be inclined to agree, depending on various factors. For one, there are definitely riches to be had by joining in. The fattest galraids are the ones in the war. If you can get in on them, there's good potential for spoils of war, especially if you're not getting much extra incoming. While Apprime and Ascendancy haven't moved very much on roids the last few days, a lot of roids have been swapped.
For p3ng and, to an extent, VisioN there's most comparative advantage to joining in on the war. Since Ascendancy and Apprime are mostly hitting eachother at the moment, their roid economy is pretty closed. They've got about 120k roids between them that they're mostly swapping. Every roid drained from this common pool is an advantage for the third and fourth ranked alliances as it holds back their competitors from getting ahead.
For the other alliances it's a question of other motivations. But quite clearly, if you want an even field, you're better off joining in (by the previous logic).

Leading is not winning!
At least not unless Apprime want it to be. Apart from the fi/co raids Apprime has really done very little past few days. A little action could swing it.
They seemed to stop when Vision decided it preferred easy roids, so if VsN joined em again they might show some fight again.
The losing may even be a political tactic as its easier to organise support from 2nd than first but I doubt it.
A 4/5mil gap is in no way insurmountable but i agree the swing over the last 48 hours has been quite remarkable.

Re: Ascendancy v Apprime
the second they let the worst FC in history of mankind land on hanzi, well I knew it was over.
I told them eta 8 and eta 7 to cover the shit cause it was an FC, but no one bothered to send. I later tried to organize a big wave on benneh, but 90% of the apprime said they would rather send on some easy shit at night instead of waiting till we got our shit home in the morning.
Unless some other ally step up and join vs asc its over now. cbk going on vac, cardi and elviz inactive.
asc fortress gals growing stronger.... ye its all pretty much over

FYP . If carlsberg did fc they would probably be 2nd best after that one , catching hanzi's co with bs eta ships was truly epic

Re: Ascendancy v Apprime
I think it was Apprime's epic incompetence that makes it truly epic from an Asc point of view. It was not that great a strategy really with such an obvious way to avoid it, it was the audacity to think that it might work and it was worth a throw that was epic.

my apologies. still the rest of the post stands, and 9 days is nothing in comparison to prior wars (Omen vs Asc anyone?)

Which was also punctuated by periods of Asc/Omen truces - this could just be a lull in hostilities, it may not but its too soon to say either way.
Also the war between Asc and Omen was quite exceptional in length and ferocity in recent history other wars dont really come close.

Unless some other ally step up and join vs asc its over now. cbk going on vac, cardi and elviz inactive.

Re: Ascendancy v Apprime
For intensity the omen v asc war was exceptional i think there was only one lull between the sides that rd i think it lasted a week then we went at it again

Who said that the war is over? There was weekend, what meant less activity, and downtime. Even omen/asc war had a break. So i would not call it over untill one of the opponents gives up. I'm pretty sure there will be more battles between asc/app.
But ofc Evo benefits if asc/app battle it out, so their fat planets can sit longer on their roids.

One guy, who isn't even in either of the alliances in question, had a vision today that, oh no!, the apocalypse is coming. Make tin foiled hats and stockpile canned beans everyone! The end is near! The end is near! Repent! Repent!

Re: Ascendancy v Apprime
when asc/omen fought people on both sides seemed to care, apprime doesnt really seem all that up for it from an insiders pov. then again im getting increasingly more inactive and carefree as uni begins so maybe im not in the best place to judge.

I liked the wordplay with Vision in there!
but lets face it though, unless someone helps apprime soon, the round is over.
Also I know more about apprime activity than what u might expect!

It'd be nice to have a round that goes down to the final ticks of course but I'm not so sure thats motivation enough for anyone to help Apprime. They had more value going into this war and had Vision attacking Ascendancy with them and still losing the war.
Evolution could side with them and Apprime may take the round but they won't have earned it, unless they show some skill/activity Apprime winning the round due to block wouldn't sit well with me.
